When a massive spider kept hanging around my backpack during an exploration trip, I decided it was a perfect opportunity to use one as bait and compare it with some new spider lures I had just acquired. The results of spider lure vs. real spider challenge were better than I expected!
Keep trying new things and leveling up in real life!

Because it it a lure made to be thrown on top of moss and debris , just like the frog lures. The hooks curve up and slightly covered, usually they don’t snag to easily unless you set the hook or reel to fast.

Ace, I’m guessing fish were only eating the black widow because the bright colors on the first spider scared them away. Usually when something is bright colored like that it’s poisonous, but there’s no guarantee fish know that 😂

Was out fishing with my son (7) today and he was catching more than me (as per usual haha). He says man dad I'm getting pretty good almost better than you. I in turn said well who do you think taught you how to fish bud?, I taught you everthing you know. The spider croaked because it basically boiled to death. Bugs of any kind die very quickly when enclosed in anything without enough airflow as well as anything in direct sunlight. And they all tend to go through a short sudden burst of extreme activity/energy (likely adrenaline in a panic state) just before they die. I've been the unintended purveyor of such enough times to have had my suspicions proven correct.

So I have a quick question but I mean that video is really cool I like those lures and the real spider worked great but after the bluegill ate the spider would you be afraid to eat the bluegill because of maybe if that spider's venom got into the bluegill somehow? I was just wondering about that would that affect the bluegill would you ingest venom or poison from the spider?
