Realistic budget @ $600 a month in the province? Could you do it? HD 1080p

This is real. I've had many requests to provide a budget here in the province. BTW other than rent this budget is also good in medium sizes cities as well. You will see several levels of food shopping from the public market, Neighborhood markets and specialty markets like S&R. This budget includes a house that is for rent near where I live. It doesn't get more realistic than that

As someone who has recently been diagnosed with diabetes (controllable) and high blood pressure, one of the main reasons i am looking forward to relocating to the Philippines is access to cheaper fresh produce, seafood and meat. Also, not constantly exposed to processed foods and the marketing of it. Throw in a gym membership and those conditions should not be an issue.

Thank you for doing this video. I'm astounded by the selection and prices of food there. We think everything we have in the USA is good. I am looking to retire soon and will be leaving the US. Your videos are very helpful for those of us who are wondering what our retirement dollars will get us there. It's nice that some expats can go there and live like royalty but I like seeing videos that show a more realistic budget for most of us. And, it's not just about the money, as the people there seem friendly and the markets and stores are very clean. You are truly living the good life! I envy you!

Yes. It's the people and culture that have kept me here. The budget is for everyone to know exactly what to exapect. You saw the two bedroom house for $91 a month along with basic bills. When you have that covered then you can envision your options. But to truly accept a food budget it helps to see it and hear it from the vendors them selves

Another brilliant video, thank you!🙏 That house could be a perfect landing place for someone, as you said. Get a 3 year lease and spend $2-$3k doing it up, and you'd have somewhere nice to start out from. I like your house a lot better though, but my favorite was the "2 for 1" in an earlier video that needs more work. Landing in Manila in within 48 hours, can't wait to start checking the place out for the first time!🙂 Your videos are raising the bar for other vloggers in the PH, and great to see you started memberships now too. Very informative, and thank you, as always by showing the variety of places there are available and easy accessible to buy your food. The supermarket wasn't a bad size at all, with a great selection throughout, that hypermarket was bigger than anything we have in the UK, you could spend more than you want to! I have seen on other vlogs that have also shown that there are many shopping areas ranging from wet markets, to supermarkets. With a huge selection of goods including imports, so you can eat what you want...at a cost but worth it if that is what you fancy. There are also road side stands where you can buy fruit, veg, coconuts. Most foreigners do not like all fillapino foods but do find alternatives, and that includes eating out, except some food is often sold cold and we do tend to prefer hot served meals The selection in the Costco store was brilliant too, you can buy all things for the home there and I would imagine the prices were reasonable for quality goods. That house was very good value for the price per month. And yes like yourself, I would paint and clean the entire house if I were to rent it which wouldn't cost that much considering the labour charges there. Unlike your place, this one is furnished and although the furniture and kitchen and bathroom is not to my taste, if that were my base and most days I spent were out and about I could live with it for the money. On a personal note, I would love to know what you mean when you say social security. Is this a benefit you get in the US that you can still get while living abroad, as you don't mean it to be the same as a pension, which you receive when you reach a certain age like 65 for instance and you can be living anywhere in the world to continue getting it. You have seen a lot of the Philipines in your two years there, and still intend to travel, do you have a favourite area so far? The humidity would be my main concern, and the mosquitoes, but I would imagine both vary as to where you are, and whether or not it is rainy season. I recently watched someone visit Bagio, I liked whatI saw but would have liked to see moremof it. It has the cooler climate which makes it more appealing although its all on a mountain so walking uphill can often be a challenge, lol. Sorry, I didn't realise just how much I was waffling on...this comment is huge. Thanks again for your vlog, so well narrated and put together by the way!
@Ex-Pensive_Expat
@Ex-Pensive_Expat 3 месяца назад
Social Security from US government is the national pension we all pay into. I haven't seen a mesquite problem here and the humidity the last month has averaged under 60% from the times I've checked. There is a lot of misinformation or over stated information about the Philippines. Half of the states in America have hotter and or worse humidity than here. I have several Baguio videos. Let me know what the think. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iT-K9sE_Z-I.html. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4BibEJxtDgY.html. Depends on the region. I've been to Surigao and Butuan, Surigao is very limited. Butuan is pretty good. It's like living in city with just one kroger and a couple IGAs vs a city that has 4 Walmarts and a Costco.

Yes exactly. Like I said in my video there are areas that won't even have a Pure Gold without driving 30 minutes. But they will have public markets. And the ones that don't have the larger stores won't need to worry about the upper end of their budget. They will live on even lower than $600.

😎👍🇺🇲 Fantastic work brother. I'm a coffee drinker. My first trip back in 2014. It took two days to find coffee and creamer ( Folgers instant and Nettles creamer). Of course I was in Davoa city. My last trip (Apr last year). I was prepared for the limited supplies. I brought coffee and creamer, not to mention it shipped over a ton of goods before hand. The 7/11 across the street from the hotel had my brand of creamer in small packets 🤦 Robinsons had it by the kg. Anything you need is available in the popular cities. You may have to search and it might cost a little more but it there somewhere. Personally. I wouldn't be worried but not finding anything I'd need. Just like here. I make a trip to Costco and load up for the month. Be the same there. Load up and relax 👍 Keep up the great work ✌️ Maybe some information on transporting goods from one place to another without personal transportation? Might be a good topic?

Another home run. My belief is that one should emerse themselves in the local culture. Shopping at the local markets, supporting the local economy, is the best way to do so. It's great seeing all avenues of food shopping, but my money would be better spent at the market. There are outlets that have the must, but I love the introduction to the local economy. I must also add one more thing, moving to the Philippines, remember the metric 😂.....2.2 lbs equals 1 kilo.🎉🎉🎉

My wife and I have a house near Santa Ignacia, Tarlac. When we're there we do most of our food shopping at the local public market for our meals and the prices and quality is good. A lot of times the way that meat is presented isn't in the most sanitary manner, but it will be fresh. We buy our veggies, eggs, chicken, pork chops and sometimes even a beef at the public market and it's always good tasting and cheap.
