Very Clever ! They saved all the assembly labor costs by shipping you the items separately, and employing you to do the assembly for free ! :-) Genius, true fans won't mind too much - but the suspense of waiting for the Discs - building up the drama so you are very happy when the discs arrive.

I completely _MYST out_ on the whole series until like a year and a half ago when I played MYST for the first time - in VR - and was absolutely blown away. Want to play the other games, but they have to be ported to VR first. Heard that some fans are remaking Riven and Cyan is working on a Myst III remake though, both supposed to have VR support. Currently playing Obduction and awaiting Firmament... I just love seeing stuff like this book (or the one that actually runs the games made by a fan a decade ago).

I just bought mine and the ink well. I paid 5 times as much as when it was originally released but I honestly am happy to have it in my collection. It was worth it to me.

In the second drawer, I put in all the supplemental parts from the retail versions of the games when releases previously.

They squeezed the entirety of Myst IV on a single disc? Must be dual-layer.

Those compartments that are empty would hold the pen and inkwell and come with the book.Only thing that didnt come included was the DVDs.

Just got mine today as well! Got my discs awhile ago. I think the compartments are for if you also purchased the inkwell and other physical items no?

I received mine today, I got the inkwell/pen. The extra storage was for those.

I gotta wonder if the Steam version of this would give access to this book. You get all of the games at once on Steam, but can you still get the book?

Hello fellow MYST fan. My daughter and I received the book, but the downgraded one (without the videos and screen). I have been a MYST fan since 1996. I turmed my daughter on to them when she was 8 and we've both been hooked. I didn't know when she joined the kickstarter that we weren't getting the complete book. I am working on adding a screen, but I am need the video(s) for my jerry rigging to work. Would you be willing to share the files for the linking book fly-byes?

So Myst is actually a game... I just read Myst book of Ti'ana and was confused at the end of the book. I would not say that it's a particularly bad book, neither was it extremely badly written, but it doesn't really follow any regular fantasy book unwritten rules. Which is kind of refreshing, but I still have unanswered questions and found some plot holes and never really understood where the book was trying to go because some scenes that were making me excited to read on were just kinda skimmed over and unimportant parts were over described and some characters appear for certain scenes and then are never mentioned again or we don't really find out what happened to them.

So. IF you see. How mutch did it cost? The screen is littel

OK I've only played the Original Myst, had a baby in '92 so that kept me pretty busy as they grow, and the 2nd one. But this book looks interesting with secret compartments. But the video screen just plays little video clips? It's not like a game itself and it's too small of a screen anyway. I'm not overly impressed. I was thinking the other day that it would be great to have a Physical Myst book or library of books. I think I would rather have like , a REAL book, with pages to turn, like the journal from the library with all the writing. Each book that was readable, with writing, sketches, images. When I played I don't think screen capture was an option, not that I was aware of anyway. So I grabbed a composition book and took extensive notes as I explored the island, copying scenes I saw and images from the books in the library so I could refer to my own notes to solve the puzzles and get around. Friend of mine who was also playing saw my notes and was amazed that I took such detailed notes and drawings. I would rather have a series of books for the Myst games, so we could build our own libraries and maybe some blank books for when we play the games for notes. Still could make them larger to fit secret compartments for each game or something like that. I've been following some bookbinding channels like Nik the Booksmith, I'm thinking something like this she could make easily but don't have the impression that she was ever a gamer type. So should there be one book for Myst, and one for Riven and so on? Or does each family member have a book, or would the Myst book be more like a case set with smaller books inside for each Age? I've only played that one game so I'm not sure the best way to organize it. Not sure if I'm even making sense. I just see this electronic bit failing at some point. And I think an actual sturdy Book book would last longer. I mean, it's been 2 years, do you still open it? Another great channel for all kinds of crafts including making books is NerdForge. OMG her books are amazing. She took a Harry Potter book and made a fancy leather cover for it. One of a kind works of art.
