Jumping spiders are my favorite. They know when they're being watched and will show off for you. Had one I caught and was letting it crawl on my hands and arms, then I let it go. Few moments later it was on the arm of my lawn chair just looking at me. Amazing creatures.
i hate the facts that arachnophobia exists. i know i would be scared as hell if i had this spider in front of me ;w; i kinda agree, even if i found them creepy when i see them irl
My pet jumper was a beautiful boy. He would wave at me, copy me, and would jump to the bottom of his enclosure for me to drop in his meals. Never tried to get out. Best pet ive had
They don't bite but only in extremely rare circumstances. They're super docile and more like a cat or dog. I was once bitten by one and it literally just itched and got a little red for a day or so.
@@somesweetguy To see them in a video is a lot different to deal with them in real life cause I wouldn't go near that spider I wouldn't even go in his place if he told me he had them in enclosures or not.
@Sweet Do you have a word for fearing/getting irrationally angry at the majority of spider breeds except some of the Salticidae family? Because until such a word becomes clear, I'm just going to keep calling it arachnophobia. I'm not going to say I'm not arachnophobic when if its not this kind of jumping spider shape, I freak out at best and smash everything at worse.
Sweet some people deal with or react to phobias and fears differently. While you may be like that, others might not be. It all depends on the person! :3 I don’t have arachnophobia, but I do have a phobia of needles. I can’t stand the sight of them and I usually break down into screaming or tears (yes, A bit dramatic), however most cases I have heard people usually just pass out. So mine is bad but not bad enough for me to faint apparently, though when school shots were going on where there was multiple in the same day/time frame, The nurses told me I was starting to look pale after 3 shots, like I was about to faint. It didn’t happen but I think I came pretty close that day. That was a couple years ago and haven’t come close to fainting again, so maybe I’m getting better?
I've had some really neat experiences with jumping spiders. There was one who just didn't want to leave my hand, even when I gently put her on the opposite side of the picnic table. She would just come back over and over. I had a real sense of intelligence behind those eyes and a sharing of a special moment. They are also so beautiful.
all spiders enjoy the temperature mammal bodys are giving off, as they are exothermic so she probably used u to heat up herself. i had the same experience as a child when a tarantula that was given to me just wouldnt leave my hand. Very enjoyable!
I freak out. Have a staring contest. Then we part ways awkwardly. After a couple days we meet again several times. And then by then she is my roommate.
I am so creeped out by spiders, almost hate them. Would never kill them though. BUT, jumping spiders are ADORABLE!! The way they have to move their heads to look around because of those two big puppy dog eyes! This is almost in the same way that I hate bees and wasps and any stinging, biting flying insects; BUT, i LOVE honey bees. So adorable as well. Little flying furry teddy bears.
They really are a lot like puppy dogs! They're really playful and affectionate, they like to play hopping and web shooting games, can see that you're another sentient being and interact very much. They're like the tiniest companion animals, lol! So damn cute & smart!!
When I was a kid (growing up in mid-Florida on the Gulf Coast) there were many of these little jumping spiders that I used to play with - they were friendly and so cute!
@@genabargay4391 Oh that's wonderful! I used to have beautiful black and red 'Hoppers' that would come into my house they track me around the room, hang on a wall and watch me. Sometimes they'd jump on me to walk around. I'm glad somebody came up with Lucas and discovered the charm of these little guys! After watching them for a while I'm sure they could cure any arachnophobe no matter how scared they are.
They have insanely focused eyes also. More than any spider out there. Imagine pidgeon eyes on a tiny insect. That's them. Given that, I'm thankful that they're super nice spiders.
