Biggest take away from this video I am noticing in the comments is about how I called everyone cyborgs ahah Just think about it for a second tho, your phone is a custom digital extension of your personality. Majority of people with a smartphone can't leave their home without it, they feel like a vital part of them is missing. Your phone is a main form of communication, entertainment, access to information, and transportation of some people (uber/lyft). The phone is as attached to you as it can get without being literally under your skin. My hypothesis is that everyone with a smartphone is already a cyborg.
@DaanBrandt
@DaanBrandt 5 лет назад
Or you could say that instead of a cyborg it is more like an AI. Since the continues communication and information exchange, makes learning or creating perspectives or ideas and the development of it possible in a matter of less then a year outside ones own mind. And Since we just deliver a building block or relationship between buildingblocks just like the world around us does for us. The internet with it's connected servers and links forms an AI. With servers being the neurons and the connections in-between the synapses. With ip addresses some way of creating new paths on it's own to supply quicker and more efficient links.

I have my BSEE and work in manufacturing for the hygiene market. The part about engineers hate being told they're wrong is true, but as long as you provide evidence we'll usually rethink the approach. I agree that some of the theories and ideas they bring up go way beyond my understanding of physics, but I also think that they use "fluffer" words to make it more difficult to understand on purpose. That way the average viewer doesn't really stop to question it. Sheldon routinely takes jabs at engineering throughout the series, but some of the comments are hard truths lol. My favorite was when he was talking to Howard and says, "I have never said that you are not good at what you do. it's just that what you do is not worth doing."
@parychahal
@parychahal 5 лет назад
I 100% agree with you about providing evidence and rethinking the approach. Yeah I saw that episode too and felt that in my heart ahah The extra stuff I've also seen to be true, somewhere in the video I even said "I have no idea what this means" or something like that because they do just throw in some big words for "fluffer". After this a lot of my friends call me an Oompa Loompa of science and I can't disagree with that really!!

I have an engineering degree. I'd admit I've learnt almost everything I know about Space, biology, & subatomic physics on my own. We're so far away from designing a spacecraft to travel to other galaxies near speed of light, using time delation that engineers ignore a lot of that kind of stuff. Engineers focus on forces in the real world, such as the earthquake in Turkey & Syria.

Once I had a very bright young man working in my section. I gave him initial instruction on using scripts to run backups, how to use Excel formulas to automate tasks .. all the cool things to make the job easier. Since he was so bright he bought books on coding and was soon coming to me to show me how he had improved the coding on something. I could have been upset because the 'student' had bypassed the 'master'. My brain didn't work that way. I would be happy to see the improvement .. look at it .. then improve on his improvement. To me that made perfect sense .. each of us prompting the other to improve. I think in large part it was simply the challenge that made it fun. I think ... that if someone feels threatened by another pointing out your errors and how to improve on something that you might feel the other is superior to you. Me .. I just took it as a challenge.

Usually cell division happens only on earth because of a specific sequence. So don't have duality principals everywhere. So if life is needed on other planets you have to create force field sequences. Just like how genes sequences are possible. Do they ever have a number sequence for genes. You have other things like Euler's. Usually a gene sequence is associated with the number of surface frequencies of earth. Duality is something to do with the moon and that's why they face the Earth in the same direction.

Yes, someone pointing out mistakes in your work is inevitable and can be very constructive and potentially save months, even years of time, which would otherwise be "wasted". I say wasted because there was nothing to gain from figuring out a mistake then, when it could be now... ok... with that said, there is a right way and a wrong way to point someone's mistakes out. You can do it with couth and respect or you can do it with the opposite, uncouth and without any respect and taking a mans life work and boiling it down to puppet theatre, acting like that will net you zero friends and work partners because noone likes someone who acts that way when there is zero meed for it.

If your an engineer or a physicist and you can’t except the possibility that you might not be right or heading in the right direction. Well your pretty bad at your job know? I mean sure they can be disappointed but I would think having an open mind is a pretty big fucking part of your job description

My experience is that engineers earn considerably more than scientists. But maybe that is only at private high-tech companies, not in universities.
