You’ve probably heard the saying, ran when parked, and in this case, my Corvair started and ran when I parked it but then, when I went to start it the next time it didn’t.
I removed the starter from the car and while checking it out I noticed that the field winding connection was loose and this was causing the starter failure but because I had removed it, I decided to do a rebuild. No new parts were used purely a disassemble, clean and put back together.

Great video, especially filming solo and one-handed! I put a new starter drive & solenoid and brushes in mine.

Thanks for this video, i'm more familiar with Chrysler reduction gear starters but not so much with GM starters. This has been a huge help.
