@@BlyGuyBecause obviously the way you do BVR engagements needs you to fully understand your aircraft and weapon. The stuff in dcs are only used from public infos. real life might be way better. for example a MAR for a aim120c in dcs up at 30k feet is around 30 miles. But real life might be 50 or 80. But only the real pilots know that. So when you get into a fight all of a sudden you start defending at 50 miles where the missile only has that kind of performance in real life then you can get into a lot of trouble. Beucase many countries will be watching and thats why its classified.

Hi Hasard. The first video deals with a F/A-18 Swiss Hornet. The solo display pilot does a demonstration in the heart of the Swiss Alps. Specifically on a shooting range named AXALP. This aerial show takes place every year and fighter planes make real shots at targets in the mountains. Trust me, a spectacular time to live !

@PhycoKrusk
@PhycoKrusk Год назад
I think that has definitely become even more popular after Growling Sidewinder started experimenting with it after it was shown in the movie, and especially after he showed that yes, in fact, it does work as long as you manage the asymmetry. Just remember kids: If you are going to try this in DCS (or any sim, really), don't actually move the throttles asymmetrically. Just pull the burner from the side you want to turn towards and be ready to flick it back on so you don't flat spin. And don't forget that the further apart your engines are, the more effective the maneuver will be.

Hi Hasard, Thanks for all the US aviation and fighter pilot content, I’ve been watching for a while and love seeing the difference with the UK where I’m at. I’m 18 and last summer did my first solo flight in a glider with the cadets, before that I had a pretty strong desire to fly fast jets as the RAF calls them, but the solo solidified that passion even more. Thanks for all the content, it helps sometimes when I’m stuck at college doing my A levels, and need to remember what I’m putting all this work in for. Rob

The first clip was a Swiss Air Force vintage F/A-18 during the annual Axalp "Fliegerschiessen" in the Swiss alps. It includes target practice with the gun in between the air show elements as shown in this clip. There are quite some spectacular maneuvers to be seen, as the Swiss really know how to get the most out of the original Hornet in a confined space between two mountains and I'd love to hear your comments about it. 😊

I am truly appreciative of the hard work and sacrifice that you and your camarades have made, serving our country, and you can bet I already pre-ordered your book -- I cannot wait to read about your stories! Fun fact: I work on the F-35 project at Northrop Grumman ... so in a unique way, we have one less degree of separation than I would've thought. Two favorite memories of being in junior high...career day when my classmate's dad came in who was fighter pilot and wore jumpsuit(not sure if that's the right term) and brought his helmet and talked to us and when they had Marines come and teach us how to properly raise, lower and fold the American flag. One of my favorite arcade games growing up...After Burner. Don't you have to be careful standing around the jets...I saw a video of a guy getting sucked into the engine on an aircraft carrier who stood up too close to it but lived.

Hi Hasard! Question: how different is the training for the three variants of the F-35? Do pilots just do the same training no matter where they go? Or are they separated so navy folks train carrier landings, marines do VTOL, etc? Maybe a common part and then specializations? Thanks for your videos! Really interesting :)
@Dev-In-Denver123
@Dev-In-Denver123 Год назад
Every training squadron has its own training regimen because they're all led by different people. This especially includes training for different types of aircraft. I'm no instructor but my father, Lt Col. Dave Leazer has been an f-16 instructor since the early 90's, just retired a few years ago.

Iirc, in US service the A is Air Force, the B is Marines, and the C is Navy. Naval Aviator training (that the Marines also go to) is different from the Air Force Pilot training, so that would be one key difference. Then on top of that, in each school Navy or AF you'd learn the basics of flight, then get selected for your airframe and move on to how that works. In normal circumstances airframe classes are separate, so a Super Hornet class wouldn't learn with an E-2 class, theyd teach each other stuff thats unnecessary, so becides the overall avionics being very similar, i doubt the Marines and Navy F-35 pilots learn with each other, and for sure the Air Force guys are on a whoke seperate base.
