I ended up getting one of these because I was so impressed by the demos on RU-vid. it is really great! Yes it is pricey. But to have a tube eq or compressor is way more money. Now you can get a real tube sound with this added on any eq or compressor plugin-It’s worth its weight in gold!
appreciate your opinion on this device and agree on your suggestions of making it more affordable too a wider home studio audience , great job keep up the good work
Thanks for hinting the firmware update about auto gain compensation! I got this new from reverb from official retailer for 700€. I use it on my master bus one pair of tubes for low end and the second pair for top end saturation and it just opens the mix like plugins can't at the moment... So for me it's perfect addition to SSL UC1 / Softube Console1 to get that kinda analog summing sound and both low end warmth and top end crispness which helps to transform digital mixes a lot faster and more effortlessly... Thanks for the video!
I bought the freqtube because it was the least expensive software controllable hardware saturator that I knew about. Other than the freqtube, I am totally in the box. I wouldn't have bought it if I had to patch it through my audio interface because I don't have available inputs. That's worth a few more bucks for me. $1000 is pricey but I see hardware controller at the $799 range and no sound goes through the unit itself. You are totally right in saying that it just depends on the buyer and their particular situation whether this is too much. I bought this with the intention that this was going to be the only outboard gear I was going to own.
you're right the only reason why I haven't purchased this is because of the price. I love the concept but I can find 10 better ways to improve my studio for $900/$1000 dollars
