Mahindra should also launch a limited edition Thar with 175 bhp and 400 - 450 nm torque with special edition features like upgraded suspension from Bilstein or Fox which is more capable on and off road and they should make the ladder frame more stable and robust. Mahindra should increase the ground clearance to a minimum of 245 mm like the Jeep Wrangler. Special items like billet gear knob for both automatic and manual, larger upgraded touchscreen and music system, overall improvement in quality of the vehicle. Mahindra can do a limited run of 5000 units with a price increase of 3 to 5 lakhs. There will be many takers for this kind of special limited run vehicle with actual mechanical and cosmetic upgrades. BLD is for Break Locked Differential, a single Brake lock differential is installed for rear and all wheel drive. it's a Dextered ( improvised, चतुर ) software implementation of allready existing Electronic Brake Distribution ( EBD ) Mechanism . Which Locks the wheel which is free to turn, by applying Brakes , thus turning the wheel which is stuck or not turning. MLD is for Mechanically Locked Differential, This uses mechanical gears and levers to lock the Differential installed at the axels , front to rear and for left or right front and rear wheels. For hardcore offroaders mechanical is better but it's to heavy, because of lot of mechanical parts are there . Where as BLD is better for casual offroading But it's not less capable than MLD
Before Thar RWD was launched there were lots of speculations, review and first drives. But we all knew only Ravi can give a real life view of it, proud to booked on first day and still waiting to know when deliveies will start and when mine will be delivered 🤣

I dont know about Jimny..but Thar interior quality is very average...plastics are average, just like Alto quality and fit and finish is very basic. Rear seat and front sitting are just ok. On highways after anything above 80 km/hr, it becomes very wobbly and bouncy. May be its good for off roading only...
Mahindra needs to control its waiting period and the dealers forcing customers with mandatory accessories in order to deliver the suv as early as possible. Only than it's sales are going to be at par with Jimny otherwise Jimny is going to eat too many sales figures of Thar if priced properly.
True👍 I have booked jimny, though due to its popularity in the international market and we know the capacity of suzuki in manufacturing petrol engines, further I guess it's built on the same platform as legendary jipsy.

If you like looks of thar, fir thar aapke liye hai, but...... agar aap practicality chahte ho or you need best off-road capability like land rover than JIMNY is for you + price again + factor hai,,, so Jimny is win win situation for us
A vehicle without - Diesel engine , A pillar grab handles , proper approach and departure angles , AT/off road tyres , underbody safety plates , 4×4 ....... can't be declared as a SUV 😌
Real test of Thar or Jimny is that on what speed you can engage and dis engage 4WD. Not sure about new Thar but I have been using MM540 and Classic. Those jeeps has to be either still or 10kmph if you want engage the 4WD!!! And disengaging is in fact more effort. But the biggest selling point of Jimny is that they have been claiming to engage and disengage 4WD even at 100kmph. I know Mahindra can't even touch the Suzuki gearbox elegance
Ravi bhai namaste, How come this is good for travelling ? Ride comfort, suspension, mileage, no space ? This needs to be bought by people with more money ,its must be 3rd option while choosing a car
Bhai ,we 3 frnds travelled in petrol thar 4*4 for 600 kms , mostly on flat surface and some rough areas, there was no comfort at all, seating worst , it was very tiring journey , can t go more than 80 speed , wind shield noise huge letdown , except for engine refinement, its not worth at all , just my experience, thar road presence is too good other than that nothing ,just my personal opinion nothing personal bhai
@@raghu853 Thank for your inputs bro! This Is the actual reality. Mahindra wants people to believe that the thar can replace the Creta, Taigun, Kushaq type vehicles. Even though these are smaller cars and are designed keeping city congestion in mind, on highways they are better than the Thar any day. Much more comfortable, minimal body roll, no nausea as a result and better fuel economy. Only off road enthusiasts should consider it. Even those who buy it as a secondary or third vehicle end up just keeping it parked as it is very tiring to drive for long journeys.

