The commenter above me is correct, ALL phones whether they have service or a signal or not can contact 911 and it will work. I am a nurse in the US.

One correction- 2.5 lakh student came to US was just for the year 2022-23. If you consider 36 incidents since 2018 for US then this number is way too less for total of ~2.5 lakh each year since 2018. But obviously as you said any incident is unfortunate and shouldn’t have happened at all.

US is still relatively safe. Canada has reported 91 deaths of Indian students since 2018 followed by the United Kingdom (48), Russia (40), the United States (36), Australia (35), Ukraine (21), Germany (20), Cyprus (14), Italy and the Philippines (10 each) If you compare the total number of Indians in each country, US is the safest.

Being an international student myself, honestly I never cared about part time coz in the long run it would have not helped me any way. Better to devote more time on studies and find a good job instead of working illegally, was fortunate enough though to find a TA job in my dept itself which helped me take care of my pocket money

@@debanikgoswami4834Job market is abundant and not to worry coz my son is doing his MS in Computer and Systems Engineering at University of Houston and he attended a job fair at the campus and was overwhelmed at the number of companies he saw with lots of opportunities. By the way he is specialising in Robotics Engineering.

But can you seriously say that it is still safe even though the statistics are less. Can you really guarantee that it is safe to go out during the night in US. The gun law, homelessness, drugs problem they are pretty serious in US. It is still definitely not very safe.

Please don't trust the opinions and conclusions of NRIs on safety standards of US. Rely on the information you get from the local population in US whose ancestors were in US for generations. Check out their videos to get a much better picture of US.

Rajat bhai yeh do case humko sikhate hain ki dont be a over decent person. Aaj ka time achhe logo ka nahi hai yeh duniya tit for tat ke formula par chalti hai. Mera sidha sa hisaab hai. Be a good with good person but be a monstar with bad person dont show any kind of mercy for them. Main bohot sidha or simple insaan hoon jab tak samne wala ungali na kare. Agar samne wala jarurat se jada uchalega then trust me i will make sure ki woh chahe koi bhi ho apne pairo par chalkar wapis nahi jayega. Aaj kal ka time essa nahi hai ki aap police ke aane ka wait karo kai baar humko khud hi action lena padta hai. May be meri baat logo ko achhi na lage but i belive in always prepare. Jaha tak ho sake self deffence seekho martial arts seekho hum har jagah weapons carry nahi kar sakte isliye khud ko itna trained karo ki jarurat padne par khud hi hathiyar ban sako. Taki kam se kam apni or apne logo ki jaan to bacha sako.
