I was blessed enough to purchase one of kiko’s guitars off reverb myself. He will go down in history as one of the greats.. His talent is unmatched..

Whatever his reasons it's his decision. Family is more important than touring, and I'm sure Kiko will find his way to other projects. He's a superb talent and thanks to his decade long tenure in Megadeth is a big name now. He may also want to go in a different musical direction. He's an extremely seasoned and educated musician. I've heard him play Brazilian jazz fusion. We're talking about a guy so good he could have played in Return to Forever with Chick Corea or Weather Report. Just a world class player. I can't wait to see what he does next musically and wish him the best. Personally, I couldn't imagine touring with a band like Megadeth for one year, never mind a decade. Not because I don't like the music, but all that loud, aggressive thrash can really wear on the nerves. I hope Kiko has taken every precaution to protect his hearing. Newsted lost a lot of hearing with Metallica.

Why did I not hear of this gear sale?

I've noticed over the years if you check all photos with Dave & Marty Dave looks like he's oh a high enjoying it,When Marty left his expressions changed & hardly smiled.I think Marty leaving was a big shock to him.

Kiko needs to make money while being at home rising his kids.

Kiko don’t have to worry about money. Hell, he could be a top tier guitar teacher and charge 200$ an hour. Work 5 hrs a day and then be with his family. Thats 5000$ a week and almost a quarter million a year. More than enough to live like a king in his home country. Go into work at 10 am be off by 3:00. I’d take that gig any day of the week.

Biggest reason probably is being underpaid.

I sent him s message thru Instagram,thanking him for being dedicated a true profesional ,his posts about the little shit of touring snd life in megadeth was awesome ,Marty has nuthing to say ever,just stood ther look at what he said about Nicks death ,basicly nuthing,a cold self centered,abd when he comes back to play in japan thats fine but it felt like Kiko was allways being compared to this guitarist that is really a pop type player,Kiko got the grammy his solo are sick on new album tornado is ok but Kiko made dave play better write better he was the best guitarist thet had and Marty comes back to get noticed cause he is nuthing special in USA that is why he lives in Japan ,so i told Kiko that i heard Dave us ready to write new album and asked his band for ideas that was weird i think he was sending a message to Kiko to write album with him this last one shoul d have got a grammy and i said i hope you go record with megadeth caus like it or not ! You should be there to go to hall of fame and fuck Marty he should join poison! I have seen Megadeth in oakland day on green in beginning and with every guitarist Kiko was the best ,the band with dirk and james there tight ,Dave Mustaine goes out live diesnt fuck ariund he allways brings it ,rip Nick what i am trying to say kiko sent message back a couple hours later and said Thank you Tim ! I think Kiko wants to come back ,i think Dave wants him back he does his job ,i think all it takes is for Dave to go to Finland and pay him what he is worth and tell him lets take this to the wheels fall off ,that is my opinion Temo is good ,but Kiko gave his soul to this band ! And Dave just needs to thank him for the grammy ,i still dont beleave he left

Metallica had trouble with bass players Megadeth with guitar players So James and Dave plus Lars are not too different because are bullying guys ( James ,Lars,Dave and a little but Kirk) 💩 persons they can be nice with fans but on tunning room the history is too different . The same thing with Ronnie James Dio ( R.I.P) but sadly a demon guy with his musicians even Ritchie Blackmore said ( he's not a saint too ) but on a Interview spoken about Ronnie Dio :" he's a nice hoster when i go to his house but sometimes he show another side was like a Monster he laughed 😅

Suspicious how he quit after the Marty shows. I believe that was a slap in the face for him. It showed that no matter what he would always be just another guitarist in the long line of players Dave has had…personally, I thought it was disrespectful to do that to Kiko.

Not shocked. No one can last in the band with Dave. Everyone leaves. You are not a part of family, but just a tool for Dave to use

Maybe it’s because they made him play through those soulless modelers! stuff just steals the life from a guitar especially on a large stage I would have dumped that junk too let’s see if he goes back to his Marshall jvm410 or Laney I’m sure it will be something with actual tubes agains

didn´t shake me to the core, i´m happy he left i never liked him in the band or anything else he has been in due to my ex insane fascination with him she loves him i understand as she is a Brazilian i just couldn´t get into anything he did

well i mean kiko didnt fit the band all that well although the new album was good it just wasnt as megadeth as it shouldve been
