This was the first show I watched regularly after elementary school that wasn't marketed for kids. Like I graduated from PBS Kids to UPN 😂 It has a soft spot in my heart.
I am cry laughing at that mention - UPN!! Had all the good stuff. Moesha, season 4 of digimon... Jeez lol. I think I used to watch Reba on wb though. It was scheduled near blue collar tv if I remember correctly. Couldn't miss that!
@@bannedepisodes8151 they're both good in my view (in their own way I guess), but Reba has an entirely different format/formula than ELR. I remember it mostly when it was still new/airing as a kid, and compared to ELR it's very different in structure (writing, content/material, theme and character flow). I don't think such completely different shows can be highly comparable 1:1 given the big difference/elements to them. Not saying you can't like one and not another, but they are pretty different styles of shows and probably not meant to compete/be similar in any way.
I agree! With the RU-vid channels we don’t get to have that. I wasn’t a huge fan of this specific show but others I still know the song and it got me excited once a week or day ❤️
Steve Howey is the shit. He’s also in Shameless, if you’ve ever seen that. He’s got that lovable, but not so smart (and very funny) thing down pat, both his characters are similar in that way.
Joel Munoz reminds me when I was like 5 years old in elementary school kindergarden i think this would be on when I got home from school at 3:30 pm and put down my back pack at the front door by the banister near the kitchen table as the sunlight hit the inside of the house just right radiating like I was in heaven as the warmth graced my face...good times 😢
@@jacubtscorpio5084 broooo I’m like freaking out. I have this exact same memory. I would come home from kindergarten to the smell of my mom making tortillas 😂 as I walked in I could see the little dust particles floating in the ray of sunshine coming from the door. I would go straight to the kitchen while this song played, put my backpack on the chair, grab a caprisun (ofc my mom had to help me put the straw in) and then I would run to the living room so I could watch Reba 😂 the good times when I wasn’t depressed and actually happy. I would also watch the clock go by even tho I didn’t know how to tell time bc I was excited for my dad to come home.
My memories of this show are precious. My older sister either at work or with friends, my dad at work, and just me and my mom eating dinner around 5pm right when Reba would play on Canadian networks. It's silly but I'll always treasure this show since it was time spent with my Mum during those angsty teenage years.
I always loved the Pilot theme song with the ending slides of the guitar when she sang “I’m a survivor.” These bring back so many childhood memories! I still watch reruns on the daily
Man this theme song is amazing, I am jamming so hard to this theme song, Reba McEntire had an outstanding sitcom and a wonderful theme song, love this so much
+drummer703 I don't know, I feel like the season one theme just gives a depressing tone while the later seasons give it a more upbeat tone making me want to dance and smile.
+Joseph Dutra plus I like that the first season sets a tone, like how u say the other seasons u smile and dance, the first season is like really feels out the story of this single mother still making it raising her kids and making the family work without being with their father. But no matter which opening I didn't think I would like the show as much as I do it's so funny
I used to watch this on Lifetime in between episodes of “The Golden Girls.” It’s actually kind of fun. :D I especially like the interactions between Reba and Barbara Jean (I can’t think of many other shows that have the ex-wife and the new wife as friends). It was an interesting take on divorce that you don’t see a lot on TV. Plus as a closeted gay man, I enjoyed watching Steve Howey, too. :p
I'm here because this song has been on TikTok. The lyrics were "single mom who works two jobs.". I said "woah hey... I watched Reba for years... Isn't it 'single mom who works too hard??'". My wife was like ummmmm nope... I'm texan.. I know country songs. So I came here to prove it. "See!! 'too hard!'"
ME TOO. I literally came here looking for this because I’ve been seeing all the Tiktok trends lately and I know for a fact it was “single mom who works too hard” and not “two jobs” the og Reba fans know what’s up lmao
Lol yup, although it’s the reverse. I’m a Survivor was released as a song before the show existed. In that version, which is showing up on TikTok now, she says “two jobs.” There’s also a first part of the chorus that was omitted from the show theme. It was edited to make sense in the context of the show.
Am I the only one who remembers the episode where her youngest daughter invited her friends over for a pool party and Reba was scared because they were all black?
Girl me too. It reminded me of the summer of 2004. Idk why it just did. I was 19 and wanted to be gone every night until Friday night when Reba would come on. I use to watch her with my Nana. I'd give anything to have those days back. She died in 2015 and I miss her so much.
