I drive a 2020 Tacoma TRD PRO. If I was buying a truck today it would be the Nissan hands down. I'll never buy new Tacoma again. Everything that made a Tacoma a Tacoma is gone.

My two Fourth gen were terrible. Thought the first was a lemon so we traded it after a couple years. Second was infinitely worse. Entire fuel system went at 1500 miles as went south from there.

I have just bought a 2023 Frontier Pro4x same color as yours with cloth, Fender Stereo and step rails. I too, have had a 2nd generation Frontiers and Xterra. They all were reliable for me. One amazing thing is I never needed an an alignment on any frontier or xterra, even after 225K miles. Frontier is I believe the only one sticking with a 6 cyl, without a turbo. Scotty Kilmer loves this truck.

I'm over 10K miles now and have been through the Wyoming BDR, WI national forests, and the UP of Michigan and it's done great through all that and been super comfy the whole time. Still loving it. Congrats on your truck!

Everyone else only wants to talk about off-roading or towing, I just need a comfortable on-road truck for long distance driving! My Taco is awful for that

Ha, awesome. Glad it was helpful. I’ve now put almost 20k miles on it and a lot of that was 8-10 hour days going out to WY or up to Michigan so it’s still super comfy and nice on those long trips.

The double planed windows along with some added insulation helps keep the cabin noise down it is a a very solid built midsize truck upgrading to nismo light weight heavy duty wheels & Bilstein designed upgraded adjustable nismo shocks with the resivoirs available at the dealership really increases already very good drive quality definitely worth it especially on a pro 4 x

Great points. People knock the 3rd gen for being similar to the 2nd gen, but the improvements they made, made a big difference and I actually like that they're similar because then the powertrain and motor are more proven, versus being completely new.

I've had Nissan trucks for years and never been disappointed. My 2023 Pro X is very good. I only wish they still offered a manual shift in any trim level. All the truck makers have forgotten the men who like a manual shift.

Drove my 2022 on a 5000+ mile road trip, pulling a lightweight travel trailer (under 2500 lbs). My fuel mileage dropped drastically to about 12.5 MPG using the Tow Mode. Used a weight distribution hitch. The back of the truck is really bouncy without the weight distribution bars. The bars acted like a dampener and took out a lot of the bounciness. Making the ride smoother and the truck easier to handle. It handled mountain passes like a dream. No problem pulling the trailer up, or controlling the speed going down. My average RPM in Tow Mode was around 2200 to 2500 RPM. There was one time I was bucking a head winded, and the RPMs increased to 3500 to 4500 RPMs. Still handled it like a champ. In Tow Mode, the acceleration was beautiful, I had no problems getting up to speed pulling the trailer. In a few months, I'll take down to southern Utah and Northern Arizona. Looking forward to that trip.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing. I've towed a Subaru Legacy on a 15 foot trailer but I only towed it about an hour away for a friend. The truck did great with it and tow mode did make a huge difference.

Looks like towmode is a gas eater i expect the tranny to not get near 3k rpm unless ur rig is way over 3500lb

I have a 2023 Pro 4X. I agree with all points. I did have a 2019 Tacoma and this Frontier is so much better. More power, more safety features, more comfort, quieter, and better MPG. I drove from Douglas, WY to Amarillo, Tx in about 12 hours pulling a small camper. I've driven it over the extremely rough terrain of Monument Valley. Yes it rode like a truck but was still comfy. I used the 360 camera in Valley of the Gods so I could see where the road went as I got to the top of the rise where the hood blocks your view. Did great in the high elevation of YNP. I'm totally pleased with this truck. Thanks for the review. Now I'll go watch your other reviews on it.

Nice! Sounds like you've put it through it's paces! I took mine to the WY BDR last July and it was great. Had a ton of fun and it performed flawlessly and got about 19-20 average MPG.

Nice truck. But since my kids are grown, I would opt for the loaded SV king cab with a 6 foot bed instead of the shorty 5 foot.

One thing to add about the heated steering wheel and heated seats... If it is below 32 F the truck will automatically turn on the the heated functions when remote starting! low this in cold weather!

