DUI and then fleeing the scene should be treated the same as first degree attempted murder.

I don’t care if the lady was drunk or not. It’s no excuse for her behavior and sitting there laughing while that child could’ve been dying.. She took it as a damn joke and then had the nerve to say I’m a celebrity. I’m a mom. I have a child.. how about if somebody hit your kid almost killed them and kept away acting like nothing happened. She’s a scumbag. Pure trash. And I hope the victim and his family win the lawsuit because of this footage from the body cam and that a judge will take consideration how she sat there laughing the entire time acting a fool. No remorse, no empathy or sympathy whatsoever. She figured she was gonna get off and go home.. even when they told her the person could be dead she didn’t. She had one tear. But as soon as they put them handcuffs on all the crocodile came running like a damn faucet..

Agreed that the rookie/trainee should _never_ have administered the FSTs for a case that serious. Agreed that she did a poor job of it. Disagree that no prison time was okay. I thought she was going to get five years in jail, not on probation. A spinal fracture? Maybe that teenager will never walk again. Maybe he lost the lacerated kidney. I would be astonished if he doesn't have lifelong sequelae from this. In any event, as far as I am concerned that celebrity nobody has ever heard of should have been sentenced to at least a year in jail.

I know that all cases are different, But I was driving at night on a side street, next thing I knew there was a big bang, I emergency stopped. When I exited my car I found a 16yo boy lying beside rhe kerb. His electric scooter (not a hire one) was dark grey, the boy had dark clothes with his hoodie up, no lights. When the police were called I was breathalised with a zero count (UK) But the police still attempted to charge me with wreckless driving causing injuries. Thank god for my dashcam, it did not pick up the boy on the scooter. His clothes colour plus the colour of his scooter perfectly blended in with the colour of the road. The young lad suffered a broken pelvis by hitting the kerb. Even though I had the dash cam footage, I was still put through the horrors of being placed before the courts, which ended up a not guilty verdict. These scooters are dangerous and should never be allowed on the roads

Doesn't matter if it a scooter. Keep eyes out for pedestrian walking or in scooters.

I had the same thought. I don't drink at all and I'm pretty sure I would fail that test just based on ADHD reasons. They give so many instructions, so quickly, and not super clearly. I'd be very unsure as to what I was supposed to be doing.

Crazy question, but in court (like this would ever get to court), could you question her BAC level seeing as it was taken so long after the accident? Also, OMG her BAC was still going up after over an hour. Way too much to drink.
