Mike you need to invest in jack stands to allow easier access under the car and they are safe, also if you have a dip stick use that as a line for the oil to to trail down into the filler section (less mess). Great car for the money, wish we could buy something like that for the money in Australia.
Nice bro. I had a 2001 Surburban 4x4 with the 5.3. Made it to over 500,000 miles on original engine and transmission. I used it as a work truck and abused the crap out of it. The rest of the truck started to fall apart, but the drivetrain & engine held strong to the end. Big fan of the 5.3 Vortec
Thank you! It feels so nice to know I finally have a back up. Last year was such a struggle for me & my cars. I never want to be in a position again where I have no car and need to find something.
Thanks for the video Mike, I love Chevy, Have 6.0 Vortec now, but really loved all the 454's before, found some Hooker headers at the shop the other day from one of them, wonder if they fit on a 5.3
I have owned a 1999 GMC Sierra Long Bed in the past, which was similar. The new Tahoe is a 2005 4x4 model. I’ve done some light reading about mods for the 5.3L.
I learned to work on my cars last year when I had no choice. I bought 7 cheap, broken cars last year just to get by. Recorded it all if you ever want to go back and watch.
That’s why you watch Mr. T! A backup car is something I never want to be caught without after the year we had in 2022. I can sleep easy at night knowing I finally put another car next to the Camry in my driveway.
@porsche911fan2 i can get a 2 ton jack for trucks to lift it and make it easier. Lifting the truck would be expensive but it would look cooler. Right now its fine though.