I own a 2022 pro 4x, drive 1000 km every week for work and get 10.9/100km. Very comfortable, lots of power and turns heads. First Canadian winter with it so excited for that. Good job by Nissan.

Just bought my third new Nissan truck since 2014, all Frontiers, a few days ago. Bought the loaded PRO-4X in Cardinal Red and I LOVE IT!!! This is the hottest, toughest, meanest looking Frontier I've ever seen. It literally turns heads everywhere I go. Can't wait to test the off-road capabilities once the engine is properly broken in.

2023 with 4500 on the meter I love it. Just a good old truck with just the right amount of tech. I like the heavy feel of the steering wheel my other car is elect steering I can't feel the road.

Don't forget you used to be able to get both the 4.0 litre and the 2.5 litre engine with manual transmission. Miss that!

Came from 2017 Tacoma TRD pro to 2023 Frontier Pro4x. Massive improvement, only thing I miss is the electric rear window that was in the Tacoma. Which is not a big deal at all. Love the Frontier and have had no issues. Frontier is more comfortable. Yes it is a truck, and that is what I want. 18500 so far. Taken on both road trips and city driving.

Nice! Yeah, a lot of people do talk about no power rear window which would be awesome, but Nissan definitely skimps on stuff like that typically.

I have an 07 FJ with 230k miles. It’s still going strong but I need a small pickup because it’ll be easier with my job on the road, I’ve been looking at the frontier because it’s the only new modern truck that takes the simple approach and I actually like that

You may want to check the real actual MPG after filling up your gas tank. My 22 Frontier always registers 2.5 MPG more then it should. I always reset my trip odometer and when fill up gas I check the MPG. Display shows 23 mpg, reality is 20mpg.

Yeah, I’ll definitely check that out. Getting ready to go on a 4500 mile trip over two weeks with a lot of highway and off-roading so it’ll be interesting to see what I average.

Yep, it is high but I have done the math on some long mileage travels and gotten a high of 23.85 mpg doing the math! My 2nd gen would have just tucked it's tail and ran from those #'s! The absolute best thing is the range to empty is very accurate though. I was running a gap between exits coming through TN and had a stretch that was 26 miles to next exit with fuel. Low fuel light was on and once I dropped from low to dashes it last gave 47 miles to empty. I then drove around 7 miles to gas station and fueled. pump shut off at 19.1 gallons. The tank is a 21.1 empty displacement so that left 2 gallons to empty. So an avg of 20 mpg that checks out. I was able to get 405 miles out of that tank with 105 range to empty once. It depends on terrain, driving speed and load on chassis. I have put 16k miles on my 2023 Pro-4X since March so a lot of re-fueling and mileage data. All I can say is it is much improved over the old unit!

@@razor4432 yeah, it’s definitely way better than the second gens. I actually did some testing on my way to Wyoming and I was showing about 19.25 in Iowa through some hilly sections. Later in the trip, I was seeing about 21ish average so while the gauge may be a mile or two per gallon optimistic, it’s not terrible and way better than the old trucks for sure!

yup at least 2MPG for me. on my cross county trip it said it averaged over 23, but never hit 22. at any point. it may get 23, but hard to keep foot out of it when speed limit is 70/75/80. I knew I was buying a poor MPG vehicle, so not too disappointed with mpg.

Thanks, brother. Here's hoping you find the one you're looking for, the one that makes your heart beat a little faster every time you climb behind that wheel. This is my third Frontier, and while I've shopped around comparing Tacomas, Colorados, Canyons, and even Gladiators as potential replacements when I'm ready to buy again, I always wind up buying a Nissan. Call me crazy, but I don't think there is a better midsized truck on the market, at any price. Good luck and keep posting those videos, bro.

That would be a lot of miles in just a couple of years, but I bet there are some people who have done it. I've got 15K on mine now (probably about 3-4K offroad) and no problems.

So, I have about 2500 miles on the truck total right now and I’ve done the math on gallons in versus miles and it is working out to about 19 or 20 miles per gallon so far. But, as I put more miles on it I will definitely be checking it and confirming how close that is because I’ve heard a lot of folks say that they’re Mpg reflected in the truck is not accurate.

