As a Irish man living in the north of Ireland this makes me happy to hear you have made Ireland your home and have such a positive attitude. I wish you loads of luck in the future.
I'm delighted you love living in Ireland. As an Irish guy living in Oz it's always good to hear people moving or visiting and enjoying it.I love the Irish twang in your accent.
Linda Bostoen Traitor to my own race?? Let me tell you something; I am Irish. A Gael. I also happen to be European. But i am not white, and the continent has nothing to do with us over here. That stupid umbrella term is frankly only useful in American history. The Irish were one of the first people's subjugated by Europe's colonial powers. My ancestors suffered through centuries of destruction and humiliation, which was justified because it was believed that we were backward and primitive and so brought it all on ourselves. I didn't see the rest of Europe tell the Brits that they were betraying their own race then. And yet, in the present day when Gaelic culture is at its last breath, the only people who show any appreciation for it are foreigners, usually non european. They put their kids through Irish language schools and get involved with the parishes. Perhaps mainland Europe has more of a problem because your arrogance stirs up old tensions. So you can keep your preconcieved problems with people's skin colour to yourself. Personality and culture determine behaviour, not skin colour. Gtf over yourself.
As an Irish guy living in Australia and not being able to afford to get home to Cork in 14 years I loved hearing your experiences and stories - you're a real credit!
Hello, I’m 3 years late watching this but I still appreciate your kind words about OUR country. I put OUR on capitals because being my irish is a state of mind and you have obviously mastered it
MisterMcCurry you really are a filthy beast of a human being! you sit there insulting these ladies who are praising our beautiful land... they are telling others how great our land is and how great the people are.. what impression do you give others of Ireland? a very bad one! you come across as a horrible nasty person.. people who read your negative scribblings will be left with the impression that Irish are a hateful people... please export your narrow minded arse to the an isolated island somewhere so you can live among your own idiotic company.. you clown😂
No theyre more like permanent tourists, most have degrees and professions. Your welfare's fine, come to the big Cities in England and your see how really shit it is.
Sorry but Donegal is the most beautiful part of Ireland, it was also named the coolest place on the planet by national geographic but Kerry comes in second.
Before ireland became christian the irish used to worship a serpent god called crom cruach who was the god of the underworld. So when its said saint patrick drove out all the snakes its meant that he drove out all the pagans.
I know Saint Patrick doesn't exist, because once I put him on an altar, I prayed to him many times and he did nothing for me. So, I'm sorry to tell you that he's a fictional character. LOL.
What's wrong with being different and having a personality? What's "normal" to you anyway here in the Western World? Being Atheist or Christian? People nowadays are an army of cheap slaves; all believing (or not believing) in the same things, all wearing the same clothes, all with the same stupid haircut, all getting out to work at the same time, having lunch at the same time, going back home at the same time, all fanatic of the same sports, all with the same addictions, all laughing at the same jokes, etc. You don't learn anything new by being part of the "army"; you just get stuck into the same habits and you never progress past mediocrity. Always in fear of what is new and different; all that could possibly get you out of the rut. A perfectly predictable brainwashed sheeple ready to serve until discarded like an old tool. So isn't it sad, to be a "normal" person?
Lovely video, so articulate and informative too!😊 Just a wee response to some negative comments😊The vast majority of Africans in Ireland work! They have integrated magnificently and now play Gaelic games with several on county panels, many can speak Irish and one Nigerian girl recently won a 100m gold medal in the European games, a first for Ireland! Oh and my stepson from Mozambique has boxed for Ireland 🇮🇪 😊 And how could anyone not want a girl like Chinyere and others like her in our country?!!😊😊😊
Chinyere Osuafor you're welcome😊 Keep up the good work and representations of Africans in Ireland. It sets a good positive example to other Africans too that they belong here and can achieve whatever they set out to. See u on tv some day!😊
Love this video, wish you all the best in your future in Ireland, I'm from Dublin still live there and I've noticed the change from when I grew up in the 80s to now. Ireland has become so diverse and it's fantastic I love walking through Dublin city centre and seeing all the different cultures and food.
