I got tired of replacing windows and hatches on my Jeep XJ Cherokee. I decided to fab up a rear hatch Lexan window for my 1998 hatch. Lexan is about 250 times stronger than average glass. The one on down side to Lexan however is that it scratches easy.
I picked up the Lexan (Polycarbonate) from Home Depot. I have enough for another hatch window and a pair of rear quarter panel windows.

That looks awesome. I was thankin u could have put A silicone bead around the plexiglass and then put a thin coat of oil around the edge of the hatch that would’ve created a rubber seal that would be removable from the hatch but stuck to the plexiglass

Before you put the lexan in, what did you use for the molding?

I didn't use any, but there is a 3m product called windshield adhesive ribbon Like this amzn.to/3xYKbmO If I were to do it again. I would use this and it will seal off the weather.

Looks nice. Since it’s plastic you can buff those scratches out.

Nice video! Do you think 3/16" was thick enough? It doesn't seem like it needs to be curved like the oem glass, huh?

I think so. It's flexible enough to bend if I put in into something, and yet rigid enough to not flop around in the cutout designed for the factory glass. The factory glass does have some contour to it, but very minimal. Im happy with it. I put it into a tree already and all I had was a few scratches, and no glass to clean up.
