Useful tip: If you hold shift when adding an object, it adds it as a child of the already-selected object. A handy labour-saver when adding deformers. Also, alt adds an object as a parent.
great technique with FFD. thanks for sharing. i stopped using C4D depht pass completely, since i found out about the Position Pass (Camera Z). there is no AA on it and it doesnt mess up DOF in After Effects like the original depht pass does.
Bob, I am new to C4D & animation in general. I'd like to say how much I enjoy your tutorials, I have searched widely in my quest to become proficient & I feel your tutorials are the best I've found so far. Thanks & well done. If I might be cheeky, have you done a bow wave / wake tutorial yet? Or a swirling fog tutorial interacting with moving objects?
Thanx - really great tutorial. Nice wording, I like your speech:-) As "Red Belly Media" wrote, I would also be glad to get some hints for realistic moving objects on the ocean surface.
Super tutorial Bob. You gave us so much informations, tricks etc. I think you are a C4D Superuser. Thank you. Are you sure that ist not a video at the end, look so real.
Very nice. But it will be better when having a flat horizon. Because it still make some "lost some ocean parts" feeling. Still need more larger and large scene :D
Thanks for this incredibly helpful series, Bob! At 53:26, you say Hot4D isn't for big, crashing waves with foam and spray. Could you suggest another, ideally free, plugin for C4D that may be more suitable? Appreciate you.
This is awesome I have a tutorial request, can you please make a tutorial on how to do a high quality explosion with xparticles and render out in standard c4d renderer, its very rare to find this kind of tutorial and ive been stuck for 2 days already and I can’t get my explosion to look real ☹️
Would you please advise me how to get rid of the grid and workplane. So that there is only empty space. It's visible in render and it doesn't make a nice impression there.
Awesome tutorials Bob! is there a reason that you don't use the after effects cineware plugin? I'm completely new to cinema 4d and don't know a lot about rendering.
+Red Belly Media thanks! I haven't used Cineware much to be honest. When I did experiment with it though, I found the rendering stage very slow. I might be wrong - it could just be a perception thing, but it did feel slow. That said, i know people who swear by it, so if you're new to the software and don't have an existing workflow that works for you, it might be worth learning it.
Also If you have any ideas for moving a boat across a hot4d ocean scene without having to use realflow, that would be an amazing help for one of my projects :)
C:\Code\Ocean\cinema_4d_s24_projectool\kernel_app_64bit.exe g_updateproject=C:\Code\Ocean\sdk 'C:\Code\Ocean\cinema_4d_s24_projectool\kernel_app_64bit.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. This is what I'm getting. Can anybody help?
