In 1954 I got my 1st Bible full yap, sewn bind, and great leather. World publishing and $5.50. Amazing as you may find it I've used it and it's still sewn and bound. I can't rebind it because I've written all over it but this sounds like a great idea for older bibles that people want to save.
Great video! I’m so curious regarding the different kinds. I would love a custom rebind that’s affordable and nice. But also would love to have one really nice leather that has totally different look and feel. Would love more videos on this topic!
I have my Grandpa’s Bible that was willed to me upon his going to join the Lord. It was very well loved and needs a new binding and ribbon. I am not looking at anything fancy. What should I expect to pay for a basic rebind?
It depends on who you use and what leather you go with. You can save money going with newer guys, but there is also an element of risk. I would recommend going with ICA and getting a basic Sully rebind. That would be somewhere in the range of $300-350 depending on the options you choose. Just contact him, and see where it goes. He does the best work and for a fair price.
All I want in life is a zipper on my ESV Large Print Compact! It's nearly impossible to find a proper sized case for it. I keep it in the clamshell box it came in. That would be fine, except it was water damaged in a rainstorm years ago. (Thankfully the Bible was okay.) But the box looks awful and is starting to fall apart. There is also the fact that the sharp corners of the box will eventually damage whatever purse/bag I use. I even contacted Crossway, explained this to them, and practically begged them to send me a new box. I even offered to pay for it. Nope. But it wouldn't make sense to pay more for a rebind than the original Bible even cost. It's Trutone and is still in near perfect condition. I love this little Bible and would take it with me everywhere, all the time, if it was just easier to do so. A zipper would solve all these issues. Can you somehow use whatever influence you have to convince Bible makers to make zippers standard? ;) At least, on compact sized Bibles? The point of them is to take them everywhere! But we also don't want our Bibles damaged. Sigh.
That is a fine rebind. If I were to get a rebind. What are your top 3? I am getting an NASB 95’ wide margin from Steadfast, and want it with a beautiful custom rebind. Also, would you get the cowhide or faux leather paste down to rebind?? Thank you
If you keep it simple and select the right leather it doesn’t have to be crazy expensive, but it’s at least $300 give or take and depending on who you use.
Interested in this. I got a CSB Apologetics Study Bible I might want rebound in the future. Got it awhile ago and the synthetic leather is nice but might want something nicer since I love that Bible.

HE LIVES EVERMORE! We can live forever through Him. God forgives our sins through Him otherwise our sins will prevent us from living in Glory with Him and our family in the faith the Bible describes. We study to show ourselves approved in wisdom and further truths about Him! We are in a family! God's family. CHRIST'S BRIDE! We got to know Jesus Christ better and better!
