I really hope you enjoy this tutorial! Is there an effect you’d like to see in the future? Name drop it in the comment and stay tuned! Who knows, maybe it will be the next effect I cover! Additionally, Cascadeur just announced a new feature for retargeting animations to different meshes! This may help retargeting my file linked in the description ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8o3aKaW_-C0.htmlsi=phUwEHfg_FJ4vdlG
Bro question, actually I am curious about in 3d, vfx and chi, I want to start learn all these things, can you tell me how many years does it take? .Thank you
Hey mate! I’ll be honest, I’m actually pretty new to Blender myself, as well as 3D animation. If you saw my Spider-Man effect from 4 weeks ago vs now, it is a clear night and day difference in quality. I attribute my visual success to, basically, focusing on one effect at a time. Rather than learning the program as a whole, I focus on just making one effect at a time, and research the skills needed to make it happen, like what plug-ins to use and what programs to use. If you set your goal on one effect at a time, you’ll build a knowledge base to apply it to any effect! I hope you enjoyed this video ❤️❤️
Incredible work!!! 🔥🔥🔥 Could have done with finding this video a couple of months ago before I shot this! 😫 It’s EXACTLY what I was trying to achieve! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lx8BX_AihiA.htmlsi=NJl1EeRq3_pUMrps I used fspy for the camera setup. I’m still figuring out my workflow for this kind of thing. Is it better to camera track in after affects rather than in blender itself? Some really handy tips in here for my next project. Thanks heaps for taking the time to share this my friend 🤘🏼
Glad to hear it! Honestly, the Blender camera tracker is *okay* and can be used as an alternative to AE2BLEND, but the After Effects camera, I find, is so much more reliable and accurate. I know it’s a paid plugin, but it is a relatively cheap up front cost for a lifetime worth of possibilities !
@@GimbleProductions Awesome, thanks 🙏🏼 I’m not that familiar with AE but have used it for a few projects so will give this a crack. I really like how well the model fits with the scene here. I plan on doing a bunch of stuff with Lego VFX compositing so will refer to this vid and some of your others. Are you on any other platforms? Are you contactable directly? Where in Aus are you? I’m in Adelaide but when I’m not making vids I fly for Virgin Australia so get around the country a bit.
this is a really fanstastic tutorial, really covers everything i was looking for where i currently am with blender, after i mastered adobe products over the years i finally decided i should jump into blender, so as sombody who has only been using blender for a month, i love that this tutorial utilizes the after effects tracking plugin as that is something i have been looking into as aposed to blenders tedious tracker. i will definity be putting this to use. thank you very much! also mixing those animations in cascadeur was brilliant!
When I import my T pose from Maximo to Cascadeur (I bought the good quality spiderman) at 10:00min of your video, the green lines are longer than yours. Then, when you change the view to joint mode, the joints highlighted in blue on your video are at body size. Mine are bigger than the spiderman body size. Let me know if you have an idea why? How can I scale this down?
Hmm… I’m not too sure if I’m honest and I wish I had a more knowledgeable answer to provide. It might be worth messaging the Cascadeur support chat for a more suitable answer
Thank you very much - I have seen tutorials on RU-vid for Spider-Man effects, but I would say mine primarily focuses on the realistic aspect and less of an animated look. This would work really well for fan films! I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
Interesting! Hmm, make sure all the keyframes in the After Effects layer are highlighted blue before performing the copy command with CTRL + C. I would also suggest making sure you are copying the keyframes with your time cursor at the start of the timeline in After Effects. Always copy the keyframes with the player at the start of the timeline! Please let me know if that helps
Interesting - make sure there is only one camera in your blender document I’m not completely sure why you are having that issue - what did the video look like in your scene?
Good question! I find the After Effects camera tracker far superior to that of the Blender tracker, and that is an opinion shared by many others online / blender forums etc. It is not a requirement that you use AE2Blend, you could use the Blender tracker for this project if you want to do it without buying the plugin, but for $10 it was a worthy investment
@@GimbleProductions I don't disagree! Especially since AE's tracker can approximate your camera and lens settings if you don't know what they were. I think my only issue is that for the purposes of a tutorial, folks who wanna know the techniques would wanna know how to accomplish it using as few software as possible, right?
@@xalenerWhile true, I figured if you’re serious enough to try and make professional looking CG scenes as a beginner, perhaps it’s good to introduce tools to succeed to those new to the programs! I did suggest some alternatives for those looking for other solutions so I hope that caters to those people ❤
The motion capture data is unchanged and matched to the fps of the footage, so a lot of the motion would be pretty accurate to reality - I appreciate the feedback, though I’m happy for you to create your own version that suits your ideals ❤️
That would be interesting! I hadn’t even considered doing Cascadeur tutorials. Truth be told I’m quite new to Cascadeur as well, with some extra time to practice, I’ll make some in future!
Sadly I know it is not a free plug in, however, you could use the blender camera tracker instead! I find AE2BLEND and the After Effects tracker way more reliable though. There are some free alternatives online than AE2BLEND, have a search on RU-vid for ‘track without AE2BLEND’ and some results might come up!
@GimbleProductions I have already searched for many ways, but I prefer using your way it's simple and understandable. It's not a big problem to buy this addon compared with what you get a new skill that will improve your skills.
@@GimbleProductions something I have wanted to learn is to be able to track 3D elements onto people. For example a helmet onto myself or a 3D object into a hand. For the types of videos I make that would be very useful.
