I honestly think the reason is that other European clubs have become weaker while rm has kept it consistent, no Italian team is what it once was, united , arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona have their own managerial issues and even Bayern have been quite questionable recently but RM has managed, I'm not even writing this as a fan of the club

W as an actual Real Madrid fan. Unfortunately, winning a lot has made us attract a bunch of glory hunters with little football knowledge that live with Messi rent free inside their heads, so they hate him every time possible, ruining the reputation of the club and true fans. What people don't know is that every club will attract glory hunters as soon as they start winning a lot (Manchester City for example).

The team though is kinda suffering with the sheer amount of talent though. Housing the best players in each position and that’s not hyperbole, Madrid does have the single best players in each position, it’s kinda a problem now. We don’t know if we play someone like Arda or Rodrygo or Brahim or Camavinga. The team is so stacked that they kinda feel the pressure now. Unlike last year when yea Madrid was the best team, but with combination of injuries and wrong timing with the red cards, they were still able to play the underdog, even though man for man they were way superior than any team.

Everybody seems to call it robbed without knowing about the referee's big mistake by not blowing the whistle before that "robbed" incident, but people don't care because Real Madrid won the game. It means they don't pay to the club to buy him, Mbappé will receive around 100 million euros from Real Madrid to sign for them. 20 million euros each year of his contract which he signed until 2029 apparently. Plus his wages and bonuses are also going to be extremely high that not many other clubs could afford. So no, it is still a massively expensive signing.
