Had mine for over two years and very happy with Ricmotech and their customer service. Never had an issue with the controller. If blinks don't match, it's human error and need to reset from scratch to resync. There are 3 different maps for throttle and brakes, which is another plus when combined with the custom profile (i.e. for iracing). I do agree on the lack of a proper sized and shaped heels rest, but other than that they are rock solid and miles away from the simple load cells I owned.
@tlambie
@tlambie 3 года назад
I agree, they are great pedals. Had mine for more than a year and have not had the problems Barry is having with the controller. I would send it back or, at least check with support. And yes they are too tall to use without an additional heel rest.

Awesome review. To be honest, I was torn between these and the HPP JBVs, but having watched this review, I have no regrets going with the HPPs. "Better" (subjective, but the tactility is much greater) clutch, fewer maintenance concerns because they're closed-loop, and a software solution fit for 2020. I feel it's hard to recommend this set over the HPPs or HE Ultimates unless open-loop hydraulics turn you on.

Hi Barry thank you again for that great review of these pedals I have been waiting and hoping for a long time that you would review them so I was really happy when I got the good news that you wrote in a comment that you where already testing them and really close to finish the video of it, there is only one thing I would have liked in you video and feel I was missing alot and that was if you could have showed us what hall effect sensor they use and how they have put it together in the 3d printed L shape house I would really like to know if they have made that stable enough and see if they have used highend quality components, the rason I ask is because I'm pretty close in buying them but I live in Denmark so they cost alot more here because of Customs and VAT

I have the HPP JVBs and they work well, but had issues with calibration, i purchased a Rexing wheel and Ricmotech GTPro3 Xtreme Pedal set from Jose at Ricmotech . Jose walked me threw the setup for the wheel and pedals through remote on my computer and did not rush me to get finished, when i was happy we finished the chat. the pedals felt like my Porsche pedals in my Race car and looked like them also, finite adjustments were able due to their new software, had a problem with the break pedal and Jose had me try a few things then i sent them in to fix them got them back and 10 min. in the noise came back, i called Jose and sent a video of it doing it again ,he spoke to the owner and he old they would send me a new seton pedals and to send mine back to them. Now that's customer service and standing by one's product ,i just ordered a simucube base from them they have my business for life ,Jose was such a big help in all ways great place great people and my lap times at LRP increased 1/2 second with these pedals .

@@brunch1691980 It's some fans that are programmed to blow air when he's going fast I'm pretty sure, and simulate the air in general. It comes out of those black tubes on his rig, supposed to be like those tubes in GT cars that I guess do the same thing. I could be totally wrong, maybe it's just normal fans but I'm sure I've heard of the sim fans before. edit: I was close, it's called Power Wind by Sim Racing Studio, Barry has a video on it from 2018. You sir are always on point. I've always wondered if I change the length of the brake line, make it longer and not braided. Maybe it will introduce that real car brake feeling. What do you think Barry?
@sethfrancissimracing7558
@sethfrancissimracing7558 3 года назад
I always thought about the same thing and I would imagine it would to an extent but not entirely. When you put all steel and braided lines in a real car the pedal becomes harder but not completely hard if there is still a brake booster effecting the way the brake feels, without a brake booster the brakes are almost rock hard. If you notice it is much harder to press the brake in your car without the engine running, then with the engine running the brake becomes much easier and more sponge-like. I think using a long section of rubber brake line would give more of a real road car feeling though.

Serious question, are we at the point where the sim gear is so good, in fact, too good for the software these games put out... I mean I can barely get FFB dialed in to feel realistic as well as under braking. I am still fairly new to sim racing but in all seriousness, it seems it would take something like Rfactor Pro to really utilize pedals like this. Thoughts?

Pretty late on this, but I've had mine for about a year and a half and have NEVER had that box be inconsistent like you're seeing. Have you ever tested a hydraulic system that uses a brake caliper and a disc/rotor? Have seen pictures of a few pro sim rigs that had such a setup. The disc and caliper would just be static mounted but it would grab the disc with the brake pads in the caliper, Im guessing to simulate the correct pedal travel? Curious if it gets closer to the feel of a real car.

@@Nikos4Life I just got mine a couple weeks ago. Took 4 months. Been very unsatisfied so far. My set look used or possibly refurbished. Really scratched and scuffed up looking. HPP had to send me a new base frame for the brake cause mine wasn’t made correctly. The threads for the standoffs inside the electronics box stick out through the bottom. Making it so the pedal doesn’t sit flat when mounting it. They also look like they were mounted to something previously as the blue anodizing has these round impressions around all the side mounting holes. (So does the throttle) The clutch doesn’t have that though. So in the first week I had to partially disassemble the brake pedal and transfer everything over to a new blue anodized frame. The new frame was made correctly and the threads on those standoffs don’t stick out the bottom when tightened down properly. The new frame also doesn’t have those round impressions around the side mount holes. They had to send me a new heal plate as the original one they sent me seriously looked like raw material. It wasn’t shiny, it looked unfinished. Scratched and scared up. It looked like a piece of stainless product before you peal the plastic protective covering off. Very dull with zero shine. The HPP logo looked like crap too. It looks like the engraver screwed up the two Ps leaving it with sharp burs. It’s insane to think that something in it’s condition could be paired with a set of high end pedals that prides itself on being shiny and beautiful as well as cost $110. The new one looks much better. Not perfect but acceptable. I’m still going back and forth with HPP regarding the brake pedal face. When screwed down tight the pedal face doesn’t sit flat on the pedal arm. It’s at an angle. They sent me another one and it does the same. However the clutch and throttle pedal faces sit flat on the brake pedal arm. It’s been a headache and totally not worth it. The pedals do feel fantastic but I’m sure a lot of high end pedals at this price point do. Plus the 4 month wait for all this? Hell no.

I have real gear pedals but mine are the inverted Wilwood setup. The rubber bumpers are trash. You need the urethane ones to get the best feel for the brake on my setup and it is as close to real as anything you can get for sim racing. Most racecars have manual brakes that are not power assisted so if you're comparing these pedals to a new Mustang or Camaro then they won't feel anything like a street car.

How can this review be trusted? Slow blinking green from the controller means that the software has been set up out of its range. The user manual clearly explains that a fast blinking red is the result of a proper reading, which is easily done by following a 3 step input process for each pedal. Wondering what the owner of the pedal set thinks after lending it for such a bad vibe in return.

Where are the sim games that are up to par with gear in this price range? Even top-end sim games like iRacing are no worth to get that stuff for. Developers need to get their shit together, physics, sound, graphics, immersion everything is lagging behind, this is not what I imagined sims would be like in 2020. Basically EVERY game is a bug fest because of rushing. It is possible to make WAY better sim games, but the market and console kiddies fuck things up.