Nissan may not be class leading in all respects. But for me, Nissan seats are class leading. Overall, the 2024 Frontier does everything very well, and is a truck for those who know and appreciate real trucks. This truck can haul/tow day in and day out, without issues. On long trips, driver fatigue is far less than that from other brands. A turbo 4cyl may be good as a grocery getter, but not for daily tow/haul. The only negative for me is the lack of a brake controller: hope Nissan includes this for 2025 onwards.

I got mine in November 2022. My first Nissan Truck I got the LWB 4x4 SV. So far just added a Leer 100XR topper to camp in. The only complaint so far has to due with the cruise control. When you go up a grade on interstate it will violently shift down and kick in at 5000 rpm just to get back up to speed. I think that is excessive.

I really want a LWB but it's too poorly equipped for the price. They don't even give you LED headlights for over $40k, it's downright insulting. I heard in another owner review that there's a software update in the works to deal with the aggressive cruise control, but I can't find any info to verify that.

First year truck comment: I purchased a 2022 Ford Maverick with the Ecoboost engine. 23,000 in - so far so good. Great gas mileage, getting 28mpg city/ 30-33mpg highway. First Ford/truck purchase for me after owning Hondas for 23 years. Wish now I ordered the AWD/4K tow package because I underestimated what I would be doing with the truck and now find myself towing a converted cargo trailer for camping/boondocking at least once a month. Guess I'll wait a few more years, but the Nissan Frontier is definitely on my list for next time. Curious about the long time reliability for my Ford. Time will tell, I suppose.

I was super close to getting a Maverick but after waiting over a year I gave up and cancelled my order. Then I bought this. You probably have perfect timing because by the time you’re in the market, there will be a lot more data on the new frontiers and used options.

@@AllThingsOverlanding A lot of people ordered and then changed their minds with the Maverick because of the wait times. I gave up on the idea of the hybrid after the salesman told me I'd have "a considerably longer wait time" than if I ordered the EB. Ordered Nov. 3. 2021, and received on April 7, 2022. I know Nissan puts out GREAT trucks; it's the cars & SUVs that have questionable reputations. My daughter's friend bought a new (2018) a year or two after graduating from college, and 20K miles in, both the engine and transmission went out and not through any fault of hers.

I tend to steer away from the CVT vehicles because of those issues, but I've had a Sentra SE-R Spec V, 350z, Xterra, 2 Frontiers, and then a handfull of Infinitis as well and they've all be bullet proof so I've dodged any bullets there so far, but definitely think your assessment is accurate. @@JBLynch

@@AllThingsOverlanding MY SIL had a Nissan Sentra that he loved and was a great car until a drunk rear-ended it. He initially purchased another Sentra after his college graduation, but then traded up for a Honda Insight. Great car, but some material quality issues. They found themselves expanding the family and traded up for a Subaru Outback and also a VW Atlas. I'd bet my money on the Subaru over the Atlas, but again time will tell.

I currently own a 2015 Frontier Crew Cab (4.0 V6), with 75k. Its a great little truck, to include i have had zero problems with it, with exception of changing out my battery. The only issue I DON'T LIKE with the 2015 truck is it has absolutely NO turning ratio! Better off in the Flintstone car...next truck will be a Toyota Tundra Platinum.

Yeah, I hear that a lot. I just drive around it and it hasn't caused me any issues, but it's definitely different than a lot of other vehicles. Tundra's are sweet!

I had a 76 Dodge M880, Chevy Colorado Diesel, 98 Nissan, 99 Chev S10 - Off all the trucks the 2023 Nissan Frontier Pro4X is in a class of its own. It does not feel like of my current trucks which just sit now, the 18 Colorado Diesel, 99 Chev S10 LS. Nissan's 2023 Frontier rides too smooth - it is closer in feel to a car or SUV - the ride is soft. It is so comfortable for this old broken down paratrooper with a spinal fusion. Now don't get me wrong, I love my Colarado Z71 off road, but it rides like a truck. The S10 is small and that is nice for quick trips around town or hauling stuff that will never touch my Nissan.

I only have 2 complaints with my 2024 Pro-4x. Interior lighting just sucks something horrible. I added some white led lighting on the flooring to help with this. Also, no underhood light either. Installed a led under the hood as well. I do wish it was a couple inches higher from the manufacturer since it's technically an offroad vehicle. The standard models should be this height.

