Here we test the REALISTIC 0-60 MPH time for this 2018 Ford Mustang 5.0. This 5.0 has a 10 speed automatic and is bone stock. What other cars would you like to see tested? Comment below!
I've done 5.0-5.1 0-60 in my bone stock '16 GT 6-speed with my 300-lb ass driving and my equally chunky brother riding shotgun. If I left him on the sidewalk and didn't go to Arby's for a month, I could improve on that. But really.... if a Professional driver with Performance Pack can do 4.6 on a closed track, and my amateur butt with 3.31's can do 5.0 on the street, I'm perfectly happy with my results. I just enjoy the car, I'm not out to impress anybody or break records.
Exactly my point is the same I just got a 50th GT anniversary premium package and I feel like it's a bit slower than the other ones , I may just be Nick picking at it but I'm not trying to break records or impress anybody either I just Cruise the car enjoy its Aesthetics and mean rumbling growl ,enough said.
Yep in the real world, it's a whole different situation and very seldomly get the factory stated times from any of the automaker's. I own a 2010 Challenger SRT8 with the 6.1 and was getting 4.9 when it was stock, but now runs low 4s with basic bolt ons & drag radials. Went from 20s to 17s wrapped in Mickey T 305 SS and shaved off 68lbs total weight, so that helped a lot to. Not too bad for a 4k+ behemoth that she is and speaks volumes for the gen3 hemis. Haven't had it on a dyno yet because I'm getting ready to do a cam soon and wanted to wait until then, but is probably making close to 460 at the crank by now and can't wait to get it done. Should be able to run 4.0 all day long or possibly sub and has been a really enjoyable car to build
I timed a 2019 GT 500 convertible 10 speed ,6 times via GPS and best was 4.71s , second best was 4.87s , top down all runs , I think if I had more time with that car I could have got it better I just held brake a bit then floored it, no launch control . Love those gen 3 coyotes !
2020 GT Perf Pack 1, new MPS4S tires. Stock. I get 5 secs on sport+. Launching from 1500 revs, I get 4.9 secs. On Track (traction off and etc as everyone suggests here) tires just spin all around and it's much worse than 5 secs. So unless you have a prepped surface, you won't go any better than 5 secs. BTW, your bro should've closed the windows as well! :D
Fastest for my 2017 is 5.1 0-60. It’s supposed to be at 4.6 apparently. I find myself spinning out a lot before launch. Any tips on reducing it? I have an automatic
The times quoted on manufacturer sites is best conditions, with prepped surface, rollout, auto trans and magna ride. Real world with auto is like 4.5-4.7 and manual depends on driver, but I've seen 4.8 stock. One thing these cars are notorious for is wheel hop, which reduces traction on launch. I installed a cradle lockout bushing kit which helped tremendously. Hope this helps.
I was able to do it in 4.9 with a full tank , 100 lbs of tools in the trunk and the temperature was 37° f . It wasn't in sport mode and I left off the brake around 2 k . It slightly spun the tires . It's a ten spd . Pp1
@@nellcat3530 It all depends on one thing. Traction. Getting a Mustang to hook stock is hard enough. Throw a supercharger on it and it's gonna be a pain. 3.5 should be doable
I never believed Ford when they said that a Mustang GT in stock form can do 0-60 in under four seconds. They also said the older GT500 could do 200 MPH haha.
Also by the way, you probably got 5s due to traction control being enabled. At that point it’s only putting down around 300 of its 460 capable hp in first gear. That’s the disadvantage of RWD sadly. Nice vid
Tbh the mustang is more of a 60-130 car, due to the fact it is unable to put down power efficiently from a dig. That’s why a mustang owner will never race you from a dig lol I’m not a big fan of the 10 speed as much as the 6 manual because it just doesn’t have the torque a conventional manual or dual clutch has, and that’s because of how short the gearing is, and to make it worse, 6th-7th gear is a HUGE drop in RPM. Car basically gives up at 140mph while others in its RPM range are able to keep pulling. It’s not bad, but it could be better. Lucky you didn’t get pulled over lol cops hate mustangs
@@moonrunnerlife1640 dude you have an RS3? Hell yeah! I love 5 cylinders, my passat has the NA version of the 07K in it. Reply to me with your IG and I’ll shoot you a follow!
@@noblevengeance312 I owned a 2003 passat B5 right before the RS3. Was getting ready to throw big turbo and injectors on it before I wrecked. I don't have IG but I have a short clip of the car on my channel.
You are launching from idle, rather than build up revs to around 2.5k then letting her go. No official 0-60 times include a passenger! My 2.3T Mustang (stock/auto, 2017) hits 5.5 seconds...so you can certainly improve on your times here.
Turn your traction control off. I have a 2018 V6 Camaro that runs 5 flats literally always, and my scatpack was running barely faster than that until I started turning my traction control off.
Weird how I tested my 2016 GT today and got 5 second flat too.I’d expect 2018 mode to be a bit faster Maybe they test the cars on with slicks and a prepped surface 🤷🏻♂️
@@TwoWheelTurban I tested my 2016 gt again, got 4.8 by having traction control off. Launched using track mode too. I didn’t rev up my rpms or anything🤔maybe I can get it to launch 4.6 as advertised if I do. Have you improved your launch on your gt?
5 isnt bad, but Mustangs are like Glocks or computers when it comes to customizing. A few thousand dropped on performance parts and good tires, youll have a sub 4 second mustang.
I had a benz coupe that was a turbo’d 4 cyclinder. And my best 0-60 stock was 6.0 seconds. Mustangs suck clearly. How does a 4 banger perform better than a v8 😂
Or he left the traction control on and didn't get the 301A package that has Drag Mode. The fastest straight line 2018 and up Mustang GTs are the base model cars with A10 and 301A with drag mode. The Performance pack cars are heavier.
@@Dude-tb8ry When I buy one I'd get the base 301A and 10-Speed because I'd likely upgrade the wheels and tires anyway and for my purposes the base model still handles great and stops great. Most of my need for speed will come in straight lines on open roads. If you're going to track the car you buy then the PP1 or PP2 would definitely be better since you can get magnaride and better brakes and cooling. Also you get wider stickier rims, tires and better sway bars. But I'm 99% sure in a drag race with traction being equal the base car with drag mode and 3.55 gear option. Will beat the PP1. It's just lighter.
