0:45 that idler pulley to the right and above the crank pulley is chipped. You should replace it while you have access. It will fail and chew up the belt.
Some of those brackets can be straightened out and re-used. I'm sure the customer would appreciate saving money on this project. That plastic part can be plastic welded most likely by the same person you use to repair the headlight .
Nothing to do with 'GB' at all. Its a very high performance car that is made in the hundreds not millions so parts are like 'not many'. And if people cannot afford the parts they shouldn't buy the car.
Wow what a beautiful car to work on and all so new it practically clean! Really nice work there Sir. And the parts cost? Its a rare Jaguar so parts will be rare. Just one thing worried me: Surely those new parts needed painting first? I can understand the need to see it come together but that is going to be one difficult paint job later. Oh and that LH side corner bracket? I would fit it and see where its out - its aluminium so will work harden but it will take a a pull into shape on the car.
The price of the car, bought at the auction, if it is low, will pay off. Although the parts are expensive, when the car is ready it has a lot of value! will make a profit anyway! It was a high bet, but you can win in this project!
no, you NEVER win with a Jaguar. The value tanks worse than the titantic going under. PLUS, salvage history cuts an already sinking value in half. Better off just buying a GOOD one.
Do you happen to have part 4 of the rebuild? I own this car and was wondering what additional work was done to finish the car. I am not sure if you wrapped it pearl white or a shop after you did. If you could send me the details, that would be awesome.
It was my car but a Turo renter totaled it. I think he never uploaded part 4 because the owner installed a black hood and orange front bumper and instead of painting them just wrapped it.
Jaguar is an expensive brand. Even if you can fix it yourself you need to be able to afford the parts. Imagine if you had a dealer make these repairs I assume it would be a lot more expensive in labor.
I sure hope those things in your ears are just noise suppressors and not for phones and such. Bad bad bad. You will find out later on life when you have a tumor in your brain.