A 3 door car can never become a family car, this can never become a rival to creta or seltos. Mahindra will soon increase the price of this car, once the waiting period goes beyond 6 months. This is what Mahindra is doing since last 2 years, look what they've done to Scorpoio N and xuv 700. Jimny will smoke each and every car in 4*4 segment.
Mahindra has big experience in SUV COMMANDER 4x2 was life line of the uttrakhand hills in past 20 year old MAHINDRA MAXX 4X2 still running in uttrakhand hills doing offroading easily many will come many will go noone can compete with mahindra in giving reliability and value for money vehicle
Since I am in the hills, Jimny is more suitable for me, in comparison, Thar has many issues apart from the one discusses by you, five door is a blessing to start with and Thar in 5 door will be a replica of old model Bolero..! I already have XUV500 and i am fed up of the Mahindra service which no one is talking about...also in rains there is a seepage issue in the hard top in many vehicles, which is not there in Jimny. Cost and mileage is a big factor to consider as well, look and feel is for the extravaganza i believe, for the pragmatic ones, Jimny is here..!

Why you shouldn't buy Thar. 1) Not at all family car. 2) No backseat access making it only 2 seater most of the time. 3) Not at all comfortable for long journey. You will get only fatigue and nothin less. People looking for adventures have to waste energy even before reaching the destination. 4) Only for people with true enthusiasm for off road driving and wandering zist. 5) Only for rich people because people with 10 lakh package can't afford secondary car just for fun or enjoyment. 6) Not a 4*4. 7) Options available are not that bad.
Jimny is a very capable car , sold more than 30 million worldwide due to its versatility and capabilities, has even beaten hummer in an proper off road test...... not demeaning mahindra thar but it would be as capable as thar if not better .....

Thar is for highways and small offroadings. Jimny is for serious offroading. Specially new thar se achhi offroading wagonR kar sakti he. Bigger is not always better, slim FWD can beat broad and bulky 4WD in offroading.
I could not understand - you said MLD nahi milta hai, par milta hai....kya milta hai, unclear... 4X2 5 door Thar under 4 metres is required if Mahindra really wants to compete with Jimny. Otherwise, Jimny is a new segment and much more practical with 5 doors than Thar 3 door 4X2, and Jimny will keep winning and selling in this space at this kind of cost (say 10 lacs). In fact, Mahindra should add their 1.2L new turbocharged petrol engine (129 BHP) to 4X2 version of 5 door Thar and make it under 4 m - that will hit Jimny hard because the pricing will be close to 10 due to tax benefits. Other car that can compete with Jimny is Bolero Neo with AWD (if not 4WD).
@@NavnishNigam engine is different here, new thar rwd comes with xuv300 diesel engine with 6 speed transmission, in neo engine is slightly underpowered with 5 speed transmission

full family jeep wrangler 5 door me ache se nahi aith paate, tum thar 5 door me full family baithane ki aat kar rahe ho.....thar 5 door bhi bolero neo size ki hi aayegi...jeep wrangler is bigger in size as compared to thar
Spiti ya ladakh mei normal Alto Swift jesi gadia chalti hai sir log wha pr normal gadian use krte hai ....... I think hype jada bna rkha hai until or unless apko off road nahi krna hai 4*4 is not at all required
Dont be confuse guys thar is off-roading vehicle. Breza and nexon se compete kaise kregi . Jisko breza lena bo breza he lega . Jisko comfort chahiye . Jhula kyu jhule . Normal road per .. upr se 4*4 bhi ni esme . To eska utility kya hua es segment me.. breza nexon venue are bettar then this.
I commented on some Facebook post that Jimmy is underpowered and can't even compete with thar RWD. But some mahapurushs commented that you don't know about Jimny's capabilities, it is scapegoat etc etc. Looking forward for your point and comparison between thar RWD and Jimmy as it no way near thar 4×4, so can't be compared
Man don't depend on any random youtubers words who himself haven't checked for vehicles limits. Just type jymny offroad in youtube and you can find videos testing vehicle to its limits. Even if u don't trust that then go and ask any person who does rallies or offroads and ask him about performance of suzuki gypsy in offroads, and this jymny is forefather of gypsy. Just do ur research, don't blind beleave paper specs.

Weight of jimny is only 60% of thar so 105 hp of jimny is 175 equivalent to weight of thar, similarly 130 NM torque is eq to 216 in Thar weight , no 4 wheel . Only unknown factor is drive quality which will be known after test drive, Fuel effficiency is also good for Jimny.
Thar looks huge ! However, despite its ‘hugeness’, no luggage space and a hassle to access the rear seat. Jimny, while diminutive, it has fairly good boot space and moderately usable back seats.

I have an Ecosport Diesel, same like you. So, will I get a better driveability or a better overall car if I upgrade it to Thar RWD or Jimny ? Existing Ecosport has no issues, it's just a 6 year old car.
