How are the youth of today a light in the world? How do we bring heaven to Earth?
In today’s episode of Real Talk, Scott and Ganel-Lyn support and praise our youth and urge us to do the same. They also discuss Church membership councils and how they’ve recently been updated. Lastly, they talk about the power we receive by going to the temple, and how this power can bring heaven to Earth.
Invitation: Find some youth and describe to them the light you see in them--celebrate the youth around you.

I like when you squeeze in time to testify of stewardship as well! A few months ago, I had been praying for strength and comfort to overcome my depression. I then switched my prayers to pleading to simply not feel this way anymore. A few days later I watched one of the real talk videos where ganel-lyn explained stewardship vs. ownership and seeing all that we have, mental illnesses included like scott bore testimony of, as something to care for and not control. That was an answer to my prayers, and I'm so grateful, so thank you

I just love you guys. I love that you said we don't have the corner market on light! So so true and I've been saying this so much. There are so many people with light and love. I just love the light. And it is so easy to have the light dimmed in these trying times. (It's very very trying time up here in canada) YAS, it's easy to feel like the light is dimmed with personal trials. Share the light that you have, and identify others light. ❤

Thank you, you helped me see more clearly what my stewardship can be and how much our youth contribute to the world. I have to change my view of them a lot, so thank you. Love that you won’t make this a conversation to have a political argument over the earth and our stewardship. For me that should be a no brained as a church member. This would have been a great opportunity to bring in our mother in heaven as well. I can’t help but think that the term ‘mother earth’ from ‘the world’ is a part of the truth. The creation of Our earth is where my truer understanding of her stems from.

I've got a bugbear with regard to the church and environment...... So many manuals are printed and there isn't the need anymore, it's all mostly online. My ward has 3 boxes full of CFM manuals just sitting there. What you do with them? The church doesn't recycle. A past bishop threw manuals upon manuals in a skip to go to the landfill. 😔

It's hard to expect marginalized teens and young people to be sitting in places and be instructed when they have been told by an Apostle of the Lord that they don't belong and that they are a threat to the church and members need to defend against them.

When we talk about Earth and her creatures please don’t forget the animals we call livestock and seafood. We’re mindlessly contributing to the misery and deaths of trillions of land and sea animals every year by consuming them and farming them without even thinking about the process. Hawksbill turtles and so many other by-catch animals die in fishing nets all over the world. As stewards of the earth we need to consume responsibly and follow the Word of Wisdom more carefully.
