TJ needs a NSX insider to help him find all the parts he needs (via forums, FB groups & individual IG accounts). Lots of parts up here in OC & LA. Me and the NSX homies would be happy to lend a hand! Just holla!
@@ChaseSmith-m6tyup hard to say if he will see it or if he will even want the help. But the OC and LA community of NSX owners is pretty big and we’re not far away. I’m also a SD native so I’m totally down to hit up SD for Mexican food!! 😁 but yeah the thing with the nsx community is that a lot of people have parts just hiding away that don’t get listed for sale so if anyone needs anything usually we just need to hit up the homies and we’ll find what we need.
I know you probably won’t see this TJ but future reference for stopping paint get aircraft remover and plastic, apply the aircraft remover and cover in plastic because it enhances the effects and your paint will be completely stripped in 30 minutes to an hour
It’s honestly so good to see and hear Calvin in the videos. Every time we hear your voice calv it throws us back to the og times and there’s nothing that can replace you, seriously dude you hold so much value to this channel and I’m so happy just to see your face man. Peace be to you man
Calvin's expression after the "Or your mom" comment (10:34) haha like he wasn't exactly mad, just like really put down and didn't know what to say or how to come back from that. It was pure unexpected defeat.
Lmfao that part about the car looking like a clown calvin said. Then he said talk about Nana one more time. (Fist up and spiting on em) lmfao had me laughing so hard. Great work tongues hope to meet Calvin at gridlife sc one of these years.
Hmmmm kinda funny how a bunch of car content creators are suddenly struggling with mental health all of a sudden at the same time.... Weird. That must been quite the pitch at this companies last advertising meeting... Lets sponsor a bunch auto channels.... So suss
Protip: aircraft grade paint stripper is your best friend for polymer/plastic bumpers like that. it's like 30 minutes and it goops the paint off. Still need sanding like you guys did, but it's a huge time saver and better results than the product you used. Just test a portion of the material to make sure it doesn't eat it away lol.
As an acura NSX owner, I have to laugh, you guys complaining about sourcing parts... I have acura legend coupes as well (baby nsx)... by all means build one of those! I'll supply parts for a small $$$$ lmao
Tj the NSX is coming along sick I can't wait to see it finished and ripping on the streets or a track you definitely got to bring it to a track and so stoked your restoring such an iconic jdm piece of history and as always keep up the great work 👍
Awesome video as always TJ and Crew. The NSX is so awesome and can't wait to see it ripping up the road. And can't wait to see the next episode in the new shop.
There are so few unmodified, ruined NSX with excessive kits, etc., around right now, honestly, I would have loved to see just a complete to OEM restoration on it. There is a very good reason why NSX parts are so expensive. It is the definitive Japanese supercar. Sure Nissan had the R34 and those can be modded to the any degree, but the original NSX had proper halo pedigree. Its handling, suspension, etc., was factory tuned under instruction by Senna, arguably the best F1 driver to have ever lived. Right thing to do, is to give a car back that pedigree and not detract from it like so many have done since.
I’m never disappointed with thos channel ever. So much so that I never expect big jumps like the one he just made with the new place, because there’s never anytime where I think something is lacking with this channel, unless it’s more wild Dylan screen time. Genuinely my favorite channel since Calvin’s garage era, keep it up TJ
that OG NSX ran from 1991 to 2005 I thought? But you're right the facelift didn't happen until 2002 or so. Crazy that it's that difficult to source parts, but hats off to ya!
I have a NSXR-GT kit, on my RHD Honda NSX. It’s the complete kit, period correct and installed in Japan. You can make a mold of the kit if you want. Just let me know. My NSX is here in the USA, been here for almost 7 years now.
I could easily fix that bumper. It needs to be wet sanded like it is, prime it, spray some guide coat. Sand it and if it's not smooth just use a little glazing putty.
TJ, you have Street Hunter body kits ,why dont you extend to making your own body panels (or modified)for example the nsx, gtr, supra etc... You can design the body panels so they have same clips to attach panels ?
Teej! I love the work on the NSX. I’m so excited to see yall FINALLY work on one! One thing tho, I would be careful with BetterHelp! There has been countless accusations and issues with them and people who use it. I do want everyone to be mentally well, but BetterHelp is not the place to go.
Painted the same green color and put white TE’S or OG bronze. It will look fire stock color is nice. It will be different. Everybody has a white car anyway.
Maybe I need to “trust the process” but I feel like I see a lot of oxidized bolts and rusted parts being put back on; and I dunno but to me if you have access to shit get it off and do it right!
Did you guys get new OEM moulding for the windshield and if so,where? I can’t even find new moulding for my 01 Prelude,I had to get some aftermarket shit and it’s ok but doesn’t fit as nice as the genuine one. Hard as hell to find parts for my Prelude these days,I don’t need anything because my car is nearly mint but I like to find parts for the future. 😊
You need to change your cabin air filter. Apart from that, I would choose to paint it r34 pearl white, but with more green reflects, like Akka ak976 paint.
No more outros? I know yall are busy but isn’t that Anthony’s job. What he gets paid to do. I’m not hating on him. But he is slacking at his job. Someone’s gotta say something. Looking forward to the new shop & outros 😂
Dear hunt team, the new editing seems so mainstream 😢 it nice but I just don’t feel the video as raw, I stayed watching tj for the past 8-9 years because the energy stayed the same but recently I started to see the same content as other yt channels :(
Also I think you should swing more towards the build and sell jdm cars or new cars with the street hunter kits kinda channel. You’d bring tons of new subs and people to your channel. But please stay away from the giveaways as much as possible.
Not a good idea to use body filler on plastic panels. It’ll shrink and be visible after a while. Use 3M two-part plastic repair instead. It’s made for bumper repairs
I really wish TJ would let the other guys take the lead on the build videos. His involvement doesn't add much, and his communication skills are pretty basic. It would be great to see the experts showcase their skills.
Get your boys at SH Designs to make the side skirts and front lip (or whole lower bumper section) in carbon, it might look like a turd now, but I see the vision and it is sweet! 🔥🔥😎😮
If I was a RU-vidr and knew Matt Moreman, there is no way I would move into a new garage without at least asking him to help or make suggestions. I don’t care if he is working on LZ’s house.
Body filler needs to go on bare metal, around the edges and anywhere the filler is applied and featheredge paint around... love watching your videos!!! congrats on the New shop!
Watched this 3 times now cause I’ve been patiently waiting for the next upload cause I know it’s going to be fire 🔥I build cars as a hobby and am a carpenter as a career so these shop update videos are interesting on multiple levels 👌🏼
I’d seriously take that bumper to a body shop before I spent $2k on a new one. If you’re not missing chunks out of it then there shouldn’t be any reason they can’t get it back into shape for you. And well you gotta buy the brackets at this point no matter what so could save you some money in the end.. this is gonna be the last nsx TJ owns.