@@Ferro2155 From everything I've read and watched, they have some of the best eyesight in the spider family. And they seem to have higher intelligence as well. Once they spot prey, they use their eyes and brain to map out a 3D course to sneak up on said prey. However, they are covered in hair. And I would wager that they can also detect vibrations using those as well. Like spiderman's spidey sense. Edit:. Here's a neat video about jumping spiders. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UDtlvZGmHYk.html
@@Ferro2155 absolutely! I plan on maybe getting a regal jumping spider as a pet soon. It's strange and sort of out of character for me, but I just think they're freaking adorable. I've been looking into them for a few months now - I wanna make sure the little guy (or girl, who are way cuter) has a good home. Not that you care about any of this, just feeling talkative. Take care friend
Jumping Spiders are my absolute favourite out of all arachnids. It's the eyes and their mandibles that hook me in, and the way they tilt and turn and swivel is just adorable. Shes a lucky girl to be in your care!
@@seanrallis6714 lmao the spider obviously would have thought that she caught it herself because its still alive so to her that would be hunting theres no difference. "TaLk AbOuT dUmB"
@@benji7275 Duh, obviously. Clearly, somebody clearly has no understanding of humor, or no knowledge of pop culture. Perhaps both. Google "t rex doesn't want to be fed... he wants to hunt" and you will get the reference.
She is sooo precious and your loving and gentile interaction with her is priceless! I would so totally be your assistant!! I adore when she waves at you it is just perfect. First time seeing you and your knowledge and appreciation for this wonderful species is amazing. The love and care you put into their enclosures is priceless. Love everything about them and you. God bless you and your 8 legged companions!
U have really made me like spiders, i look at your videos everyday. Like wtf... I have a fobia for spiders.. and now i just want to touch and look at them 👌🏻
Sanne Gustafsson ....that’s great, now hopefully you will think twice before killing them...they don’t want to bother you, they just want to eat the bad bugs that bug us! Hooray for spiders! And if you don’t kill them every time you see them, then I apologize...all the best!
I never liked spiders either.. they always fascinated me though but since watching this video for the first time a few months ago I now own 3 of my own and will hopefully be getting a 4th in the next few days and possibly a 5th next month.. 🙈 if you get one beware they're addictive because they're so damn cute!! 😍
Luca (Female version of Lucas 😂) Bella (means beautiful) Rogue (I just really like that name) Lula. I can't believe Im suggesting names because I have a terrible fear of spiders lol! But the more I watch these videos, the more comfortable Im getting with them
first video of yours i watched, loved the content, format, and everything. cute lil spider, hope shes still doing well... anyways u just got a subscriber!
Love jumping spiders. They have so much character. Years ago, my husband and I watched a black one with green eyes catch a fly mid-air off of our bathroom window sill. It was incredible. This was long before I kept spiders as pets but the fascination was ever present. All our spiders were "free roaming" and this particular moment frozen in my memory was such an unexpected treat.
Seriously! Jumping spiders are adorable! I have bad arachnophobia but I have started finding spiders interesting. I have come to like some of them like tarantulas and appreciate them, but these little jumping spiders are extremely cute! I love how they have really beautiful, metallic looking fangs in various gorgeous colors and also how prominent their eyes are!
@@VidralliaArchives Awesome! I think channels like this are doing a lot for helping people with a fear of spiders, and other things. 👍 I've seen quite a few people comment that their fear and phobia is getting much better from watching channels this. Seeing these creatures and learning about them I feel really does help.
oh just you wait, they do a thing where they grab water droplets and put them on their heads as little hats for some reason. its actually the most adorable thing ever
I’ve been watching you and a few other tarantula keepers for a while now. Initially it was curiosity and then it was interest and it soon became complete love. I’m happy to say that I got my very first T today and I am looking forward to watching them grow and just be them beautiful selves over the next many years! Thank you for all your information and for showing us that these beautiful creatures are more than just creepy crawlers. I appreciate your work so much.
i love jumping spiders :D they’re so smart , docile, and curious so docile and curious were it’s easy to hold on in the wild i’ve done it before just hold your hand out and they’ll be like “ooooo a new platform” and jump on your hand its so cute
Jumping spiders are my favorite. I get visits from them outside and we interact with each other. It’s a wonderful time when we do. Thanks for sharing your beautiful friend with us! 👍❤️😎
when i was like 13 i remember seeing a rather big looking spider outside my cousins house it had such a soft looking abdomen and i actually gently pet its abdomen and it was SOOO silky and soft to the touch. i thought spiders were more bristly then that but i was quite surprised.
