This is our REAL 3 month old baby evening routine. The key thing for us was knowing what time to put baby to bed & for him to sleep through the night!
I searched high and low for real 3 month old baby evening routines and this is our version on the ones that i have seen. This is what works for us, but of course, every little one is different and you just have to find what works for them and you!
Starting off with baby sensory play time, feeding, bath time and then bed time! All by 9:30/9:45 PM which gives us enough time to have a relaxing adult hour with a glass of wine!!

Oh Shan he's just a little beauty. Also i agree on the prep machine its an absolute life saver and takes less time to make a feed up. Also i ordered the same bath support as you have, as my little one is getting a bit too big for her bath and is running out of space. Time is going so fast as my little one is 4 months and George is 3 months. I've just switched my little girl to cow and gate as i used to give her Sainsburys little ones formula but people are still panic buying and Sainsburys ran out of stock and had no clue when they were getting stock in, so i switched her to the cow and gate as you can get it from any supermarket and i'm actually glad i did as i've noticed she's only been sick once since she's been on it compared to the multiple times a day when she was on the Sainsburys little ones formula.

@HomeWithShan 3 года назад
Ah wow that’s so lucky about the formula that she’s less sick now, amazing! Yeah love that you can get it anywhere, the Aldi one is great but if you can’t get to Aldi or they’re sold out then you’re screwed!! Cow and gate is nice and affordable, can get it everywhere and George seems to love it! Xxxx

I gave birth in September and with Covid I haven’t been able to get out much to see anyone or meet any new mums. Watching your videos and seeing I’m doing similar things to you puts me at ease a bit and I almost feel as if I have a new mum friend haha! I see so many similarities it’s crazy thank you for your videos! Merry Christmas! xx

I feel exactly the same, I love seeing what other mums are doing with little ones the same age and it’s so good we can have this online community to share our experiences at this hard time! We can all be mum friends 🥰🥰♥️

I'm envious he goes so long between feeds. My little one is 12 weeks and still only manages 2.5hours between feeds. Can't wait for longer stints so we can get more done

Please could you do a video on toys for George and what you bought when? Not sure what toys a baby needs from birth to 6 months and I’m due in March! ❤️❤️
@paleprincess6099
@paleprincess6099 3 года назад
I’ve got an almost 3 month old and he’s not been interested in any toys yet. He likes high contrast books and the baby sensory videos that Shan is talking about but that’s it. He’s just started holding rattles but isn’t really interested. So I wouldn’t worry about getting too many toys yet!x

Absolutely love your videos. My baby is 6.5 months and we still struggle getting him into a decent routine. Please don't take this the wrong way but wasn't sure if I noticed George roll in the video, once he can roll it is dangerous bfor his arms to be swaddled in a sleeping bag. In care he were to roll in the night onto say his front and then not be able to roll back. Xx

Hey lovely! Thank you!! And yeah you’re absolutely right! That’s why we have got the 50/50 transitional swaddle so that you can unzips the arms🥰

Sucking on fingers is a feeding cue so if he's not interested in the dummy then he might be hungry. My daughter is 5 weeks and bottle fed and every midwife and health visitor we've seen has been very against timed or regimented feeding, they say you should feed on demand. If we waited until 4 hours had passed between every bottle we'd have a very upset baby (sometimes she will go 4 hours but sometimes only 2. We let her lead and tell us). Not saying that George would be upset as you say he is a chill baby but others trying to follow this routine may struggle and it's not what the NHS recommends.

Hi, I noticed you’re using cow and gate formula with George, I seen you were going to use mamia in one of your videos before you have birth or could have been aptamil, just wondering why you changed? I was planning on using mamia or aptamil so curious why you changed as I’m still getting opinions and reviews. Xx

When u go downstairs once he's asleep do u use a video monitor or does your partner stay with him? X

Hey! Our house is quite small so we can hear him if he stirs or anything. When he goes into his own room we’ll set up his monitor for him though. Just haven’t needed it just yet x

What age did you start to leave George by himself upstairs? My daughter is jut over 7 weeks so not sure if it's too soon
@HomeWithShan
@HomeWithShan 3 года назад
I can’t remember to be honest, probably from about 6 weeks ish, but it’s perfectly safe to do so as long as you can hear them if they need you ☺️

The Lullaby Trust recommends baby sleep in the same room as you (including all day time naps) for the first 6 months. Of course there are a lot of things they suggest that people don't follow (co-sleeping etc it's parents choice at the end of the day) but their advice has reduced the chance of SIDS. For me it's not just being able to hear my baby I like to see her too to make sure the blanket hasn't covered her (she wears a sleep bag overnight) or she hasn't sicked up, got a dummy stuck under her head etc.
@nataliepowell4443
@nataliepowell4443 3 года назад
Please note that it is not perfectly safe to leave your child until they are 6 months old. Please see advice from Lullaby Trust that your health visitor would've provided. Take care.

How do you make sure George doesn’t get too hot at night when he’s in his little sleep sack thing ? X
@HomeWithShan
@HomeWithShan 3 года назад
Depending on the temperature of the room at night, we’ll decide which swaddle to put him in (1 tog or 2.5 tog), our bedroom is quite cold at night in winter as it’s an old house so we use the 2.5 tog in winter ☺️ If he does toss and turn in the night then I’ll just check he’s not too hot or cold and add or take off a layer if needed. But usually it’s fine 🥰

I’m going to be classed as the classic ‘troll’ here but do you realise that kissing a baby on their lips is SO dangerous? You can pass the herpes virus onto them which could in turn kill them. I think you need to look it up because I’ve noticed you do this a lot.
@HomeWithShan
@HomeWithShan 3 года назад
Hey! Thanks for your concern, but I wouldn’t kiss him if I had cold sore or blisters and I think that’s how it’s spread. Either way maybe forehead isn’t safer 🙊
