How awesome! Happy children, bystanders waving.. loved the people down by the river in that big brown house, waving with big yellow hands.. What great memories the lil ones will carry with them. So fun!
How nostalgic. Thomas the tank engine was one if the most favorit of my little brother, when he was a kid. Here in Germany it is called "Thomas, die kleine Lokomotive"
We're Americans but grew up learning German (it's a long story) and we have a VHS of episodes from the show in German. We also have a DVD copy of the feature film Thomas Die Fantastishe Lokomotive.
My son Harold loved Thomas the Tank Engine growing up. The best source for the toys was a Hello Kitty store on the mall. Yes, he owned a Harold the Helicopter. But it is a fun train. I take it from the helper engine in the back, Thomas isn't doing much of the real work pulling the train.
I MUST SAY JAPAN REALLY HAVE THAT ABILITY TO MAKE OUR CHILDHOOD SPECIAL AND MEMORABLE LIKE SHINCHAN I CAN'T FORGET I'M MARRIED BUT STILL I CAN'T STOP WATCHING SHINCHAN, DORAMON, KITRETSU,NINJA HATTORI
Wow When I was 5 or 6 this show ran on pogo I loved watching this show and thought how they were communicating to each other now,I am 22+ still inbounded on this show on youtube
Man I loved Thomas the Tank Engine when I was a kid. I had all of his books. Haven't ridden a steam train since I was a teenager in high school. Thanks for the memory :)
This is not creepy at all. This is Japan repurposing all of those old local train lines that maybe would've died after the Shinkansen came to town into a fantastic little tourist spot for both adults and kids. I think it's wonderful.
This is great .. When we were little at Christmas we used to go to Edaville Railroad in Massachusetts and ride steam engine at night thru country woods lit up with hidden lights.
Very interesting video. My children loved the entire Thomas the train collection when they were young. Thanks for another great video, looking forward to the next one.
Im not sure if you know or not, but Thomas the Tank Engine the series has a legendary narrator Ringo Starr who was one of the Fab 4 (The Beatles) how rock n roll is that!!
I was very lucky I lived a few years in Shizuoka Pref. The Oigawa area and it's heritage railway are defintely amongst my favourite places in Japan. Visited again when back in September 2019 for the Rugby World Cup and stayed at a nice little Ryokan across the road from Senzu Station. Oh, and it just happened to be a Thomas weekend too! Thomas and all his friends were at the station.
@@yasukiwi Yeah I did too stay at one of the onsens there and did some hiking around the Yume no Tsuribashi bridge area and also train sight seeing. Also had the best daifuku mochi ever in Japan. The tuna dishes at the fish market was the best I ever had in Japan. I could go on and on…
Fun fact about Thomas, it also details the change in industry in the UK and what happened to similar areas, typically becoming unused or turned into a museum.
I remember watching this show as a child I was actually waiting on diesel to come rolling up I’ve always love trains and it’s really cool see my childhood come to life😊❤
From the train windows We can watch green fields. From 3:53 From 5:31 Most beautiful green fields are treee of green tea cultivation area in Shizuoka prefecture.
Canada - definitely in Canada - this Auntie of ten nieces and nephews knows all about Thomas - if we had trains like this - we would have been regular riders - thnx for another wonderful adventure 🚂🚂🚂
@@elizabethcoen Yes. I had a copy of the book with an illustration of Blaine looking like a devilish version of Thomas. Not sure if King mentioned it explicitly in the book but probably yes.
Well this was certainly an intresting experience I'm curious did any of the kids parents find you where riding Thomas with most of the passengers being kids? I'd honestly would like try it for once for myself though feel nervous that many will judge me for being to old for Thomas!
I didnt knew Thomas and his friends were so popular,my dream is to ride in Japan such a one! Since going to Japan is easier than go to UK for EU citizens.