There are 6 Celtic Countries, or perhaps 7 Galacia in Spain. It is interesting how people in the Celtic Countries and people who visit, many do not speak the Celtic language as it is part of the Culture. It could enhance the lives of everyone who lives in the Celtic Countries and people who visit to learn the Celtic language. It is non linear, the Anglo language is linear The Ogham script may be similar to 8 Ancient Trigrams invented 4000 years ago. When people who visit the Celtic Countries and use the Anglo language to say they live there, one does wonder if they understand, to live in a Celtic Country the Celtic language is the key. It is similar in other Countries whose language is non linear. Go raibh mhaith agat alig, as Tir Celtica.
I am glad you like living there. I've been there a few times and have some family in Dublin. My father is from Limerick so I am citizen and always wanted to live there. People are very friendly and much more laid back than the states.
Honestly, regarding the racism element...I don't really agree that Ireland isn't really that racist. For the most part, you're not gonna hear racist comments to your face because people are pretty polite in public and don't want to create a scene. However behind closed doors it can be a different story - particularly with the aul ones. The grannies in particular could be so nice to your face and then behind closed doors, they'll be spouting off all this racist shit to their families. And it also helps that you live in Town where there are more people of colour living. Down the country where there aren't as many POC living, it's a good bit more racist because people are more basing their opinions on stereotypes and what they're hearing through media. I think maybe in Europe there's also that somewhat unique thing where unlike in America, racism isn't just literally black and white. Like the discrimination that Eastern European face here is absolutely crazy. I actually think there's more everyday racism targeted towards Eastern Europeans than there is towards African people. Idk though, I'm not keeping a tally or anything but that is the general impression I get.
That's complete rubbish, everyone knows Eastern Europeans particularly Polish are extremely hard working for the most part. Africans immigrants are more welfare dependent that's just reality
Thank you for this encouraging vlog on Ireland. I've never been there in my life; however, you have given me good inventive to voyage out there anytime soon! You have just found yourself a new subscriber! X
zavi13 I'm a farmer if I was a clown I would be a member of the government why do they want to live with us White's. I would not want to live in Africa.
Main reason why there are no snakes is they can't climb cliffs. It's why Britain has snakes but Ireland doesn't. The story about St Patrick banishing snakes, that's a metaphor for converting the pagans to Christianity
I'm little Irish , and I love Potatoes. My aunt add potatoes to alot of dishes. She said it adds texture, flavor. I like that IreKilkenny, Co. Kilkenny Kilkenny began with an early sixth-century ecclesiastical foundation and was granted city status in 1609. It remains the smallest city in Ireland-and one of the prettiest, with its medieval buildings and narrow lanes lined with colorful shops. Black Abbey and Kilkenny Castle are particular stand-outs.land doesn't have 🐍, or🦗 🦟. I like been comfortable. The weather is not to hot,or cold. No water bill to pay😁👋
Your channel shows you are a British nationalist. I read in a history website that you hate the Irish people because they broke up your empire. Time to stop hating them and move on?
Your positivity is lovely. The snakes may be because when Britain and Ireland seperated it was an ice age and so the snakes died out and when it warmed up there was no land bridge.
Glad you are happy in Ireland and no doubt you are a positive influence here. Ireland has improved enormously thanks to the recent cultural mix. Our culture is strong and will not be diluted but enriched by this diversity.
Just discovered your channel today when I typed in "what I love about Ireland" as I wanted to know about some wholesome opinions. You've got a new subscriber!
Eavan, Africa has a billion people, so how many Africans will you take in before you become a minority? And do you think you can get along with the blacks when you never were able to get along with the British?
I have visited. The countryside is Beautiful. I did have a traditional Irish breakfast.Dublin was quite fun. Visited Howth a seaside town and the Blarney Castle. Cork was different. It is quite easy to navigate the city. I know you mentioned Guinness but don't forget Teeling. I had a Wonderful time. I hope to visit again!!!
Your videos are very good and descent. I hope you enjoy every moment in Ireland, I hope to be there sometime I known no one but I will take inspiration from you
as an irish person i say thank you for your kind words and its great to hear someone outside of the irish talking good things about our home. we generally like black people cause we share very similar histories, irish slavery in america, irish revolution and civil rights and irish troubles that has destroyed homes, families and torn apart many families. we have been fighting for the right to live for 800 years and even the peace treaty cant mend the broken families and years of opression and suffering. i hope that living in ireland continues to be great for you and hope it has shown you that not all white people are bad and racist.
hey my friend the irish will embrace anyone and welcome them as long as you bring no trouble and were even teach them a thing or too about our history and land and even share a point with ya willing. same goes for the scottish, welsh and cornish too.
