join the two part live lesson at muraljoe.com/members Joe puts us halfway underwater to swim with the sharks and octopus as we peer up at beautiful clouds and a mysterious red balloon.
Thanks for this painting Joe! It was inspiring to see a different perspective with colours and strokes! Nothing seems to phase you out! Are you a self thaught artist?
Love your teaching technique! Your paintings are awsome. Lots of artists I have watched undercoat the painting before they start blocking, but you just start painting on the gesso. Which method do you prefer. Or use most often.
So so inspiring...although i have a sewing project on the go...watching you makes me feel like trying your underwater scene and putting away the sewing...hahaha.
I’m not sure when you added this tutorial. But I was wondering if you find the titanium white paint “grays out” as it dries? Could I stop that “graying” by using more paint/thicker paint?
Hello Ben & this episode w/Brian. Are you still working with Joe? (Feb.17 2024) water is not my favorite. Lol you tube timing is all our family has time to view. Though we will make time to watch a longer video.
How many underwater-aboverwater paintings are there in the world? Suspect this is one of a very few, and one of one to incorporate a red balloon. I feel safe in saying "unique". Chapeau that man Joe. Not forgetting the crew.
thinking about a membership but would like to know what kind of paint does Joe paint with, I'v never seen someone paint from a can. Is this interior house paint of some kind?
Hi Joe, I would like to buy your tutorial on painting the Autumn Rocky Cliff if you have all of it in real time. I can't stand to watch the speeded up version. Please let me know by email if you have it. Thanks Bonnie
Joe: If you only pay attention to one thing I ever said... Trust me when I tell you this _work-transforming_ discovery I made about primary colors- Brian: CaN you pAinT a bAlLoOn!
HAH, after I watched this real time with you, I was watching another artist, and someone in the chat mentioned that the Netflix movie: My Octopus teacher has great visuals, so I decided to watch it. A shark came and bit off one of the octopus's legs......good news, it grew back :)
I love octopuses, they are so fascinating! I also watched that Netflix movie. Here is another great RU-vid video on the insane biology of the octopus (remember the discussion about brains in the legs): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mFP_AjJeP-M.html
... ha ha... "make you lazy people feel better"!! 😅😁 Ah... I pray for you Mural Joe... that God will heal your "shakiness"... maybe there's a vitamin supplement you can take? 🤔 ... cause you are gifted with such a GREAT talent!! Hey Joe... when was your last vacation? Maybe you need a short break from it all right now!?! 🤔😁
Very familiar with those cheap canvases...spray the backs with warm water mister bottle. ....it will tighten the canvas .. These canvases are really terrible quality...only good for practice purposes...
Would have liked to see you painting the actual water...foreground to achieve the shapes...movement and such rather than all the elements such as ballon and such added...took away from what could of been an interesting and perhaps a learning experience to actually paint water as such... Also...never use black nor white in the underpainting of water... Again...study the masters of ocean painting...E. John Robinson for one he studied the ocean and painted for 40 yrs...
Love all your paintings. The sound effects don’t match your paintings! My opinion only. I’ve noticed a few men painters do the video sound effects also.
17:24 omg!! I WAS listening to your story with the red ...blue green transition colors...your explaining and then interrupted!!! Why. . This is too much....your talking about an interesting subject and or a method ...Technique and always interrupted by the live streamers comments ... When a painter is at the easel giving a tutorial....the viewers want to listen....and focus...understand what your talking about...doing... Not have these continuous interruptions all the time, especially when your talking on topic and get interrupted as here and don't finish your story.... The comments can wait....when you feel you have said what you needed to say ...then ask for comments...stop at some point and continue with tutorial If you have the need for live streams...they're just annoying and very chaotic....frustrating to the viewers especially when you get cut off and or taken off topic your talking about and never finished the story....JOOOOOOWWWW
