Green kawasakis are faster 😛 nice review, thanks for taking the time to put this together. Anything that moves a thief onto the next bike without a lock is worth while 👍

What i not understand - why i must have 4 screws and why i can open it when its looked? If you are cautious you mayve could open it without alarm (or short only) and the alarm are disabled. So why this is not a part of the Keylook? It schould be only and easy open the electronic if the look is opened. But i saw this at multiple models and for me its an fail in the designe. But anyway. this keys are avaible 20€-30€ and its a cheap first save (Its saver with as without i thing) - and the used batterys are crab - why not usual batterys like aa or aaa - akkus in and you could reload. But anyway. Thx for the Video

I got one of these badboys for myself a couple weeks back for my new road bike (£850, Boardman SLR8.8 in case anyone is wondering). If you do get this, I very much echo the recommendation to pair it up in conjunction with a much more beefy primary lock (I got a £60 Halfords Advanced D lock which is sold secure diamond rated). Also have a lightweight (low security) chain lock left over from locking my previous bike. Thus together I have a triple lock setup (including the REAPP lock). I did some tests with it and boy this thing is terrifying to use, feels like I'm carrying a hand grenade. Haven't even set off the siren yet but the anticipation is killer. Hopefully would-be theives feel the same way. I found the following from my tests (if anyone's considering whether to buy one I hope my results are useful): 1) The "warning beeps" reset after a period of time (I think 30 seconds but I left it a couple minutes in the test). While definitely exploitable, for me this is a good thing because it means that if someone triggers the warning beeps it's not going to immediately scream in my face the moment I try to unlock it. 2) If you're gentle with it you can put the key halfway in the lock without triggering the sensor. You do need to do a little bit of wiggling with the key to get it to go in (but again this won't trip the sensor if you're careful). Edit: Make sure you're holding the lock securely with the other hand while you do this. 3) Once you have the key halfway in the lock push it all the way in and turn. It's spring loaded so you don't have to pull it up. This will trip the sensor so you have about 1.5 seconds to unlock it without setting off the siren. It can sometimes "false bottom" meaning you think you've got the key all the way in but you haven't and therefore it won't turn. Be wary of this and make sure you really push the key in. 4) I recommend practicing #2 and #3 without the batteries in to make sure you have the technique down. You don't want to look like a bike thief stealing your own bike. If you execute the technique correctly you should hear 1 out of 3 of the warning beeps before it's disarmed. 5) Even the warning beeps (as well as the beeps when you arm it initially) are fairly loud (louder in person than in the video). Fine in the middle of the day but definitely bear this in mind if you're biking very early in the morning. Judging by the video (as well as my tests), I think the sentitivity is fairly low (which is good as I don't want false alarms), but it still does the job. Despite this I've normally been using this thing without the batteries over the past couple weeks (just as a deterrent, I keep the sticker on). But I used it with the batteries in today in the centre of town (Reading). There was definitely some wind but wasn't overly windy. My bike is not freestanding but it is fairly secure from movement with my other locks. I got my haircut fairly close in proximity to where I locked my bike, no false alarms that I could hear (at least not the full siren, the noise of the barber's tools may have obscured any warning beeps) which is good. I still don't trust this thing not to malfunction at 3am (which would be incredibly embarrassing), thus I only plan on using it with the batteries when leaving it unattended in the centre of town (higher risk) such as today. Only thing I wish is a disarmed mode (which would also double up as a safe transport mode) without having to take the batteries out. But then again it's £20-£30 so you get what you pay for really. I very much echo the advice you gave of putting the pad in the way of the locking pin while you're cycling with it. If you didn't have the pad, even when it's in its case I could see it easily being armed by accident.

After replacing batteries for a new set (included in the box) the alarm goes off by itself every few minutes... Day & night... Very frustrating. Disc Lock never used outdoors... Kept in the garage all the time. Never got wet or frozen. So why the problem?
