Having reborns are the best thing ever I have 21 reborns I have them to help me with my anxiety and depression and they help me and your baby girl is adorable
I got 3 reborns babies & 1 toddler they all help me with my issues, I can't have kids that be another Reason why I have mine. I take my reborns out and about with me to town and that.
Congratulations guys!! I have a little girl, Lily, [I had her made with eyes closed, so people wouldn't think she was a baby who never slept!] My baby was recommended to me, to help heal the pain of never seeing my mother, who died when I was two. I had a step mother about 5 minutes later, who spent her whole life abusing me - punched my teeth out, broke my nose at the same time, and other things you would not believe. Then, about 6 years ago I had a brain injury - our kids were teen agers when this happened. The injury wiped out half my brain, and I could not remember that I was married and had two children, who had been brought up by myhusband and I the complete opposite of my upbringing. I grieve for a mother who died; I grieve for the loss of a childhood at the hands of a psycho. My little Lily has brought me much joy, and I love to carry her around, slung over my shoulder! I am not a psycho, I love my real children so much, I KNOW SHE IS A DOLL. I bought her myself, so if it is a waste, its my waste. She has brought me some peace - so the fact she is a doll matters not. It is the change in my mind that she gives me, and that is worth every cent. Do not be so mean before you know the story, or have stood in someone elses shoes.

But then I read the second comment you left... could you please tell me how these 2 men being happy with and enjoying a creative outlet affects you and/or your life, specifically how it negatively impacts you or anyone else? They are not delusional or mentally ill for enjoying pretending; why is it so encouraged in children yet so looked down upon in adults? And on the same topic, when, then, more specifically, at what age, is pretending no longer acceptable behavior? If something brings these men this much joy and they were kind enough to share it with the world, even though it inadvertantly opened them up to criticism, why should anyone rain on their parade? I'm more or less incapable of having children, biologically, and though I LOVE babies and always have, I'd never wish to subject a child to the plethora of genetic garbage that lurks within my genes. As a child though, my mother bought me many dolls, including several quite expensive collectibles from different collectible shops and online. I'm nearly 30 and still have several. While I do not talk to them or "play" with them anymore, that's just my personal preference. I do sometimes change their outfits (they get dusty or sometimes I change them based on holiday seasons as decor) and now and then, when I'm feeling particularly broody or maternal (usually it's around the time I'm PMS-y), I will hold one for a while as a way to sort of soothe/comfort myself. I don't share it on the internet, but again, that's just me. Live and let live, hon. Your stress levels will thank you!
@@johnandevefoster3816 By the way, if you're interested in collectables that are high quality but not as expensive as these for your daughter, I suggest Ashton Drake galleries as well as Paradise galleries, both of which you can google and then peruse to your heart's content. They are not exactly the same as custom reborns so they are more affordable for those of us who are not "serious" collectors. Ashton Drake has yielded better quality than Paradise for me but most of mine were also purchased up to 15 or so years ago. My absolute favorite actually came from a collector/hobby-like store in a mall. I had actually picked her up and was carrying her around til we got to the counter to pay and the lady looked at me quite strangely when I tried "handing over my baby" to her, not realizing it was one of her products because of how naturally it lay in my arms! 😂
When it comes down to it, I love how this doll brings so much joy to these two guys. To each his own...no judge here. With that being said, I do think the legs could have been made/placed better.
I thought the same thing when I was a kid. I used to look at the rows of babies in the catalogue and pick which one I wanted. I always loved the Asian and African-Canadian babies the best.

Oh my goodness if I was younger I'd give you a real baby! This is happy, but I think you would be so very happy with your own family including kids. It makes me so mad that society has made it so complicated and expensive for you two to have a real baby! Sandy yea parenting is easy when the baby isn't actually alive, breathing, eating, peeing, pooping, puking, screaming and crying at literally any and all hours of the day and night; real test of a person's ability to parent right here... not saying that 2 wouldn't be wonderful parents given the opportunity; just that 2 dudes fawning all over what is basically a piece of plastic shaped like a baby but without all those pesky human qualities; what they got is that romanticized idea of what having a newborn must be like: a child that doesn't grow up, stays so cute, cooperates for those all important selfies; like it's an accessory or something...
I cried. I know this feeling. I was in such a hurry to unwrap my son and hold him. I never posted an unboxing video, but I did record it, and had my long distance boyfriend on skype at the time, and we were both so emotional.. we both cried.. I hastily got my son out of the plastic and just held him and cried. I thought we were the only gay couple who did this. You guys are amazing, and so is your baby. So happy for you.

If you buy a doll with rigid arms and legs, it will look like it has rigor mortis. Little babies can move their arms and legs around, and have a pretty good 'kick' range. When I bought mine, I questioned her arms and legs, and the lady who made her showed how I could tighten them and untighten them as I wished. She feels like a baby when you carry her, but with two arms rigid vertically or horizontally, and the same for legs, I am not sure what that would feel like. A baby filled up with cement. My baby feels just fine, and her legs and arms are free to move them around. Go on, one of you nasayers, get yourself a Reborn, and feel how cuddling her makes your tension lighten.

@@semprevida I realise you are having a go at me; and that is fair enough. 6 years I had severe head injury, and had to learn to walk and talk again, which was not easy, Took me 2 weeks to learn my first word ''the'', and i was happy enough with that. Of course I do not have the right to tell you what to say; but one sarcastic comment can pull me back again from the bit of self respect I have worked so long to get. Doxielove 7 except they are not weirdos. They are adults who collect expensive dolls. These dolls are not for playing with by children. They are art pieces. Every aspect of that doll would have been picked by the dads. That’s the way the hobby works. There are millions of us collectors, worldwide. Get over your narrow mindedness. The legs are facing the wrong way though, but they pop off so, it can easily be rectified.

These can break inside the doll and become a danger with heavy handling and play. They are designed for collectors to dress up and display in pretty clothes and elegant old fashioned prams. They require careful handling and cleaning, to keep them in good condition. There are kid safe reborns out there, with different padding in. but mostly, these dolls are for grown up collectors , who know their value and will love and treasure them. A custom doll can cost anything from £250 - £1000 depending on how famous the artist is and wether the kit (head, feet, legs, arms) is limited edition. The kit arrives to the artist unpainted and is painstakingly created to look as real as possible, with tiny nails, veils, lashes and many many layers of paint. To get the skin tone just right. It takes up to six weeks to complete one doll. These dolls have been found to be helpful to women who have lost babies suddenly, they aid the healing process by giving them something to hold where their baby should be, something that feels and weighs right.
