Driver Defense Team is a Chicago-based criminal defense law firm that primarily defends driving-related offenses such as DUIs, traffic tickets, and accidents. We are a 30-person team defending thousands of clients each year and appearing in courthouses each day. We work hard to get the best outcome possible for our clients.
In our videos, we break down the law, the defenses, the penalties, and other important information about all types of legal issues. The lawyers in our office enjoy doing "reaction" videos where we give you our real thoughts and reactions to arrest videos. There is no scripting or acting here -- we don't have time for that.
So no matter whether you want to learn more about the law, want to hire a lawyer, or just want to see how lawyers think, our goal is to provide you the best information (and entertainment!).
Our family used to have a bowling alley. Had an arcade and two full size billiard tables and one snooker table. 2-3 nights a week there would be gentlemen just like this guy playing snooker. I don't remember any of them drinking. If they did it far and few between. So for those that think nobody plays billiards (pool) sober... It very much is a thing. 5:19 While the head lamp is cause for a stop. However in TN crossing the line is not cause, provided another motorist does not have to deviate from their line of travel.
I would suggest that someone keep track of the number of field tests given where the driver actually passes. I assume it is low, once they decide to test, the decision has been made. The field sobriety test is designed to make failure a given.
Every time he asks her to do something, he is getting her used to complying. That habit of saying yes will have some influence on her compliance with a breath or blood test.
I don't understand why it takes 5 months to get a blood test back the hospital in my area can test blood anytime day our night and give a answer in 15 minutes for alcohol. People do need to be careful with prescription medication if tell you on the bottle not to operate heavy machinery you can get a DUI and I personally think when you get a medical marijuana card you should be made by law to have to surrender your drivers license and the right to have a registered car in you name people think it's ok to drive with marijuana in your system just because they have a card I have a grand daughter 6 feet in the ground because of this BS the girl that hit came across 4 lanes to hit her head on she did get 4 and a half years to 6 and a half years in jail and lost her driving privileges for her life time
MADD should permanently disqualify any officer who loses a DUI case; gamifying something that can have such a huge impact on someone's life is wrong. Take for example the pig cow that flipped a coin to decide on arresting someone.
PBT’s should be mandatory in all states. If you are claiming someone is under the influence of alcohol and they are willing to submit to tests, it should be mandatory to prove probable cause beyond the subjective test with no actual skills to make determinations.
You see that bracelet the cop has on, it tells you everything you need to know. He is a blue line gang member and doesn’t care about the law. He wants to be captain cop and make as many arrests as possible. It is no longer about protecting and serving. It is about generating revenue for their department and be the top cop.
His comments @1:12 around MADD paying these LEOs for arrests vs convictions around DUI/DWI can effect the cop's actions and SHOULDN'T be allowed. I brought this up many times at our city's public comment period at meetings and I wish more people would speak-up on this matter. We should also speak-up around the contracts between the Police Union and these cities we live in allowing these LEOs to be held accountable for their actions
This police officer should definitely be in a Daycare centre one more time and i definitely agree for the boy to files a law suit on this no good for nothing officer
That you have to wait months for a blood test to come back is ridiculous. They can get them back quicker if they want. They don't care because it's not them waiting to get their name cleared, and there is no consequences for the police or prosecutor. It's a numbers game. Chances are nowadays, if you test enough ppl, you will find some have something in their system. Even if it's a legal prescription. When you let probable cause be based entirely on objective observation, and not something that can be tested, you get cops just saying they smell something, or eyes are glassy or bloodshot. I mean to what degree.
The comment "Never known a sober person to shoot pool." represents many bad things. The biggest is that this officer will roll up on a scene and immediately draw conclusions before looking at the facts. It also means that any facts that doesn't support his conclusion must be either irrelevant or false. I hope this officer NEVER becomes a detective, because he will commit all sorts of atrocities and claim it was a pursuit of Justice.
I don’t understand, first the police tell him to leave and then when he starts to leave, all he** breaks loose !! The police need to make up their minds !!! Good grief 😱🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
Many states don't mandate a driver consent to a FST. I've refused a FST and cop goes berserk, besides providing required paperwork I also inform cop I decline to answer questions. The cop then started getting very angry and lying. My dash cam blew them away
In our CONSTITUTION it says that we do not have to have Drivers License to travel on our daily life activities. Unless we are working an our job requires transporting goods, people, or chemicals. Or we work for the cooperation of the United States. CITIZENS do not have to have a drivers license, tag, stickers, or insurance to travel. Is that Is that not true we are are Citizens right?
Still yet the person has to bail out and get their vehicle out of impound that all costs money. Still yet hire a lawyer and all that to get charges dropped they don't get the money back it takes to prove they are not drunk or on anything
I have 5 rods in my neck it has been operated on 3 times, both my shoulders have been operated on and I have had my leg broke. My ankles will twist and I will stumble. I cant pass a field sobriety test either sober
I was charged with DUI 2nd offense which is a felony here in Oklahoma. I was charged based on my prior conviction, the officer fabricated probable cause for arrest. I refused all testing, no open containers, no bad driving, no admission to drinking, where I was coming from, was headed to a friends house, refused the circus test. No drugs in the car. I’m being prosecuted based on the officers training & my refusal to take any test😂
It is the lawyers fault for not going after these officers for the crimes they commit doing this. And why after it is a common that they arrest people for no reason.
MADD should only pay put on CONVICTIONS. Otherwise cops don't care if you are innocent, you may beat the charge but you can't beat the ride. Wasted time, wasted money.
Absolutely not a just result because the taxpayers paid that half million dollars. Both officers should have been charged with the crimes they committed, false imprisonment, kidnapping, deprivation of rights, ag assault, and I am sure there are more. They should have been arrested and the money paid out of their retirements. I also believe they should have had their license revoked to be law enforcement because they clearly do not have the mental capacity to be a cop. They for sure don’t have the discipline to carry a weapon and be counted on for heroics.
Police like to claim they are "experts" in everything. Their expertise relies mostly on personal bias and nothing actual scientific. Bias of getting recognized with a reward or promotion. Arrest for DUI, ruin a person's life, get the reward and let the courts figure it out.
Claiming it takes a long time to get the blood test back is an absolute lie. Any time I go to the hospital they do a drug test on me and it is to them within minutes of taking my blood. The cops could easily take these people to a hospital and have the results back to them in minutes. So please don’t lie for the police and them arresting people just to arrest them.
I had a severe problem in the part of my brain responsible for balance, posture, all that fun stuff. During my therapy sessions there were a few times I would jokingly say that I'm doing better but I'd probably fail a field sobriety test miserably.
MADD don't care about convictions, they just want arrests. Dumb mothers. How about start an award program for cops who make arrests that actually result in convictions, and punish cops that make false arrest?
Cops abuse dui laws to take away your driving privileges and face no consequences for making KNOWINGLY false arrests Cops will abuse “baker act” and similar laws meant to help people in order to take away their weapons Your second amendment is exactly that: second. The first thing they’ll go for is your first amendment. You don’t have a right to obstruct, loiter, or assault a cop? Those fuckers can’t make me leave a public area - they ain’t getting help from me. Give up your freedom for security and you deserve neither
