Welcome back to another episode of Reborn with Me!
Now that we have finally finished rooting Alissa Beth we're ready to take care of those final details: the first is gluing!
In Part 1, I'll be demonstrating:
- how to use light to set the doll's gaze
- how to seal rooted hair and eyebrows
- and easy way to place and glue magnets

Can u do a tutorial for dolls with neck parts? I have a raya sculpt and there's a very tight fit in the head, I can't get anything it it and I cant find any tutorials on how to get eyes in or how to glue the hair on

How long does it take Gem-Tac to dry? I do my hair in layers so before I cut and style it, I glue it.

is there a way to make the hair thicker? Like so you barely see the scalp? Or is that due to the har color?

There are lots of ways to make it thicker. :) You can root more hair to make it thicker. Adding more hair plugs and putting strands closer together will make it thicker. Putting more hair in each hair plug makes it thicker. Using a thicker hair follicle (like human hair or adult mohair instead of kid, yearling, wool or alpaca) will give you a thicker hairstyle. As you suggested, hair color and texture also plays a role. Dark curly hair looks thicker than straight blonde hair. Hi Kim, How do I fix my silicone reborn baby doll 's hair since she hardly has any on her head and her magnet for her mouth is just loose rolling around inside of her head whenever I pick her up. My reborn doll's maker wants to charge me $95 for a new reborn baby doll including the head, but let me replace my doll's head twice before without charging me what should I do? I could go to Walmart and replace my full doll for $56.00. All I need is a new head for my doll. What do you suggest that I do to fix this problem?

Some people use yellow tones on a reborn, like on the nose and forehead area, how can you achieve that?

hoe bad does the hair come out when brushing it like you were before you glue it?

That depends on a few factors: 1. The flexibility of the vinyl. If the vinyl is pretty stiff, it will not grip the hair well and you're more at the mercy of the glue to hold it down. 2. How much of the hair follicle is in the vinyl. If you rooted pretty shallow and only the very tips are in the scalp, there is a greater risk of pulling hair out. I do quite a bit of brushing before I glue because I want that shallow hair to fall out so I can re-root any new bald spots before the doll goes home to the customer. My goal is that the hair is secure by the time the baby does home.

do we need a magnetic dummy to put the magnet in the dolls mouth

You just need two magnets - one to put inside the mouth and one to put outside the mouth - presumably the one that will be attached to the pacifier. Just make sure the internal magnet has the right pole facing out or else the paci will not stick.
