Priscilla you are lovely and so brave! From a fellow Lady Heretic- remember, we make the clothes, the clothes do not make us. No matter how much they cost- they're going to be beautiful because you are in them
Thank you Priscilla. I love your sensitivity. I have a scarcity issue, too, and it’s been a challenge to purge my closet of things. I did something similar to what Rita said. I wore my favorite things in the style I want develop, and meanwhile just put the others in the back of my closet. At the same time, I challenged myself just to choose one thing at a time to purge, like from one drawer, something stained for example, too small, or too hard to wash, or that is totally impractical for my present life, something that required little thought, rather than something I am unsure about, and rather than to do it all at once. It became easier and easier after that, as I developed confidence to purge fabrics and colors that don’t suit my style. Now I have developed momentum, and I fill one small bag a week for charity. The more I wear the fabrics/patterns/shapes/styles/colors I love, the easier to see how I don’t need the others anymore. But I went easy on myself at first because I am so sensitive and get super emotional and insecure about giving things away! I decided it’s ok to go slowly if I am sensitive, rather than to do nothing at all toward my goal. The important thing is I wear what makes me feel great now and that’s become my teacher. It slowly becomes clear to me then what doesn’t fit in my wardrobe.
I finally took donated five extra large trash bags full of clothing a couple weeks ago. I have no idea how all of it even fit it in my closet. It was hard to motivate myself at first too, but I am loving having a streamlined closet. My plan is that I will donate something any time I add something new to my closet so I can slowly replace the things that are just “good enough” with things I actually love.
Ha ha I feel invested in Priscilla now. I know it's probably not possible but I'd love to see an update a year on to see where she is in her style process. Chuck that first bag Priscilla! Yay you can do it!!! 👍🥰😘😁👏🎉
I think Priscilla was so brave sharing her vulnerability with us. Thank you to her for doing this. I see she is a beautiful soul and I hope she gets to a place that her style helps her feel powerful.
Thank you, Rita for showing us a Lady Heretic style session! I have really been wanting more examples of brands, celebrities and real life examples. Priscilla looks so elegant and amazing in this video. I could relate to so much she was saying. The scarcity mindset is something I have also struggled with. I have one question for Rita- could you please break down Angelina Jolie’s casual outfits and say why she is Lady Heretic/Left Up? Her everyday style is monochromatic and relaxed with no visual interest, especially compared to celebrities like Solange Knowles. It would be great to get a comparison with other Lady Heretic celebrities like Cate Blanchett (my favourite), Jenna Coleman, Anya Taylor Joy and Rosamund Pike.
Thanks Priscilla! So much of your struggle resonated with mine without being able to really be sure of what was going on. Defining power as elegance and being put together was a super interesting moment! I always feel like I need to be a bit more put together but never quite thought of it as a way to feel powerful, more of a way to not give any reasons of mockery to others, but actually, it makes a lot of sense to think of it as being powerful and not helpless. Thanks so much for sharing and showing vulnerability to others. I think it helps a lot. ^^ And as always, thank you Rita for this wonderful content that guides so well!
Ladies, that was amazing! I learned and understood so much about myself and the system. I resonate a lot with Priscilla. Thank you for your courage. I am sure you will look stunning in your clothes soon, but looking at the video, you already are! 💜
Priscilla you are so lovely! Not only on the outside, but you give off a uniquely open, authentic and endearing energy :) A lot of us can relate! You both are awesome and I really enjoyed this video!