Interior lighting on most videos is pretty terrible, but you're right that it's bad in this truck. I don't think I've owned a car in the last 25 years that I didn't upgrade the interior lights with LED replacements in, :D. The underhood light would be nice but again, most vehicles don't come with that. Easy upgrade though as you mentioned! Then I'd love if Nissan would put a little more emphasis on the offroad capability of the truck instead of making it an options package with a locker basically. But, there are some easy inexpensive mods to solve that, so I've always thought, versus spending $10K more on a Tacoma with a bit more ground clearance, for about $1500 I can do a small lift and 33" tires and be pretty close for a fraction of the price.

Braking is adequate. Not a race car by any means, but feels very normal for a truck of this size. I'm coming from a lifted, Titan swapped second gen Frontier with no sway bars to this, so for a truck, it handles really well. Very little body roll. For a truck, it's super composed.

Nope, nothing yet. Everything has been good. Biggest issue is the cruise control drastically overcompensating to keep you at the target speed, but the dealers have a flash for it now that resolves the issue.

That would be sweet. I will say that they've had some issues with blown turbos and oil leaks on those 3.0 TT motors (I had a Q50 before this truck, but mine was a 3.7 for that exact reason). I love the power output but FI just seems to cause more problems and create some issues with longevity unfortunately, :(.

Thank you for the very good review. You went into great detail about everything that interests me in this truck. Unfortunately based on popularity, the Frontier's resale value goes down quickly compared to the Tacoma. So many more people are buying the Tacoma making the Frontier harder to sell and go down quickly in value. But I still like how it looks and I think it would be a very practical truck if I decide to get one.

I remember when I was looking at the Tacoma and I mentioned the Frontier to the salesperson he told me to not get the Nissan Frontier because they go down drastically in resale value right when you drive it off the lot as compared to the Tacoma!! But that is expected from a salesperson, right? lol. And I would want to get the new one I like better in spite of its resale value without even thinking about that which should be many years from now.

@@hoseman10 makes sense. It also kind of depends on your plans for the vehicle. For example, resale value means nothing if you don’t plan to sell or trade the vehicle at all or at least not for a long time. For instance, I bought my truck new with the intention of driving it for 10-12 years and basically driving it until the wheels fall off. That way I know the entire history of the vehicle and I get the longevity and reliability of a new vehicle. The frontiers are also pretty reasonably priced so you can save a few thousand dollars off the cost of a similar new Tacoma right up front, which I liked.

I hate to say it, but I've had a few Chevy's and, personally, we've had tons of big problems with them. After a few domestics, I gave Nissan a try and now I've probably had 10-15 of their cars and they've all been really great with almost exclusively just maintenance items (cats, starter, etc.).@@teabaggervance8

bought a 22 SV king cab. drove it about 10K. the worst thing is that overly heavy steering, like way way too heavy, still would have as much road feel if half the resistance were there, ridiculously heavy. Also tall and bigness of it really make seeing what right in front of you difficult.The quiet and ride remind me of a 73 Ford LTD, super smooth and quiet. Did an east to west coast trip and its the best "on the road" car I ever had

I've heard that about the steering from others. Not sure if I'm just used to Nissan trucks, but I don't really notice it. Sure, my wife's Pilot feels way lighter and "artificial" but it's not problematic to switch between the two, but again, lots of people either like or hate the steering so it's a factor for sure. Definitely agree on the hood of the truck. Big change offroading and I find myself using the front camera all the time on trails because I just can't see where the obstacles are over the hood.

The steering is trash under duress, if you are low speed or on the freeway it’s negligible, but they may as well have saved weight by taking the power steering out. Trans and power delivery are nice though, 0-40 feels awesome, under duress driving, not the vehicle for me.

The only time it’s even mildly inconvenient regarding the steering is parking at the local grocery store. But otherwise I just wanted reliability and good value for the money so it works well for what I do.

