One of these just came into the shop and I was looking all over the place for a bolt next to the tail lamps. Had no idea it was just a clip. Thanks for this video. You saved me a ton of grief.
Another thing that will help. Even keeping an upward push on the quarter panel will not keep the tabs from breaking in front of side marker lights. Best thing to do is take that thin trim pry tool, blade end, and push it in the crack and find the tabs. when you've found it, push down a little and it will "release" the tab clip rather than just pulling it out with brut-force.
I have done this so many times working on my backup light bulbs I can do it in my sleep. It really is easy to do when you have finally done it once and get over your fear. However, there is a slight mistake in this video. The correct Torx is a T-20. A t-15 will work and seem like it is the correct size, however, one little slip up and you strip out the hole. The body guys at Chevy told me it happened because I used the wrong size Torx. So, use a T-20!!!
Good video and explanation but I would live to meet the person who designed the backup lights so you had to remove the bumper to change the stupid bulb. Idiot
Appreciate this... I do PDR and am dealing with this having to do this on a hail car. It comes off much in the same way a Honda Accord/Civic. Well done.
Getting the rear bumper off these cars are pretty darn easy. It's the front that is a little bit more trouble. Another reason I say these Cars are designed with customization in mind.
I own a 2012 Camaro and just got rear ended by an idiot. Need to replace the whole bumper on my bumblebee. I was wondering about the white rear back up lights and how you unhook them from the bulbs/sockets. Are there clips or wires because they light up or do they come off with the entire bumper Could you please help me by explaining? Your video was very easy to follow! I just need help with the reverse lights and how they disconnect before I try to replace it! Thank you! 👍🐝👍
thanks for the video I'm thinking about putting a quad exhaust on my 2015 SS Camaro its an automatic with the single dual exhaust already on it instead of two trips I will have 4 exhaust tips what do you think
I have a 2014 1lt. is this the same procedure? I can get the sides off but when I go to pull the read toward me it doesn't want to seem to budge. I took off all the screws torx and 7mm. I am trying to do a tail light swap.
You rock--thanks! I cannot believe I have to do this if I want to install my reverse camera. $#&%#*#*$( I think I have to find an alternate way to power the system.
Micheaux Green it won't fit, 14-15 is molded differently than the 2010-13 style. 14-15 is more rounded where as the older style is more pointy in the middle. Plus the tail lights are completely different as well and the bumper is molded differently around the tail lights.