Welcome to Ireland, Great having you here and I hope you stay and have a happy life here, just cover up and stay warm, and have an umbrella at all time lol
So glad to have you here and that you are loving it. I was so happy to hear my city Limerick on one of the places you visited. Hope you are safe and healthy on this lockdown. Wishing you well lots of hugs 🤗 Vicki xx
+Chinyere Osuafor I'm not even from Kerry myself but if you're looking for travel recommendations, you should head down to Dingle in Kerry. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. Plus the experience of driving down the Conor Pass is pretty unforgettable. And it's the only place in the country where you can see Fungie! :D And really, he's getting on in age so he probably only has a few years left in him. If you haven't seen him before, you should do so before it's too late! :)
Yes dear. but can Irish people move back to Ireland ? You don't know the meaning of the word English, it has over fifty different tongues 75% is Hebrew the word Brit-ish is also Hebrew, and means Covenant-Men, the Covenant between Abraham and Yahweh I am the son of an Irish King young lady, and the land downunder is the only land in the world that has never even had snakes NZ the land of the Kiwi
Hi Chinyere...THNX FOR THIS amazing video...u r beautiful girl n thnx for putting up ur comments to support India...u r welcome to my country anytime...
I miss ireland. My mother is three quarters Irish and a quarter Welsh. Just waiting to have been driving 5 years so I can rent a car as you really need one there. Well, on the west coast anyway where my family are from and my cousins live. I'd easily move there at the drop of a hat if doctors appointments and prescriptions were free like in england
Why would I want to live in rainy and miserable Ireland? I have a much better quality of life in sunny ☀️ Africa. Soon you guys will be begging to come here. It’s already happening
Jahson Yahweh don’t worry I’m not going to be begging anyone.I’m fully aware of my roots,no confusion.I’m just exploring the world because I’m young and I can.Travelling abroad to live is an experience which people like yourself try to sound condescending about. It doesn’t matter where u find yourself.Live while you can.Goodnight and I hope the sun doesn’t burn you out
Everlycece I have travelled my dear and there is no place like home. There are so many opportunities in Africa it’s unreal. Enjoy Ireland while I chill by the pool 😉
have you ever tried to fake an Irish accent while talking to someone there and you talk so long that you end up talking in a proper Nigerian accent. like if you agree. it happened to my friend. #speed talking goals # hilarious
I wonder if I could get a job in Ireland . I have a year of nursing . and can someone please tell me why there are no snakes in Ireland. I'm to scared to watch the video.
Is Ireland racist at all? My wife is Filipino, just curious how it is overseas, especially Ireland. We always talk about moving there, but we need to experience it first before fully deciding on that, just curious. Also how are the jobs there, IT jobs pretty decent?
videos honestly there are racist people everywhere, but I'd genuinely like to know the answer to this too as I am an African-American female and considering visiting.
Ash Cash No we are not a racist country. As you correctly said, there are racist people everywhere but there would only be a very small number of idiots here that are racist. Most people don’t care what race you are here. As an African American you will be warmly welcomed :) Historically we have a lot in common with African Americans in that we were invaded (and some of us were enslaved), not allowed own land, not allowed speak our native language and thought of as being inferior. That’s all waaaay back in the past though and people have moved on. If you read up on some Irish history you’ll probably find it interesting!
I'd say don't have a thin skin in Ireland. We like to "slag" so don't get offended just "slag" us back and we will have a laugh. Make fun of yourself as we find self depreciation the funniest form of comedy.
If you actually go as far North as Northern Ireland as a PoC you are the least suspicious person there, it’s the other white people everyone is worried about. Like stated before yea sure you get racist people everywhere but it’s only a few idiots here and they’re mostly kept in check by their friends telling them to their face they are idiots. One example there’s a guy my Dad had friended on Facebook who kept posting anti Islamic BS about them all being terrorists etc, and he said to him he’s one to talk since he’s only free to post anything on Facebook because they let him out of prison under the Good Friday Agreement, part of which was they let all ‘political prisoners’ go which is a nice way of saying let the IRA as well as the loyalists terrorists out no matter what they where in for.
There is a sizeable Filipino community in Ireland, most of whom are cherished as nurses for their genuine caring nature. As an Irish person living in the Philippines for many years, I have always found many similarities between the two cultures.