I mean, honestly, depending on your needs for offroading and whether you go "wheeling" a lot, the Frontier is still pretty trucky. I love mine and it fits my needs well, but my wife has a Pilot and a lot of folks that complain about the standard "issues" with the Frontier (short turning radius, heavy steering, truck type feeling overall, transmission downshifting too much in cruise control) would probably love the Ridgeline. Again, I couldn't get to the places I want to go in a Ridgeline (maybe?) but if you aren't going too wild, I also love Hondas and think they're great vehicles. But I do just love the Frontier too, :D.

Without lifting the Ridgeline probably correct. Unfortunately it sits almost passenger car low at 7.6" thats like a typical non off road SUV or slightly tall car. Even the Crosstrek and Forester as a for instance got 8.6" I believe..ive seen a few lifts that would accomplish what you want(maybe even more on a few builds) the AWD would get you where youre going the clearance..well pretty pathetic.. even their supposed off road model only adds A/T type tires but I dont believe and clearance. Im currently looking at the 2022 Pro4X and the Ridgeline for next vehicle. @@AllThingsOverlanding

I have a 2006 Frontier XE model 4 cylinder. I had the valve gasket changed, a/c overhauled, shocks, struts, tires, new stabilizer bar installed, and the transmission linkage fixed. It's still better than buying a new truck. The new trucks are great looking, the features and stuff, but I'm not gonna use or need those in my daily use. The price is out of control! If the electronic system goes, those trucks are dead.

Yeah, prices are definitely rising. After having a couple of other Nissans that were great, but as I started to mod them more and more, I ran into issues of cost and reliability (due to the mods, not because of anything intrinsic in the trucks), I just decided to buy a new one and keep the build more mild to get better gas mileage and some piece of mind around it's longevity and reliability since I'm the only owner. Generally speaking though, I'd recommend buying a 3-5 year old truck for most people to save a bunch of money and to still get something relatively new with lower miles.

It’s a good question. I’ve had my kids in them for 3-4 hour drives and no complaints from them. They are smaller because it’s a midsize truck but I kind of feel like people just look for things to complain about about. If you’re going to be hauling around five adults all the time and your main goal is comfort than a midsize truck probably isn’t the best option.

Toyota stopped putting a V6 in their Tacoma a couple years ago. The 4 cylinder they currently offer in the SR5 and TRD models 😮is turbo charged and still only puts out 278 hp. Honestly, I thought it felt a little under-powered, a little weak, especially for a 4WD. The Frontier PRO-4X by comparison is powered by a much improved 3.8L V6, a more powerful yet efficient design that churns out 310 hp. When you step on the gas, you can't help but feel it.

The best gas mileage I’ve gotten was before I did a tire swap and added so much weight to the rear and I drove for a few days straight out to Wyoming. I found it about 65 mph on the stock tires even with a rooftop tent and a drawer system, and afair amount of weight in the back got me about 19 to 20 miles per gallon.

I have a 2023 S 4x4 and I'm having a huge issue with the paint. There is zero protection on the rocker panels and quarter panels and I have over $4000 in rock chip damage just from going down my dirt road to my house at 15 mph. The truck has never been offroad other than this dirt road or a dirt road going to hiking trail. Nissan says its wear and tear, but I have 2 different body shops saying there is something wrong with the paint, but Nissan say tough, not our problem. The sharp edges on the front of the quarter panels are sandblasted all the way down to the bare metal and I had rust on the bottom of my driverside door on an 9 month old truck, and there are numerous cases of this on facebook, the frontier forums and on reddit and Nissan still wont do anything. This has been the first brand new vehicle I have bought since 2005 and I wont ever buy another New Nissan.

I am a Nissan Fanboy and will buy another one, just an older one. I had a hardbody that I never should have sold, 2 sentras that were indestructible, a 2000 xterra that I bought in 2011 with only 57k miles on her. Traded her in with 187k with not one major repair(Just alot of maintenance) for the Frontier. I would love a second gen xterra and would buy the right one in a heart beat. If Nissan built a new one on the current frontier platform but fixed the lack of protection issues, it would be a 4runner chaser for sure. But we can all dream right? I haven't had that happen to me. The backup sensors are pretty sensitive. I camp a lot so even if it's a blade of grass or a small bush, it freaks out and I have to hit the "P" button to disable it, haha.

