REAL dirt RC racing in Fl || Winterfest Newberry RC Park 

I haven't been racing long but most of my experience is on the loose, loamy and (in my opinion) the real off road tracks. Loose dirt tracks change throughout the day and the drivers should have to adjust to the track not make the track so locked in that its exactly the same each race. That race is exactly what RC needs to get back to. Thank you.

Nowadays, I mostly do clay and dirt. I did Spec Slash on carpet when I first started out. I will have to give carpet another run since a new carpet track opened up on the east side of the Twin Cities, MN.

I haven’t raced (yet). But I know me. I would like dirt tracks over carpet because of the challenge of the track always changing I love challenges. But I believe carpet would be fun also.

Outdoor Dirt all the way here. Only downside is the weather doesn't always cooperate.. rained out every race this month here at 318 RC Raceway.

This surface is much closer to what we run in Europe! Have you run on a wet grass track? That is something else! Schumacher full spikes are the only way to go.

Dirt for me not even close. Carpet for whatever reason has a whole other vibe to it and it’s a vibe I can get into.

1:8th scale: dirt over carpet (but my main track is carpet only..) 1:10th scale 2wd: to be determined... was going to race it in the winter but covid still hits and all tracks are closed.. I miss racing so much! Also great video as always, every new one is a pleasure to watch, keep up the good work!

What a great race!! Great job! I thought for sure you were going to battle back in 2wd. In 2wd when you missed the triple, is there anything you say to yourself to get back on track? Its one thing I struggle with when I crash.. seems like when I crash.. I follow it up with several crashes and take myself out of putting good laps together. Can't wait for the next video. We don't see you covering videos for RTR vehicles (unless I've missed 'em somehow), I.e., the Traxxas "Slash," (Fox Edition), and Arrma "Vorteks/Typhon." Would you mind covering something like that, specifically, how to setup the aforementioned rigs for practice at the track? Like SO many others (especially online), before taking on a full kit build, I wanted to "feel it out," thus ensuring it's something I wanted to get back into. I bought said vehicles and have started to practice for legitimate club racing prior to running an RC10T6.2 or RC10 B6.3 (if that makes sense). Others like @RazorRC do vids somewhat close to what I'm referring to, E.g., "5-Mods-for-Vorteks," but your videos are so damn informative that it'd be rad to see something like that. Not to mention, it'd be epic to see you run the trucks and/or buggies out of the box, then make upgrades and see how much faster your times are; in the least, even if the rigs aren't faster you could explain how handling improved, (cornering, doubles-triples, straightaways, Etc.). Please, sir.... GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT!!! Thanks for the amazing and informative work you're doing. Whether a seasoned veteran or newbie, or a returning enthusiast, your hard-work is much appreciated. Keep it up, brother!

these videos have been great, the perspective on going from carpet to dirt was interesting! I have a thought for you on a new video - it would be interesting to see a side by side video of the car on track and your fingers on the throttle and wheel for carpet and dirt

DIRT 100% makes for real fun races. Track also builds characteristics that you have to overcome as a driver. Carpet, same, same, same, same, very small changes in conditions...

Hey Ryan love your videos. I Raced dirt oval when I was a kid. Had the original RC10. Telling my age haha. I went to get back into racing, trying off road and trying to decide between b74 and 22 5.0 do you know if either is fixing to come out with a new model . Don't wanna buy one and it be the old in a month or so.. Also which one do you think would be easier to setup and learn to drive on a newbie?? Thank you

Haven’t raced in years but dirt for sure. Carpet is intense and and setup setup setup. Dirt is a little more forgiving and it’s just a good time. Ended up with a AE sc truck and forgot how fun Rc was. Been looking at buggies but never have run a buggy. Ran stadium trucks outdoor and carpet and then a car on carpet and hydroplanes.

Dirt. Carpet for off road isn't natural. I understand it, if i built an indoor track it would probably be carpet too due to the convenience but I hate running on it. But in eastern Canada it's carpet in the winter or nothing.

Carpet over dirt. More frequent track changes and for us non sponsored fellas the tire bill is much less. An added bonus is the fact that weather doesn't ruin a race day

Outdoor dirt racing is preferable based on the class. 4WD and 2WD SCT really allow for a lot of forgiveness out there, whereas 2WD buggy tends to struggle and feel every bump. Keep the 2WD buggy on indoor clay or carpet

I think dirt is what it is all about because no one specific set up is always right you must be able to drive a good line and be willing to adjust your line as the track changes.

My home 1/8 track is a very unique dirt offroad, the only one like it that I have seen? It is river bottom silt, its very sandy, which is bad for the bearings especially when it gets dryer. Suposed to have a race tomorrow, cant wait! Cool video bro!

Ryan, I dig everyone of your videos. Seat of the pants racing, behind the scenes detail on how to make it happen, and most of all emphasis on always have fun! I race at B&T Raceway in Crestview. Fl, Hunter King races there often and lives near by. The B&T crew has there dirt dialed as they should being theyve had 20+years of experience. Solid race day brings a quality blue groove and very nimble and smooth racing surface. Id like to make a trip someday down south to check out tracks youve featured in videos. Personally id love to see a video on how in depth you go in between heats and the main. Some folks rebuild a car come main time. Some blow there car off, a light wash and a set of freshies. How do you handle your rigs during race day to keep them A1 for podiums? Thank you again sir, remember, Lifes a garden -Dig it.
