Acrylic April Painting Challenge begins April 1st 2020- no joke
30 Days, 30 Powerful Little Paintings
We hope that Every April, artists from all over the world take on the Acrylic all April painting challenge by doing one small acrylic painting every day for the entire month.
I am creating the #AcrylicApril challenge as a way to introduce painters to the gifts of daily painting with Acrylic.This monthly challenge will help every acrylic artist unlock the true potential of the acrylic medium and their art own voice.
Anyone can do Acrylic April,
Just grab your paint, your brush and hit the studio( even if it’s your kitchen Table).
#AcrylicApril rules:
1) Make a painting on a surface 12x12 or smaller. ( sorry for the confusion)
2) Share it online
3) Hashtag it with #AcrylicApril and #AcrylicApril2020 #ItsNoJokeAcrylicApril and be sure to add the day of the challenge, or word prompt, etc
4) Repeat Daily from April 1 ( no fooling) to April 30th
How to do the Challenge
Do your best to paint daily. Some Days may be artwork you are excited about some days you may scribble out an abstract but under no circumstances should your be hard on yourself. If you make 30 little paintings you are a winner. If you make less than 30 you are a winner. Do your best

I am working on #AcrylicApril now...in June. A little late than never! I finished the piggy yesterday and named him Wilbur and even wrote on my canvas 'That's some pig!' (Charlottes Web). Now I'm starting this! My daughter and my Mom asked me why a pig and why strawberries, since it seems random; I responded 'Don't ask why, ask why not?' 😊🤪 You are by far my favorite teacher I've used in learning to paint. Month 4, before that I had never touched a brush or made any type of sketch. I thought I would be horrible and had no talent. I'm still not a leonardo davinci but I've improved a LOT. My very first painting I ever attempted was one of your tutorials. It was a winter landscape theme with a river through it. It's so horrible but it's on my wall to remind me how far I've come. How long does it take to dry?

It takes several days to dry completely, more if you are using impasto effects, if thick impasto, it can take weeks to be completely dry. 🧡

I Love painting W/U & I love every photo that U decide to paint, However I can't paint W/The Grids, they mess me up every time. So Needless to say I come on Ur screen just long enough to see if Ur painting W/The Grids & if U R then I go follow someone else. ...... Just thought U'd like to know so Maybe just Maybe U'd go back to the NORMAL way of painting...... PLEASE......... MAYBE????? I miss U & John & the Gang......

Adele Thank goodness you commented. Its really a shame you go elsewhere (unless you love the lesson) as every single painting STILL has a traceable. I don't take things away from my students I ADD things . I am glad you commented as you may have missed out on countless paintings and lesson you could have done if you checked the video, website or description. If you don't want to grid its literally the easiest step to skip and just free hand or use the traceable. Also references are on the pages as are step by steps. @@Wildflower1880, don't apologize sweetie. I'm glad you shared that instead of keeping it to yourself. Everyone has challenges. Some are visible to others while others are not. Keep doing what you enjoy! Learning to grid is expanding your skills, but I love the traceables on the Art Sherpa's website for when I want a little less stress. There's also been a few times when I've "eyeballed" it because my brain couldn't make sense of the grid and my traceable didn't fit my canvas/printer. Just keep painting.
