This was a great episode. Being a transplant to SFL since 2016 and a black history lover, I've since alot change since I moved to the region. They're literally doing same in Liberty City and Brownsville other cities in Broward and Palm Beach. It's time to wake up, get up and rebuild!

Its crazy how much the demographic of Miami has changed. My old neighborhood in Carol City was all black or jamaican american with a few cuban families and I remember 1 white family, now its all Dominican. Most black people are leaving the northern area of miami dade and moving north to parts of broward or further south to south dade areas like perrine, goulds and florida city. Most of the haitians move to ft lauderdale and the jamaicans move to miramar or lauderhill. Its crazy because wynwood, the design district, edgewater and midtown was all considered overtown or downtown back in the day. Its big corporations and foreign investors (often from illegal money) buying up those areas. I really don’t think a lot of us know what we’re truly up against. When they start changing the names thats the 1st signal things are done. Little Haiti is called Little River or Upper eastside or Miami Modern (MiMo).

Big b we need to United lil Haiti north Miami, North Miami Beach 🇭🇹🇭🇹 and buy back the blocks.....

This really hits home for me personally, We had a family business in Overtown for years that the white landlords refuse to sell the land to my father on 8th street. Overtown, Cocunt Grove and Liberty City where all viberate communites for before segeration and miseducation. Thank you for the shining the light on the real Miami aka Magic City! 305 for Life....

Assassinating Haitian builders and burning down buildings. I really wish American Haitians can do something about this issue

Earnest and sincere thoughts. Some points stated are lacking fullness of truth. Perspective is everything. Long before any of the principles in this presentation were even born. Even their older kin for that matter. Miami was a much different place. Naples and Key West. Everglades city were the dominant hubs. Miami was a winter destination. The early population was low-key. Then slowly, yet surely the big money came and the city caved in. Growth was rampant. War veterans moved to the area seeking the paradise they thought existed. Unfairly to be polite. Existing communities were bull dozed in the name of progress. Urban sprawl commenced. Shopping centers sprung up. There by drawing the support for the established entrepreneurs away. A portion of the population thought wrongly that there was finer quality to had at such places. They took their money out of their own community. Mean another portion of the population fled. Immigration by thousands from cultures with a very different point of view became common place. These cultures moved to the long vacated areas. Areas that once were attractive and humble had fallen into disrepair. Various national financial crisis only fed the demise. More of the population fled. All the while, vastly different cultures took their place. They neither had the means or desire to replenish or rebuild. Sadly their are many that have risen above. They have achieved what others thought was unattainable. Yet they themselves didn't look back at their beginnings. Instead they invested elsewhere. They too saw the blight and injustice. Yet few if any did more then talk. They continued with the thought that some outside source needed to do the heavy lifting. Sure enough that outside source did in fact do the heavy lifting. However not to their liking or desire. They once again found themselves on the outside. Maybe the latest batch of do gooders will actually invest cold hard cash in the communities they say they so passionately care for. Words are cheap.

unfortunately the developers have already took Wynwood, little havana, Overtown, Little Haiti and Liberty city most of the people that was living there was renters and the owners lived in California. south and Miami beach will be under water in 10years so they're coming for the inland been coming for the past 5yrs look at NE 5ave now and 2ave all Gentrified and still buying up property

As a person that was born and raised in Miami- a lot of the parts of Overtown was not being used by Blacks the way it was supposed to be used- So the whites showed us how that part of town could've been used like Wynwood. As Black people we cannot get mad at them being creative and we are not- it's time that we wake up and if we want to reclaim our areas use them right- bring in successful black businesses to our areas instead of them being dangerous drug and crime infested areas.

Link up with Dr. Umar and teach our people black history. I leaned the history of Haiti in my late 30's when I went back to college. My proffessor basically taught us real American history and we were still able to pass the Test for the American history that is taught to us by Europeans but we were able to gain Knowledge of African history .

Those groups all had this one thing in common and that is each group had one person or government speaking for them when they were seeking compensation from the US government. We have over 5 COMPETING black groups reaching out to the government for reparations on our behalf. How do you give so many groups that amount of money and make sure we all get our said amount? That means the government has to monitor all those groups at one time instead of giving it to our(blacks) own Central Government which we have not created yet.

I live in lil Haiti I been notice years ago they’re trying to gentrified lil Haiti I see too many white and Spanish people walking around and I just wanna say I don’t have any issues or problems with white or Spanish people but y’all moving in into a black neighborhood by the masses, I remember someone said this is how you know your neighborhood has been gentrified, if you see a white women running or walking her dog…. Yup it’s gentrified 😅And I seen a lot of them lol the apartment building I move in used to be full of Haitian people in 2012, now 2024 we’re the only black peoples in that apartment building lol 😅it’s full of Spanish people 😅 and when I walk around I see they buying up buildings and re-modifying them for they people they’re literally changing lil Haiti step by step. I won’t be surprised if they change the name in a couple years…..

Why people so proud to live well in America and not they own country. Africans are proud of Africa now, they evolved. Other black countries should do the same.