Has anyone else noticed that if the truck is even slightly cold when you start driving it will have an unusual power loss that suddenly corrects itself without you changing the position of the pedal? I think there is something wrong with mine but it's all in the ecu. I'm talking very light throttle people, not abusing it when it's cold. I've driven a lot of vehicles and I know what feels normal with a cold motor and this is absolutely not normal. I also hate this transmission (probably programming) but it is very easy to confuse it and it slips the converter way too much. What's the point of having power if it can't even get to the wheels. Gear changes are pathetically slow and of course it shifts into way too high of a gear when driving around town. Also let's not forget that when manually shifting the gear changes are even worse and sometimes the truck won't even allow you to shift manually! Sorry but this is my first new vehicle and I was expecting something a lot better put together. I've had beaters my whole life and most were better to drive than this thing.

We really liked the shifting of the transmission we did not feel as though it was searching for gears it was actually very smooth. But we also drove a 2023 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab we are Toyota lovers and have been for years but this Tacoma transmission was terrible it was constantly looking for gears, the seats were uncomfortable the steering wheel was to low for me and i could not raise the steering wheel anymore the Frontier has a better tilt on the steering wheel,and the seats were way more comfortable in the Frontier, the passengers seat is not adjustable on the Tacoma and it felt like i was sitting on the floor but the Frontier naturally sits higher and is just more comfortable. More horse power in the Frontier than the Tacoma and you can tell. We are really leaning towards the 2024 Frontier King Cab SV because we don't need the extra room on the double cab. I like the frontier for its simplicity and comfort and the smoothness of the transmission. How quiet the cabin is while driving. The Tacoma had much more road noise. Things i don't like about it The backup camera is of lousy quality compared to the Tacoma and steering is really tight.

I have this exact issue. 2023 pro4x, 330 miles on it now. It's about 30 to 50 degrees out here right now and in the mornings it gets no power at all. Let of accelerator and give it some back and forth and still nothing, then all of a sudden it "snaps" back into normal operation which is still a mess finding the right gear to be in. I love this truck but whatever technology they have in the transmission to find the proper gear is screwed up. I'm taking it to the dealership to get the throttle position sensors changed, trans fluid changed, and see if they still need to put in a transmission update from a year or to ago that were on other frontiers. Maybe those are a good place to start let me know if you find a fix I will update when I get it back from service

So, I've had mine through the Wyoming BDR, Wisconsin trails, Michigan trails, deep snow and more and to me (I've had a 2008 Frontier and 2005 Xterra also) it's basically the same. It does really well offroad. There have been times when the traction control gets too aggressive and has stopped progress in snow, for example, but I just switch it off in those occasions and it does great. Just depends on whether you want wheel spin or not, :D. Overall though, it does great.

If you don't care about some of the new tech stuff and upgraded design, then you can probably find a 21 for signficantly cheaper. If it's close though, the upgrades in the new truck are worth it in my opinion. Good luck!

do the nissans still use those cheap plastics that fade, and metal parts that rust and break in less than 10 years? speaking from experience, two xterras. two major repairs that left me stranded in the first xterra, and had to replace the drive shaft in the second, both with less than 90000.

I mean, I haven't had any issues. I've had an 05 Xterra that I drive until 150K miles and it had 0 issues aside from just wearable parts that needed replaced or upgraded. I have an 08 Frontier with 218K miles that still runs fine. Then this truck is brand new, so time will tell. I will say they finally did a good job of updating the interior (and exterior) of the truck after 15ish years.

Fletch, have you ever used a lift or leveling kit on any of your trucks? I like the new Frontier, but I think the pro-4x could be 1.5 - 2 inches higher. I've been comparing it with other newer mid-size trucks and I've noticed that many brands come lifted right from the factory. I think it would support a more aggressive posture. Thanks.

Totally agree with you. I actually put a 2ish" lift on the truck shortly after I bought it (All Dogs Offroad RC Killa kit). It definitely helps it look more aggressive and it also helped me fit new 33" Kenda Klever RT tires which I just got installed yesterday, :D. 35’s are pretty tough to fit on these trucks. If you did a Titan swap (basically swap in full size Titan suspension components) then you might be able to fit 35’s with some cutting. 33’s seem to be the best upgrade for them and that’s what I’m going to do on mine.

