Taylor said a while ago (idk when) that she never wanted to make the same album twice. That she wanted to always keep evolving as an artist and if you listen to her entire discography, you'll notice she has been successful. Love your reactions btw, you guys should react to the whole rep album then stadium tour
reputation was released in November 2017, right after Taylor was "canceled" by the media in July 2016 for allegedly lying about about Kanye's song or whatever (turns out she wasn't lying). Taylor called summer 2016 "the apocalypse" and disappeared from the spotlight for more than year following all the hate she had gotten. So the 'reputation' album experiments with darker sounds because she felt angry at the time, not because her record label made her do it! In regards to the album's theme, it's about how she found love during the darkest time in her life. I recommend listening to the album in order to understand the entire story.
Hahah. Folklore to reputation. What a contrast. 🤣🤣 I hope u guys dont do Fearless next hahaha 180 degree. But if u want more in reputation, I recommend I something bad, getaway car and don't blame me.
Yes yes and yes. Live getaway car and I live watching the making of acting behind getaway car.... it’s so interesting to see her writing songs. The making of a song Gorgeous Or Delicate Is another that I like to see how Those came about. I find her mind to be Fascinating.
0:58, agree!!! that's why i love her, she's like a complete package, her genres are, country, pop, folk, alternative, rock, etc. and she can play many instrumentsss
A little bit of backstory on reputation. Taylor released it in 2017 after disappearing for a year cuz 2016 was a fucking apocalypse. She was getting dragged everywhere cuz of Kim and Kanye and #taylorswiftisoverparty was trending worldwide at #1 She came back and released this goddamn masterpiece of an album. This album is about finding love in the middle of chaos. Finding love while dealing with a bad reputation.
Please make a reaction to a young, very popular singer in world. Videos from this singer collect hundreds of millions of views. Diana Ankudinova is now only 17 years old. She has a very unique, very deep, clear voice. Dr. Marc Reynolds (Voice Teacher, Stage Director, Performance Coach and Consultant, and Acting Coach) said about the performance of this girl: Really really exceptional! Even if you ignore her age, even is she was 10, 20, 30 years older, this is still a really exceptional performer here that we're seeing. But at her age, unbelievable. Really really exceptional! Absolutely gorgeous! And again, not just because of her voice, because her performing, watching how nuanced and engaging her performance is. Ah, it's just so stunning. It's absolutely amazing.
The Big Machine angle is also very interesting. Given everything that has happened since, could actually be the main idea. :) But what I think that it is also about Taylor Swift's fight with her "reputation" concocted by the media, and her eventual freedom. The Dark Taylor is the persona media had created about Taylor. The naked, vulnerable Real Taylor is trapped inside by the Dark Taylor. The Real Taylor tries to break out of the trap many times, with armors and fantastical beings and weapons, but fails every time. It's only later she realizes the most effective weapon she has is her voice, her song and her words. Thus she screams at the end, breaking the glass and setting herself free. As the light penetrates through the dark dungeon, she's set free of her "reputation".
I love Taylor's reactions that you guys do, please keep doing it. And yes, I love that Taylor is a versatile artist and she does everything very well in what she sets out to do, like first in country music, then pop music and now alternative music with folklore
I'm surprised you guys never listened to the reputation album. I think you might enjoy it. There are some really interesting songs there. You should definitely check out.
This was the last album she did with her last record label, and she was already having problems with them, there are lots of clues in the Rep era, although she couldn't say anything out loud since pissing off her label could have made her not be able release videos, go on tour, etc. But we know for sure they were having issues because of a clue in the Look What You Made Me Do music video (her old label is called Big Machine Records and in that music video she was raising two motorcicles with her bare hands, shading the label and how she was carrying it alone. It was such a reach that no one really knew this was on purpose until someone pointed it out on Tumblr and Taylor liked their post, confirming the theory) and also during her tour she did a tribute in every show to an artist who had fought for artist's right to own their own work, this was a lot less subtle and it was pretty clear that she already had in mind leaving BMR if she didn't get to own her songs
Rep is one of her best albums, many people think it’s her best. She was going through a lot, this album is her telling her story through song instead of through the media. And the result was the most successful concert tour in history. It was a dark time for her and she took all that was against her and used it to her advantage. I commend her.
All too well performed at the Grammys is considered to be one of the best Grammy performances in history. It’s spectacular and it is considered to be arguably her best song.
Hello! Thank you for the video! Please react to Rechenka's songs, Wicked Game🌞🌞🌞DIANA ANKUDINOVA is a talented young singer. I would like to know your opinion. I think you will be surprised. Diana has a very unusual voice and artistic presentation for her age.🌹🌹🌹 Thanks in advance!
I think the video represents the reputation era as a whole especially since the song is the intro to it. The all-black Taylor is what people think the album is gonna be about and how the album will start AKA her reputation (the first few tracks from the album described her state from when she was 'cancelled' ex. 'I did something bad' and 'look what you made me do'). But the Taylor in the cage represents the true essence of the album and what she actually is. By the end of the album, she realizes that her reputation doesn't really matter and she learned to ignore it. (The last few tracks of the album were very light-hearted and easy ex. 'call it what you want' and 'new year's day')
Wait till you see look what you made me do video...a word of advice after watching that video watch the breakdown of that video because there's hundreds of Easter eggs in there I'll suggest the Lauren lipman one..also that song was sorta her comeback song after the whole 2016 debacle she was like not seen anywhere for a year and then boom..one day Al her social media accounts are wiped and these cryptic snake videos are posted before the release of this song..in a video in her documentary probably she said that she felt like a wounded animal and wanted to lash out..and after you both complete this album I highly suggest you check out the reputation tour on Netflix..it's one of the best tours you'll ever ever see in your life
All of her albums are very different especially from Red/1989 to Reputation to Lover to Folklore, react to all of her songs on reputation please.. one of her best best best album!
Yea you're right. reputation album was the last album by Taylor Swift with Big machine records..so she's been controlled in the Music Video like her old label controlling her. ..Hopefully you guys will react to entire reputation album🤗
ootw is in my top 10 TS songs. But, I prefer live versions of her songs. She performs 2 live versions that are very different and I would suggest reacting to both in one setting. One is out of the woods Grammys and the other is out of the woods Grammy Museum. Both spectacular, both very different versions of one of my favs.
The Taylor with the black hoodie represents the 'warfreak', 'drama queen', 'liar', 'serial-dater' while the Taylor who is wearing a body suit represents the real Taylor.
Reputation is many people’s favorite, every album she is doing something different. This album came from a time when her rep was very low, the worst time of her life, Kim and Kanye famous tape and called her a snake, #taylorswiftisoverparty was trending on Twitter. She took her feelings and created this very autobiographical album about everything that was happening. It’s really a journey listening to the album. As we know now In 2020, Kim and Kanye edited the famous tape and Taylor was telling the truth after all back in 2015-16. So they called her a snake, so the snake became the theme of the entire album and tour. She embraced it, used it to her fullest advantage. Every lyric means something. It’s full of shade To Kim and Kanye and then she was Also falling in love so there are songs about ending a doomed rebound relationship, and Starting to date someone she falls in love with. It’s an autobiographical journey, you should listen to the entire album. It’s spectacular.
