Advice from someone who has restored several steam locomotives, when putting thing together, you can never use to much copper grease. You’ll be so grateful for it the day you need to fix something
We all make these silly mistakes, it's how we learn. You've done a million times more than I'd ever know how to do!! Truck looking awesome and build seems to be getting along. Keep up the good work. I'd love to see you out doing runs again with the King or the fridge. I miss the old vlogs at DS
The only financially viable reason for doing up one from scratch and not just buying one in better shape is the finances that CONTENT will bring in.😂 So fair play. Also love the restoration👌
Love to see all the projects evolving! just a hint: copper grease isn't the best anymore for vehicles applications cause in long terms the grease tends to dry and the metallic particles are left alone creating metallic dust and risking to seize stuff. There are dedicated greases now also for brakes, better safe than sorry i guess...
Nice seeing the 4 series taking shape, definitely coming on leaps and bounds Tim kudos to you, looking forward to seeing the end result in a few months time.. have a good week fella 👍
A jib crane would be handy in that unit for lifting the heavy truck parts. It would save popping your back out. Adam Booth @Abom79 installed one in his machine shop. It would be a fun toy
Well that was a video of mixed success Tim! At least you are making some headway with the trucks and have folk to help you. Keep going, you'll get there eventually.
Hello @TruckerTim, talking about painting Springs, have a look underneath your blue Scania, front springs are not painted on underside and have gone rusty. I noticed this on the Video when you had it on outside ramp a few weeks ago.
Been Wating for this all day Tim you should leave it a while and then. Try after a few hours because it would of already have fuel in the system you need to wait a few hours then it will see if it all right
Tim why did you put copper slip on the leaf spring bolt?! Copper slip is to to help prevent seizing and corrosion at high temperatures? Furthermore That bolt will come off easy with vibration with the added slip
dude get a battery charger as well you're gonna kill the booster constantly jumping that thing, you'll probably need to charge the R series as well as it doesn't move ;) lovin the work but do miss some more driving/loading episodes.
Keep the red truck, just put some side skirts on it Under glow on it. Reat the engine just a little and get the cab done in airbrushed and find parts for the other Truck 👍👍👍👌🤞🤞🤞🙏
btw those plates at 2:35 probably have a slight angle on them that sets the trailing (google translate for Nachlauf in German because i don't english) of the steer axle. if you put them in the wrong way, your truck won't straighten out on its own out of a turn and it will also vibrate more. i don't usually work with Scania but i know that Scania does it that way.
From Tom Lamb to Trucker Tim. Bought some merchandise from Shaun/Shawn earlier. I've asked him for a sticker to put along side with your. Then proper brother love🤙👌😀😀
Another heart build video Tim. Well done on fitting the spring back on your own, until you put the bolts in wrong, but that the only way you will learn is by marking mistake but Shaun always there to put you right.
hi tim im glad the 4 series is coming together nicely ........ just a quick question with the latest shopping bill is mrs trucker tim expecting a expensive Christmas present lol
Trucker Tim, please don’t forget why people started watching you. I do enjoy the rebuild videos as hectic as they are but the lack of actual trucking vids with you out and about collecting loads etc is a big miss. Do you do any haulage work these days! Good luck with the build.
