Another well produced and well thought out video, Hunter. In standard form the TT's chassis is it's Achilles Heel, but there is plenty of scope for improvement, as you know. When the chassis matches the engine it really is a great car. Keep up the good work. :-)
Thank you so much! That means alot to me. I agree. There is alot of room to make the car drive better. It's a fun process and a great platform! Thank you for your support.
I want an Audi TT 225 so bad. When I was little it was my favorite looking car and now that I know more about them I've been hunting them out. Your channel is only getting me more hyped to find a good quality tt to claim as my own.
I'm really glad to hear you are liking the videos! It's always fun to progress on a skill, so it means alot to hear you think it's nice to watch as well. I really appreciate your support!
Im very excited to do the same things on my Civic but i gotta get the tires and coilovers first! Recently bought it with only 57K km and a healthy engine so got lots of plans for it! Love your content as I can hear we have gotten alot of inspiration from the same place! Keep updating us! :D
I'm glad you enjoyed the video and the rest of the content! I'm really jealous of your Civic project haha. That's something I will absolutely do when I have enough space for another car. They are incredible platforms! Thanks for the support!
Great vidéo ! Since I own a 225 Bam coupé. I had a scary experience with ajustable rear ajustable bar years ago. From KW . One has broken down, fortunatly while driving in a car parking. I plan to replace my old Bilstein theses days by a brand new B14. And would like to re install ajustables bars. I guess I’m gonna buy a top quality ones. Don’t want to reproduce the bad adventure . Maybe some Forge.
The TT is coming along nicely. Looking forwards to see the suspension swapped. I'm about to swap the suspension on my own TT and I'm considering replacing the control arms, as they're pretty rusty. So here's a question: Are the top and bottom stock control arms the same length?
Thank you for the support! And that's a great question. When you order aftermarket adjustable ones, the top and bottom will be the same part. They can be set individually so the camber is balanced depending on your ride height though. On mine at stock height, they were roughly the same length with a really slight increase for the lower arms(rough measuring though). When I lower the ride height I am assuming they will need to change to hold a proper camber. I'm guessing the lower will need to be set longer. I will keep you updated when I get the car lowered and good to go at the new height. Thanks again!
@@HunterDirection Thanks for clearing that up. I'm having a hard time finding adjustable arms here in Norway, but there are plenty of aftermarket "stock" arms to get. But I've been confused about if there is an upper and a lower arm that are different lengths. I'll keep searching for adjustable arms here, or just bite the extra cost and order from abroad, as my new suspension will lower the car about 2.5cm.
just do the lower arms, 25mm lowering is slighty more over the facelift tt (20mm) so you could probably get away without them anyway, but if you want adjustable arms, check out silver project, theyre local in eu, good quality stuff for reasonable prices imo.
How were you able to remove the antenna? Does it leave a hole that needs to be filled? I have a 180 ATC version and im missing the antenna. The only thing left in its place is a gold/brass colored coin piece. I would like to remove it all together and clean up the looks.
Hey Hunter, I am following your route, tuning my daily TT. How was your toe spec before alignment? after coilover installation my toe went to 0.40 and 0.80 with original bars. Not sure this is normal due to long factory trailing arm bars
Where you at ? I’m in Ohio, for me to get an all new suspension like you did, do I also need these control arms? I want to do all of this right, not sure who in Cincinnati area can help adjust suspension as well as possibly helping me put it all on my 04 225
Hey man, I enjoy your content so thank you! I have an 02 225 in need of rear control arms. I too would like to get these same Megan adjustables so I can clean up the OEM camber issue and get the rear wheels perfectly perpendicular to the ground. So question, these arms are sold in sets as “camber arms” but is the set a top and bottom for one side or is the set bottoms or tops for either side. Any help would be appreciated, thanks man!
So you can actually use a set for either the upper or lower control arms. I got two sets so I could replace both of them at the same time:) Thank you for the support. I am glad to hear you're enjoying the content!
I am glad you are enjoying the videos! I have had nothing but a positive experience with the megan arms so far. They seem to be built quite well from what I can tell. I will definitely update everyone if things ever do go south. They were roughly the same length when I was at stock height, but now that I lowered they were adjusted so I had proper camber again. Thank you for the support!
