Great video! In Resolve, you can create a new timeline and put *just* the 60 fps footage and set the timeline to 4k 60p. Then it will playback the full 60

I keep looking at M3 chipped macs, then when I add extra ram and at least 1TB of SSD, and I just can't justify them. Great battery life, great power on battery and great efficiency, but FFS, the extra ram and SSD just kill me. I edit with DaVinci resolve on a windows laptop on an external drive, but as soon as I can afford it, I'm replacing the internal 512fb with a 4tb SSD. DaVinci resolve support says one of its biggest support issues is related to people editing from an external drive. I don't think I'll ever have enough free cash to afford a MacBook Pro M3 with a decent amount of RAM and SSD.

I use both Mac and Windows and Linux but mostly Mac, about 15% Windows and probably less than 5% Linux - my first career was in music production hence the love affair with Mac but I also love PCs and do custom loop builds

"I fixed the thermal issues." Don't listen to people like him. Just let the damn thing throttle like it was designed to do. If it's a heavy workload, you are not losing a significant amount of performance - just a few seconds. But.. you are completely voiding your warranty and if your MacBook Air dies on you, then it was your fault. Apple doesn't owe you a thing, and I have no sympathy for you either. You are not a computer engineer.