7:09- If you pause the video at this time, it looks the the spider has one eyebrow & 2 tiny eyes, her/his mouth is straight (kind of makes it look like he/she is a little upSet) && it also has a goatee/beard!!! Lol
I've always noticed how the jumping spider has a cute face like how you mentioned. I wish they were a bit bigger. This one is very small and very cute.
That what I named my mantis.she passed away last year.I miss her even know she liked my girlfriend more than she liked me and I fed her daily lol.she would always chill on her chest and watch her.
I don’t like to say something is more intelligent than the other, because everyone is smarter in their own way. The only reason humans seem smart, is because we’re comparing ourselves with everything else. If we just looked at humans, we’d seem pretty stupid, just like how spiders are intelligent, but seem less smart, only when compared to something smarter
Kiwi is so adorable!!! I love jumpers... while sitting on my porch one jumped on me and crawled all over my arms and hands!!! I was enchanted!!! She was so fuzzy and cute! It made my day🖤🖤🖤🖤
I have arachnophobia and that's why I started watching your channel. You do have some "beasts" I wouldn't probably be able to stay in the same room with, but this little one is adorable :)
@Pasteloween All spiders are venomous, but not all spider venom will affect humans. Jumping spiders won't affect humans with their venoms and their bites will feel like a small mosquito bite, itching for a couple of days
@Pasteloween as likely as any other spider species. As long you don't agitate them too much, you'll be okay 😊 that goes for all species too. Treat them with respect and they won't feel the need to hurt you in defence
@lalybum yeah. my brother told me that he once saw a small wild jumping spider tackle a huge horsefly. The fly tried to escape, but the spider was too heavy, and both fell to the ground, fighting for their lives. The spider's venom won. He tells me it was amazing to watch.
All spiders are, yeah. But most aren't dangerous. She's definitely harmless. I don't even know if she can bite hard enough to penetrate and her venom is probably weak shit that you wouldn't even notice.
She is so beautiful Petko. So happy to see her rehomed. They love to explore and climb! They are so different to Ts and I see them as a "domesticated spiders"🤣 lol
She is so freaking cute. I want to get my own jumping spider. You know I used to be really scared of spiders and bugs but I enjoy watching your videos so much. I still dont think I would even hold a T but I think some are so beautiful and I love watching them do what they do in your videos !!!
I found a jumping spider in my house. It looked so cute! I kept getting closer and closer to look at it and BOOM! It jumped right into my face. Scared the bleep outta me.
This was Adorable AF 🥺 I'm scared of spiders but the whole entire video I kept saying "awwww~" 😂💖 she so Adorable I just want to tbbsttavravqrwwwdylubd, azacehtkukybqfrjrxqdtgwqfevjyh qswwwqwttrqtujyvd!!! 😵🥰💖💖💖😂
I just love the way you take such care and love of our adorable little eco managers. I love handling them and how they look straight at you. I’ve always lived spiders.
I helped a little jumping spider that was trapped in my bathtub by getting it to ride on a bit of toilet paper and then just released it on the floor. For the past few days I've seen it hanging out on top of a paper roll in my toilet. I guess that shows their curiosity.
This was a really nicely done video, lots of great shots of Kiwi! How do you keep the plants alive, without making the container too wet, daily misting or..?
I used to hate jumping spiders but now I want one 😂 I used to see them in my house all the time but now that I actually want to see them I don’t see them. I see other scary spiders 😔😂
As a kid I was terrified of spiders, unless it was a jumping spider. They were small in my area but I don't think that was the deciding factor. Maybe because there so gosh darn cute! Oh look at you! You look sooooo much like Lucas! Yes you do! I'm not nearly as afraid of spiders, just don't touch them and catch and release if I find them in my home. Long live Lucas! =]
