Reason to buy a Voyager over a Road Glide Ultra 

I have 54,000 miles on my 2012 Voyager. Fantastic bike. Rode a 2018 Road Glide a couple of weeks ago. Nice bike but like my Voyager just as much. Can`t get over the Harley price, even if they were about the same price, probably still choose the Voyager.

I have an 88 Voyager 1200 with 89K miles. The only thing that doesn't work is the cassette deck. Great video !

I own a 2010 version of this bike as sold in Australia. I notice the rear speakers. I assume these were fitted by the owner as they are not available on the Australian version of this bike. It has cruise control, a radio featuring AM/FM ( we do not have satellite radio in Australia) radio and a music player plug in through the left glovebox so music can be played through the on board system. The volume level is automatically adjustable as the bike's speed increases. Also fitted are ABS brakes with the KACT system which means using the brake pedal activates the rear brake and the right front disk whereas using the front brake lever activates and balances all three disks. Cruise control is standard as is the 6 speed box - the 6th gear is great for the highway. The screen and the lowers which can be opened in summer to allow for some air flow keep the wind off the rider and I reckon they should give the pillion good protection (although I have never been a passenger). There is plenty of luggage space if you want to take the bike on the road for touring which is what it is designed for. The dashboard is well laid out and in the eye line as you're looking at the road. If I were to suggest to Kawasaki one improvement it would be an electric, speed limited reverse gear. This is a heavy bike (400kgs wet), it is easy to roll into a nose in angle parking but impossible to walk out. Whilst reverse might not fit the cruiser aesthetic it makes sense - such a reverse is available on the Gold Wing and it does not detract from the look or cred of the bike. Again thanks for the video and test ride. The key can be removed once the bike has been started - this is to protect the chrome around the fuel cap.

I own a 2017 Voyager and really like it. It's highest selling point is it's price and very easy interest rate financing. I also own a 1993 Electra Glide that I bought new and still own. Love my Harley but bought the Voyager because I could afford it. Bottom line is the Voyager is half the price of a new Harley but is far more than half the bike. The few things it gives away are all things that are minor Taking the Voyages to Quebec next month. .Ride safe

I have a 2018 Vulcan Voyager. The bike is more then I’ll ever need. And once you get use to it. The 900lbs. It weighs isn’t that bad.

I had the first year ABS model - the cruise control hunted all the time, the motor vibes came through the frame to the rider and ran out of wind way too soon, the transmission was not as slick as the "05 Nomad I had. The motor ran very hot - I think they have corrected that now a days. Wind and rain cold air etc. comes up through and around the steering head. The intercom system was not up to par and the audio was not great either. I bought it because my "02 Nomad was fabulous and I expected more from the newer cooler model. Boy was I wrong. Didn't take me long to get my Ultra and all my dreams came true - better in every way. Oh and by the way - why on earth are you not wearing gloves? Words of wisdom - bare hands on asphalt - the asphalt wins every time!

I own a Vulcan 1600 Classic. You can try to accelerate from 10 mph in 3rd but the manual says you should be in second. That sound it made isn't grunting, it's lugging.

I know this is an old video. But I had to check out the review on this motorcycle. My heart is set on an Indian Challenger, or the Indian Pursuit. Just because I love the tour pack. Since those two bikes are out of my price range, I figured that this would be the next best thing. It’s right in my price range. I have my eyes on one right now. Same color👌🏽. God bless bro 🙏🏽.

Reaching over the highbeam switch to hit your horn in an emergency is prob the only bad thing

for the heat, you can do the Ivan if you flash, the engine is gonna run a lot cooler than factory setting

As always great vid. I have the Vaquero, sometimes i do have a problem with the heat but that is because I'm in Texas and you feel that when it gets up in the 100's outside temp. Like you said its part of riding, I ride all year around here.

I just tried out the 2021 model, and traded my 08 VTX1800 in for it. I'm looking forward to picking it up tomorrow!

I had an '09 they corrected the issue in 2012. My bike would get so hot you couldn't even ride it over 70 degrees. So glad they fixed the problem

I BOUGHT A 2010 VOYAGER ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO WITH 2,600 MILES ON IT FOR $7,700.00 AND HAVE BEEN VERY SATISFIED WITH IT. I CANNOT AFFORD A H.D. I DID CUT 4 INCHES OFF OF THE BOTTOM OF THE WINDSHIELD AND RE DRILLED THE BOLT HOLE PATTERN TO GET IT WHERE I LIKE IT. MY BIKE HAS PLENTY OF POWER IF YOU RIDE IN THE PROPER GEAR AND DO NOT LUG IT. OH, AND I REMOVED THE BAFFLES IN THE STOCK MUFFLERS, IT WAS TOO QUIET FOR ME.

my friend got a Harley and played to much and the first 2 years he stuck $2800 fixing it and after ONLY 71000 miles it needed a overhaul a 3000 bill great resale never buy a Harley Davidson HD stands for half done .the only good Harley was the v- rod but that engine was from Porsche.

