Somewhat it explains why Marceline was so mad her father eat her fries. If he is not there for her and doesn't do anything good for her, but still takes her stuff like nothing, how is she supposed to know he loves her? if by any means he does ? Even small things can make someone reach their limits.

They should've had this full version in the episode.

Making the song about something as trivial as eating someone else's fries is actually smart, when someone treats you poorly or if someone is just toxic to you in general, some of the smallest things can effect you long term emotionally, because it'll be just one of the many things that that person has done to you that you'll remember on random days or nights. It only takes one little thing for you to get even closer to your breaking point. If someone is crying about something that seems like it's stupid, you could never know what that person has been through, and how that one small stupid thing to cry over could've been their breaking point. Speaking from experience.

In a world broken down into the mind of a little girl with a father that doesn't really care about the broken land of ooo, or about the baby girl his wife birthed(who still remains unknown.),getting a box of fries feels incredible. But her father(Hunsen abadeer) ate it, leaving marceline feeling sad,mad, and vulnerable in a broken down society. Plus he claimed they were cold and bad tasting.

this hits really close to home. i grew up with adventure time, and this song always stuck to me. my dad stopped being there for me as i grew older, so i can feel marceline's pain.

The hard hitting part of this, is that it’s a simple song about fries until you realize marcelina is truly a deep character with issues to work through. ‘Daddy do you even love me?’ dude that part hits me hard.

Rebecca Sugar is a better songwriter than episode writer/showrunner.

I can relate to this song, my dad has eight kids including me and I don't see him much. "Daddy, why did you leave me? You created me, so don't you wanna see me?" My dad left me and my mom to live in a flat. "Daddy, why did you make me? If you're not gonna take me, to get a burger and a shakey." He only speaks to me when I see him. "Don't you know that I love you and I only want to see more of you." I always want to see him more often. "Daddy, do you even love me? Well I wish you would show it cause I wouldn't know it." Living in a big family, I always try to battle for affection, and being one of the middle child's it's hard.

To be fair, this song has a lot more meaning if this happened during the apocalypse after the mushroom bomb. She spent all that time looking for food and then it gets eaten by someone else

I just realised what even more screwed up about Marceline father. When Marceline was younger she had to survive a apocalypse and her father didn't even help her and only show up to eat her food source.

Anyone here in 2024? Every time I think about it, Adventure time was really the highlight of my childhood. The songs, characters, and story were amazing. Anyways, whenever I listen to this song it makes me think about my relationship with my father. FYI, I'm not trying to trauma dump it's just that my dad was abusive and practically traumatized me, but this song just makes me miss him. I know he's a horrible person, and he might have messed me up for life, but I can't help it. I miss him, and I wish our relationship didn't end the way it did. I wish he would've listened to me when I told him change. I wish he could be here, helping me through life and giving me fatherly advice. Unfortunately, that can never be the case. I'm sorry for trauma dumping. This song just gets me in my feels, ya know?
