Really enjoyed watching the install. Although I bought the my TT with installed front and rear H&R sway bar already back in 2010, I did not know that you can actually adjust them lol. Funny it only took me 12 years to realized what I have can be adjusted. You have to experience this to describe why the have these upgrades, as for me, it feels like cornering on a rail track. Are you planning on the front sway bar too from H&R?

Yes I do plan to upgrade the front to H&R at some point :) The rear made a major difference! I totally agree about the cornering on rails feeling. It is fantastic! I am glad to hear you liked the installation.

Great channel! I just bought a 225 tt over a week ago and then I found you. Just perfect! Great work! Where can I find a list of your mods? Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the support :) I am glad you're liking the car so far. I just updated a list of mods in the about section of the channel for you and would be happy to link you any specific parts you are interested in. I've also linked all the parts in their respective video. Thanks again!

It really is:) I'm thinking of fabbing up a bolt on straight pipe from there so I can swap it out when I want to have more fun! Thanks for the support.

@@HunterDirection That's what I would like to do. but age and bad knees say otherwise :((. I have a Stage 1 225 roadster. I love it. but I have been thinking of changing the sway bars. Not after speed just better cornering/roundabouts. Good videos, keep them coming please.

@@Al-qv5vs Thank you for the support:) I really appreciate it! The sway bays are one of my favorite mods I've done so far. It's a night and day difference.

Thanks for the video, I will be replacing my front & rear sway bars for a h&r kit also here in UK. I've heard the R32 or 4 motion sway bars are also good for the TT also

I am glad you enjoyed the video! That modification was one of the most noticeable I have done to the car:) Thanks for the support

I will be doing the upgrade to my 225 with a Golf 4 R32 rear Sway bar (19mm). For only 2 more mm, the H&R one is too expensive to me.

@@tubhmoobmuas9785 shame but hope you got results you wanted from that one. I found them on deal front and rear for £300. Cant get much better than that

Do you know the thread pitch for the nuts holding on the exhaust heat shield you took off for the rear sway bar install?

Hi, I just fitted the same rear bar to mine. Car feels great but I have a question - it now sits about 10-15mm higher and seems to be its new height after 200km on bumpy roads (so it’s well settled). Any ideas why? No other changes made. Already had lowered springs, good shocks etc
@HunterDirection
@HunterDirection 2 года назад
oh that is really interesting. I will do some research and see what I can find for you. I installed mine with the car on ramps so the suspension was already loaded. I didn't notice any difference in ride height on mine. I will let you know if I find anything as to a reason why that happened. Thanks for the support!

Great video! I installed a rear sway bar. I am wondering though would it be worth it to get an h&r front sway bar too? Or should I keep it stock and just replace the squeaky bushings on the front
@HunterDirection
@HunterDirection 2 года назад
That's a fantastic question. Having a relatively stiffer rear bar on a car that tends to understeer makes the car feel alot more neutral in a corner, but I'm wondering if you could upgrade the front as well and just keep it on the least stiff setting and maximize the stiffness setting in the rear to get the benefits of both🤔 I will eventually be trying this in the next few months I think:) thanks for the support!

Just had this part arrive and the holes on the bar are too small for the OEM AND my new gruvenparts endlinks....part numbers look right though. Odd.
@HunterDirection
@HunterDirection Год назад
That is really strange... Do you by chance know if you have a Pre recall car/suspension? I know the RSB was one of the changes they made to the car when it was swapped.
@maxstinehour6662
@maxstinehour6662 Год назад
@@HunterDirection it is a post recall, but H&R said the part was right. I ended up just going with OEM endlinks since I really don't have to adjust preload at my level of suspension tuning. Can always go with an R32 part number rear swaybar later on which fits most aftermarket endlinks (gruven) at least.

What size sway bar did you run?
@HunterDirection
@HunterDirection 2 года назад
I believe the H&R kit has a 24mm front and 21mm rear option. Both are adjustable too which is great! :)

Did the rear bar remove understeer? Wont a bigger bar on the front increase understeer?
@HunterDirection
@HunterDirection 2 года назад
You are spot on! The rear sway bar didn't entirely remove understeer, but it made the car notably more neutral in the corners. Rather than feeling front heavy like it did before, it feels like you could coerce the car into oversteer or understeer depending on how you approach the corner. This is exemplified in the snow. Plus less body roll makes the car feel better overall. A front sway bar would make the car understeer a bit more, but I think if you make sure it's on the least stiff setting and maximize the stiffness on the rear, you could counteract that.