@@Jerlemi2 It’s really close. If you really want to avoid rubbing don’t add any wheel spacers. You may also have to remove your mud flaps. I have 1” wheel spacers and had to remove mudflaps, cut the bottom few inches off of my fender liners, and cut a small amount of metal to fit them.

I haven't yet with only 16K miles on it, but I need to do some research on exactly what kind of maintenance I should be doing due to the direct injection. I was planning to follow the users manual and just stick to that.

i know there are no AC vents and frontier doesn’t offer ventilated seats YET, hopefully for 2025. how is it driving in the summer heat? and rear window is automatic right?

It's not bad at all. I drove it through WY in July and it was HOT when we weren't at elevation. The AC does great, so I didn't have any problems even without ventilated seats. Honestly, I've only ever had ventilated seats on an Infiniti I had before and they were nice, but I don't know that I'd pay a ton extra for them on the truck. For the rear window, I'm not in the truck right now but I believe only the driver's side front window is automatic and there rest are manual (powered, but no auto up or down function). No issues on mine. Obviously, if something like that happened, you'd be covered under warranty I'm sure, but I haven't heard of that or had any issues myself.

Well I’ve hauls 6 goats to fair. Multiple hay loads usually around 40 bales. An old ford tractor and my side by side ride fine behind it. Of the mid size trucks the height would be the easiest for pulling elk out of the woods

I bought a brand new tacoma (2019) at the time. I traded in a 2001 tacoma for it. The 2019 taco was the worst vehicle I’ve ever owned. I had problem with it from the very beginning. Crappy gearing, piss poor mpg, retarded transmission, pathetic throttle response, etc… Driving it on the highway was embarrassing. It would only get into overdrive if I was going downhill or had the wind at my back. Not to mention I went through 3 fuel pumps before i got to 10k miles. Traded it in for a 23 pro4x and couldn’t be happier. No issues so far and I’m 5k miles in. I’ll never buy another tacoma again.

Yeah, I would. I’m not sure of the exact weight but I towed a pretty large metal car trailer with a Subaru legacy on it and it did fine. Toe mode made a big difference too and it handled it great.

I doubt it I waited to see.. Toyotas issue is the 4cyl turbo that gets no better MPG than the Nissan and the fact for the same equipment on the Pro4X youre essentially paying 7-9K more for the same thing. and im sure a lot have seen the recent video of the brand new Tacoma breaking down and we all know the Chevy/GMC current issue(stop sale on them for engaging E brake randomly while driving) . Out of the mid size for me its Pro4X or Ridgeline and then it depends on what you need and do with it.@@J.W.W.

It was really difficult for me to choose between a newer Chevy Colorado Z71 and one of these brand new Frontiers. I ended up getting neither and instead came across a lightly used 2021 Colorado Z71 that I had to have the minute I saw it. I still want one of these Frontiers though. I've always loved the previous gen Frontiers and I personally believe that Frontiers are a MUCH GREATER value compared to the Toyota Tacoma. I'm not claiming they are better or that Tacomas are bad. I just think Tacomas are some of the most overvalued vehicles on the road today. The price just does not make sense. Toyota has a great reputation that they built and deserve to have but that doesn't mean that paying 10-15k more makes sense because it doesn't. These Frontiers are arguably just as reliable vehicles as Nissan takes a page from Toyota's playbook with how they design and engineer their vehicles (hint: use older tech or tech that has had a lot of trial and error/R&D and stick with it for as long as you can before introducing new technology because your stuff will not only be more reliable but there will be a plethora of replacement parts at a reasonable price if you stick with tried and tested tech). Toyota IS the most reliable brand of motor vehicle, no doubt, but they AREN'T leaps and bounds beyond the competition like they may have been 20-30 years ago. The price of a Tacoma is not justified by their reliability and so I will not buy one.

Totally agree with you on the Tacomas VS Frontiers. They're great trucks but all vehicles have their issues and problems, so I couldn't see paying thousands more for a Toyota than a Nissan. I know quite a few people with the Colorados and they're awesome trucks! I just have a long personal history with domestic cars and having tons of big problems with them, which turned me off, so I'm just done with them. But, that's my bias, :D. Lots of people enjoying them without the head trash, haha.
