Can completely relate to @4:00 convo...pre-hijab white woman 1st place in an international competition - next year post-hijab white woman not even ranked top 10 in the same competition. I knew my scarf had a LOT to do with it & that was really disappointing.
I am not yet a hijabi but I feel like it could define you in a way...like that you want modesty or that you want to obey Allah swt. Possibly that you are trying to be the better version of yourself, or that YOU ARE BRAVE.
I am also a revert and I wear a headscarf. For me modesty is the most important reason. I am trying to find arguments in quran or hadith to suggest that hijabi women are supposed to visibly "represent"' islam (to non muslims). I am aware that we represent our religion, but why should it be different than any other muslim person? I struggle with this idea of representing my religion...some non muslims argue it is like beeing missionary (purposefully doing dawa, like Jehovas Whitnesses on the streets), and I try to steer away from suggesting this. This is why in many parts of Europe, women cannot be teachers or lawyers or state representatives because they will always "represent" islam first. This is why I always argue that hijab is my modesty, my comfort zone and it has to represent me first and foremost. It is not like wearing a cross or the star of David, it is not a symbol. I don't want it to be a symbol, I want it to be a piece of clothing that covers a part of my body, nothing more.
Guys, I need some help I am planning to start wearing hijab and my mom is kind of supportive on this but I am afraid of returning to school as a hijabi and being judged. I have loved hijabs from so little and the women wearing them always seem so pure inside and out and this is something that truly speaks to me. So please if I can get a word of advice it would be very helpful thanks🧕
Hey Charisma! I just wanted to tell you that I am a Hijabi and I go to school and I was scared of being judged by others but trust me the feeling you get when you get when you do something for the sake of Allah SWT, to please him, it is something else and it makes you forget what other people will think about you. Also if you make your intention pure and you wear it only to please Him then indeed He will tell the Angels to love you and put love in the hearts of who you interact with. SubhanAllah!Truly Islam is beautiful. There are always good and bad people but the more hardship you go through the closer you will be with Allah Swt and Verily with hardship comes ease. May Allah help you and Bless you with the best.Ameen.xxx.
Well I already started since january😅😅 Yh it has been a good start so far and I really love wearing it, it makes me feel so beautiful and i honestly couldnt have asked for it any other way I'm in 9th grade lol thanks for the support oh and I need to update that name it's actually charisma chichester Lol
Charisma Chichester I am glad you got a smooth start, don’t give up no matter what! It’s good that you started it in 9th grade, it’s easier when you just jump in early. I want to start wearing it upcoming August-September. I will be starting college and I want a fresh start.
Well good luck! You got this! Dont let anyone ever try to discourage you because just keep in mind that you are doing this for yourself and noone else. Also remember that you dont need validation from anyone because god is on your side. I should take my own advice too lol😅🤣 all the best!
Assalam aleikum Melanie. I likes your videos. You make lovely video about different tips of scarf materials. I want to ask you can you make video about different tips of scarf pins, clips and brooch. Will be very helpful for new muslim and for yeangers which just starting to learning scarf/ hijab.
I'm a revert of 14 yrs I started wearing a week after converting I was in tears one day and decided I couldn't be Muslim if I didn't wear it so I started but for 14 yrs I have struggled to wear it there are days I can spend hour upon hours all day to put it on I can never get it to frame my face there are days I don't even get out of house because I can't put it on more now than I did yrs ago I feel like taking it off I feel I look better without it but then I look at the consequences first I'd lose Allah then my husband would leave I'd rather stay home and never leave home than loose all that
Your husband wouldn't leave you for taking of your Hijab even if he would. Don't think about it this way you have to do it for the sake of Allah alone. Do wear your Hijab to please ALLAH (S.W.A) and inshallah you will find it easy. May Allah make it easy for you sister.
Just remember that there are always hard times it is important to stay strong and remember that hijab is now a part of u and u cant let anything or anyone take that away from you 🧕