If u can't afford a hd by all means get a Vulcan they're badass...

I have a vulcan nomad 1600 2008 and was wondering if I want to go full dresser if the voyager is a good upgrade ? Or if I can get a trunk fit in my voyager is that good enough? Obviously the voyager has radio which I don’t really care about but the cruise control is nice. Any suggestions?

"Light & nimble"? My 21' Vaquero is around 900lbs. "Light & Nimble" is not what I'd choose for a description, then again I mostly rode 79' KZ1000 ST's before I bought mine. Still love how it rides though for a "bagger".

These also have turn signal auto cancel, and an overdrive gear so tall that the highest legal speed limit in the U.S. is calm tot he point of serene. I just got mine and I really like it.

Deep love for the Vulcans. Started out on a Vulcan, had a few more even the Beasty 2000. Been on the Vaquero and Voyager more than once. Gotta say definitely like my Road Glide Ultra more.

had Kawasaki's growing up and really liked them, wish I still had my 1976 KZ900, but alas I had to sell it years ago. But I know ride a 2018 Harley Davidson Road Glide Ultra............I love it, 59,800 kms on to date, sadly its up on its jack in storage for the winter. Rode across Canada last year BC to Newfoundland and back in all kinds of weather. There are more money but nothing rides like a Harley, they may not be the most technically advanced but I love mine. But if I was going to buy different it would be the Kawi for sure

I just bought a 2011 vaquero. And the heat issue is definitely a complaint. A bike shouldn’t get to the 1st mark before H Fuel cut at low speed on off throttle is horrible

I think the kawi needs ivan reflash, priced affordable, fair resale value, gets very hot due to government standards for emission control, harley is more linear in throttle response, high resale value, ridiculously priced, better sound system, kawi reminds me of a copy , i know it shouldn't matter but it still does, both voyager and ultra are great 2 up touring bikes

There is nothing about ANY motorcycle that would make me believe a bike with very little R&D would cost 20K plus to make. Especially a slow HD bike with old technology. A Goldwing is the only bike I could see that costs that much.

Definitely if by considering Vaquero it's obviously a better choice to have added some extra, not much though, funds you will have a rich package, neither Harley no Indian will never let you for even not a close bid of such a money. That's why we are conceding markets to Japanese. Sure different people are preferring different riding styles, whatnot. In my opinion although Harleys, Indians and Hondas are not just expensive, in fact theyre but shamlessly overpriced, we are facing all this whimsical electronic issues imminently. For Gold Wing will regularly require to update a different aspects of its stuff as firmware, software which is responsible for no less but critical functions of a two wheeler. Kawi Voyager in its turn is representing a pure classics without much redundant electronics and so on. I'll consider it for the future bike after my current Kawi Vulcan LT which is great but underpowered for American freeway with it's rather ridiculous 905 cc.

Been riding my new to me Voyager and can't believe how much I love this bike. Test rode some Harleys but for the money they did not impress me any more than my bike. More updated features yes, but way overpriced.

The 09,10,and 11 didn’t have the fan that takes the engine heat off the rider. I have the 09. And in summer! Super hot in traffic! Like your legs get baked chicken heat!

Great bike ,road glide isnt all American made anymore . can't justify the pricetag and have had better performance from thr vulcans ,yeah yeah , aand Indian is the possible new harley ?? I hear that and ya know what ,as long as youre ridin , who cares ,enjoy the road .

No need to ride with the key in the ignition either. This way a rider won't scratch the tank while on road trips.

There are SO MANY VERY VALID REASONS to buy a Kawasaki Voyager over ANY Harley! COST to buy, own, maintain, and repair are ONLY A FEW of the VALID REASONS! Then there is DEPENDABILITY, NO "Harley DEATH Wobble", NO break downs along the road leaving you STRANDED, NO having to have it trailered back home, then there are the "other factors" the Comfort and Maneuverability! The ONE & ONLY thing that I can honestly say about "Harley" over any other GOOD Motorcycle, is that for some strange reason, Harley's ALWAYS COST MORE than ANY other motorcycle! Harley Davidson, the OVERPRICED, OVERRATED, MOST UNDEPENDABLE motorcycle on the market!

Voyager over Road Glide? Harley created a template in the Road Glide that Japanese manufacturers have tried to emulate for years in terms of aesthetics.. That was the basis for the Harley lawsuit against Honda several years ago.. Economically, the Japanese manufacturers offer a more affordable version of the "American Vision" of motorcycling.. In essence, the external attributes are similar in ocular perception but the Japanese engineering is missing the "soul" of the American biker experience to that which Harley Davidson embodies... It looks like a duck, it walks like a duck but at the end of the day that duck eats a bowl of rice instead of a steak.. Great vid, brother.. Thanks
