As others pointed out - if your disk is GPT, then don't use id = 27, you need to use id=de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6ac and set the GPT attribute to 0x8000000000000001
27 does not seems to be the correct value for RE. The following worked for me. set id=de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6ac gpt attributes=0x8000000000000001
I was still getting the bitlocker issue, but found a fix for my issue: I deleted the recovery partition and created it again. With it still empty I bitlockered it, then immediately removed bitlocker. This seems to have cleared the bitlocker flag against that partition. I then set up the recovery partition as per remaining instructions and reagentc /enable now worked.
Thanks for the great info- solved my problem (I had the wrong type on the recovery partition). And no thanks to Microsoft for a thoroughly misleading error message!
I had the same problem when trying to enable Windows RE. Unfortunately, the suggested method here did not work (deleted recovery partition and created a new one). I finally solved the issue by turning off Device encryption (from Privacy & Security -> Device encryption). Afterwards, I could enable Windows RE using REAGENTC /enable (at cmd window). Or you can try PowerShell Commands: Disable-BitLocker -MountPoint "". For example : Disable-BitLocker -MountPoint "C:" Thank you.
I am getting the same error again. I did all the steps and I allocated 1021 MB of space. During the Set Id, I used the "de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6ac" id because I have UEFI/GPT-based system. But, then this message popped up: "The selected volume or partition is in use. To continue with the operation use the OVERRIDE parameter." I used the OVERRIDE command to set the id, exited the diskpart, and tried to enable reagentc again, still getting the same error. What can I do? Please help. I am using Windows 11 64-bit system
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9h2za6semYI.html This video helped me fix the issue ... For windows 11 the options are lil different... Once u gave decryption it will take some time and after that it will work without issues...
With all respect your method does not solve the issue. This problem is happen when installing new system on old system partition without format and repartitions the whole disk. You need to remove the bitlocker deception then format or delete the old recovery partition and create new one if necessary.
Everything is done like u!! But in my 1Gb partion write like this Healthy (EFI SYSTEM PARTITION) Not like u ex in ur disk management writing like this Healthy (Recovery Partition) so if it's done or not im worried pls reply!!!
it didn't work for me. they showed my partition type is ebd0a0a2-b9e5-4433-87c0-68b6b72699c7 i typed set id=27, they showed "The specified type is not in the correct format. For more information on the command type: HELP SET" then i exited and typed reagentc /enable, and they again showed RE cannot be emable on a volume with bitlocker
Hi @o_j_edits, I hope you were able to resolve the issue, but if not, user @Kirkaiya has pointed out the solution for this. For your information, this is because your system is using a style of partition called GUID Partition Table or GPT and in the video, IT Army has a style of partition called the Master Boot Record or MRB. SOLUTION: In your case you can create the partition using disk manager as shown in the video. and then as shown run diskpart: Select the current drive you want the RE partition to be on. >sel part >set id=de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6ac >gpt attributes 0x8000000000000001 it should already be formatted as NTFS if you used the wizard to create the partition, if not you can use this: >format quick fs=ntfs label="Windows RE tools"

Never seen this request before and you can't disable the Master File Table. If your MFT is bloated, I suspect what you're asking for is to "Defrag the MFT" and then "Compact the MFT" - I know Paragon HDM has these wizards offhand but I'm sure Acronis, Macrium, etc. do as well. Afaik, Windows can't do that natively
