Ok...This is all about the media's portrayal of Taylor.The Taylor I'm the hoodie represents Taylor's reputation as an evil person and a serial-dating machine (also when that Taylor is defeated you can see that she is a robot)The trapped Taylor represent the real Taylor and how her reputation gets her into trouble even though it's the MEDIA'S perspective.The hooded Taylor tries to control the real Taylor by giving her a robotic body which the real Taylor ends up turning it into an armor to fight back! (using negativity and hate as a weapon).The real Taylor struggles and fails a few times until she realizes that her voice (her music) is the only way to escape this; you see her scream before the last chorus which breaks the glass and destroys the fake Taylor the media has created.And then the light enters the place and she sheds a tear of joy proving she's human and has feeling like all of us.There are also anime references like when her eyes became more blue and brightening which in anime represents becoming more powerful due to anger or the need for revenge.There are lots lots more to say but this comment is already long enough✋

The dark Taylor in the hood is the “taylor that was media writes about her” the “crazy Taylor that dates lots of men and cries when they leave. Always clingy” and the “Taylor in the box.” is actually Taylor. It’s her true self. Taylor is in a box trapped in the media’s lies. She can’t escape, the “black hood cape Taylor” is mesmerized by Taylor in the box. She wants to know more about her. She watches her and is in aw, evening Taylor’s power. (They are jealous at how talented Taylor is) when Taylor is finally fed up with the media’s lies. The Taylor in the box breaks the glass killing the cape Taylor and walks away free so she can be her true self.

The Taylor in the cage is like "the real" taylor i think and the taylor in black is the taylor the media wants to see and the taylor in the cage tries to change herself multiple times and she still can't break out so at the point where she's just being herself and singing the glass breaks and the taylor in black, her skin goes away which reveals like a "fake" taylor (with her being a robot).

I'm the biggest swiftie ever and I'll decode some things. the "89 91" MAY sound like a 1989 reference, BUT with the lyrical concept this is more of a love or a love interest kind of song AND Taylor was born in 1989 and her current (and VERY private boyfriend) was born in 1991, that being "89 91". There's also a lyric from "Gorgeous" written in graffiti, it says "Ur So GORGEOUS". Also, what I think about this video is that the Taylor with the hoodie is her reputation and the bodysuit Taylor the REAL Taylor, yet still being influenced by the media. Let me explain, whenever Taylor does or say something, people always criticize her because they have this view of what she's supposed to be (hence all the modifications with the cyborg, horses, etc. Trying to be the perfect role). She battles with hoodie (reputation) Taylor because she sets a bad and false example of her and hoodie Taylor (reputation) is pushing her real self (when she touched the screen and debilitated bodysuit Taylor). Later, bodysuit (real) Taylor gets stronger, getting rid of hoodie (reputation) Taylor and also while she got stronger, gets out of that cage (that made all the modifications) and is her true self. She also sheds a tear at the end, meaning that even though she looked like a robot, still had and HAS emotions and she will finally be at peace with them regardless of what people say. Hhope this makes sense and excuse the typos.
