Alright everyone we're back with a video that we think went pretty well! We make mistakes when DIYing just like everyone else, so we thought it would be fun to reattempt some of our past fails. Becky, for what it's worth I thought your original floor mat was pretty, I just wouldn't have used it for that purpose. It's refreshing that you both take constructive criticism well and use it to grow as oppose to seeing it as a set back.

Yeah, it looks pretty, but I dont get what its for exactly. She said, to keep dirty and wet shoes. But why would you want to put your dirty shoes somewhere, that is so hard to clean?

Oh! OH! I know! You remember that giant candle in a bowl that turned into a fire hazard? That was such a good idea, you should try again! Also more candle projects in general please, candles are so pretty and relaxing!

Rara Avis just surround a *pillar candle* with the others and have them all at the same height. You’ll have to light them at the same time. It won’t look like a cool cluster of random little flames but at least it will burn properly, just like a multi wick candle..

human That’s what I did. The heat from all the flames so close to each other just started to melt everything down. It works for a multiwick candle, because then it’s ok for the wax to get liquid...but if it’s separate candles, they’ll turn into a wax puddle really quickly. Except maybe, if it was really thick candles...but it doesn’t work for anything the thickness of a candlelight, say.

Rara Avis ooo it would be so cool if Becky turned her rock shoe mat into some kind of water scene with resin!! Like maybe hold down the rocks with clear resin, but not cover the rocks because slippery, then blue and white resin for a stream

For the terrazzo project, I think you should just try loading a lot more ceramic pieces at random so some are at the surface & some look like they’re just below the surface & some pieces can be seen on the sides

Its probably just a way to reuse materials that would other wise be garbage. My grandpa is an architect and construction worker and does design elements that reuse materials like that for decorative features of the house.

you should put a protective lacquer/wax on the wood of the shoe tray, so 1. it can be cleaned easier, and 2. the dirt and water mud whatever doesn't damage the wood as quickly

@@annaa5548 If I don't put my hopes too high, or if i know what i want the item to do, I usually don't hate the project at the end. I also know quite right away if i hate it or not... What takes me a while to accept is whether i have the time, talent, or willingness to do a certain project. For instance knitting. i can knit (basic knit stitches, whatever they're called), but i simply don't enjoy doing it. i kept around some knitting needles and some yarn hoping i'd get into it. i eventually admitted i won't and got rid of the stuff -gave it to someone who would make more use of them. I think i can get into crocheting though and i enjoy sewing and embroidering).

I love this shoe tray, so awesome. I'm happy you redid it the way you had envisioned it in the first place. Love your Tarazzo remake, this one is super pretty, love that it is a smaller more manageable size and it looks beautiful sitting on the counter. You totally nailed the tinted mirror, and I really love it! So awesome Becky and Kelsey you guys just rock, you didn't give up and you came back and made those DIY fails super. I really like this video because it shows how y'all took the collective criticism from those projects, workshopped the issues, and tried again. It's a process that we can all learn from. I really love that you tackled these again--I think it shows a lot of maturity and it inspires me to keep trying when things don't work out the first time. I'd encourage you to keep doing tons of research for your DIYs, when you can. It made such a huge difference in the tone of your video and the overall quality of what you created. That shoe mat was definitely something I would put in my home!

Yes! So satisfying. Do more re-do videos, even if they aren't fails. You could have a "next level" series where you take previous DIYs and improve upon them. This would work well for all your DIYs with constraints (challenges, budgets, time limits, what not), since your "next level" series could eliminate those limitations.

On the circle, no way anyone gets a perfect cut. I would have made it oversize and then used an xacto to the edge for cleaner cut. Looked good though

What about pouring resin over the rocks? Don’t need the water proof layer or the silicone

Resin is expensive, can be hard to work with, you'd need to be quick and precise to avoid air bubbles AND she already said she wasn't comfortable using resin

@@ZinniaLP Resin can be expensive, the more expensive part is if it goes wrong you lose the resin and whatever you were using with it. But most resins have a long pot life so a tray this size would still be doable and air bubbles are only a problem if the ideal depth of the pour is over run or theirs not enough open space so they collect due to not being able to escape. Fine that she said shes not comfortable using resin yet (especially on big projects) but for others thinking that it might be a way to waterproof it, its probably the best option out there.

I think this is so cool!! It’s probably difficult to do diys amazing all the time but seeing you both reattempt them is really cool. I love everything y’all do, and y’all are so positive. I really look up to you both :)
