This is the most perfect guide for blades, thank you so much, this is exactly what I needed cuz I wasn't sure what blade I wanted/needed for my saber. Love your content man
It’s pretty awesome!!! I know most of what was gone over in this vid as I also did a ton of research on(kudos to you! It’s a lot🤣) but I always love watching your vids!!! The editing and cuts are awesome 👌🏾👍🏾!!! I’m going to be getting a lathe pretty soon and giving some hilts a go!!! So I understand as a new builder and keep it up man!!! Great vid!!
@6:03... regarding polycarbonate... ideally it should be fully anneal but I doubt anyone would do that for a light saber; a properly annealed polycarbonate blade would make it much less prone to tracking.
All I want to ask is Are the legacy lightsabers worth it over the price of others I want a replica one that works but I don’t want to pay hundreds abs hundreds
I haven’t seen a video in a long time. The last video I watched was just after his first stream that I watched I believe. I now see how much I have been missing out on...
Just a note with the tips, parabolic tips are more accurate to the movies but are more likely to fly off the end of your blade. So if you want accuracy and don't plan on dueling, get a parabolic tip but if you want to be able to duel, get a round tip. Also if you have an in hilt LED (a flashlight style) then make sure the tip has a mirror on the inside to bounce the light back and evenly light your blade. If you are building a neopixel blade then you want to be able to put one of the neopixel LEDs in the tip so either order one a tip without a mirror or remove it.
@@DonnyDrake06 flashlights generally have something in them that spreads out the light but you want the opposite when lighting up a lightsaber blade so if you could get one of those flashlights that has a very focused beam that'll work better. Also be sure to have some diffusion paper in the lightsaber blade.
Brother your content is fantastic - I’ve been collecting light sabers for 2 decades and I’m completely impressed by how you organize present teach and celebrate the Star Wars we enjoy I-R-L :-)
I wonder. I just built a PC with RGB strips inside the case. The type of RGB strips that look like a solid bar of light. What makes me wonder is, they use a very durable defusing material in the RGB strips, I don't see any reason it couldn't go into Pixel blades to make them more durable than standard in-hilt lighted blades. (For reference search amazon for "Airgoo pc led strip")
Really excited to find an account that's super modern and beginner-friendly. I just purchased a vintage Graflex on eBay out of impulse a couple days ago and now I'm challenged to turn it into a neopixel. Can't wait for more videos along this building journey.
So for either type of blade, how do they connect to the hilt? I have always wondered how someone swings their hilt and the blade doesn’t come flying out.
I spent a year building the best lightsaber I ever used. Finally got it into manufacturing. First shipment is in two weeks. If you wanted to showcase it let me know. I could send you one for free
This is quite helpful, i want to make a custom one from a Star Wars RPG Campaign i did. The only issue is figuring out what size would be good for a heavy/broadsword lightsaber.
I commented in one of your previous videos about my lightsaber building experience. One method you did not mention because it is out of style these days is a plasma bulb. Very much a display or a cosplay-type blade, with no impact resistance at all, but IMO it is the best possible blade look you can get. You can control the amount of time it takes for the blade to extend and then retract and it looks like a real lightsaber. Check it out. I'm sure you can find a video of it out there somewhere.
FYI the decrease in brightness with heavy grade/thick walled blades is much less dramatic with clear blades, since the clear material doesn’t limit the light as much as extra frosted/white material.
SWIRL, I miss your videos. You’ve been my favourite RU-vidr, I’m just not interested in this series, and haven’t been watching them. Please, please, please can you make something else alongside this series?
Where can I get a saber set up that has that lighting effect and other goodies like flame effect, unstable saber effect, and other like the rainbow change?
